Sendori - Pioneer in Direct Navigation Search - Announces Approval of Key U.S. Technology Patents
OAKLAND, Calif., March 22 -- Sendori, an operating business of IAC (NASDAQ:IACI) and division of Ask Sponsored Listings, today announced that it has been granted approval on applications for two individual U.S. patents relating to its core web navigation redirect technology.
Sendori's patent application numbers on file with the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office are 11/532,833 and 12/048,991. They relate to "an electronic marketplace which allows owners of unused domain names to lease their domains to bidding advertisers". Advertisers receive visitors redirected from unused domains which match their keywords.
"We are thrilled to have the Sendori patent approved. It cements our position as innovators in the domain monetization space," said Ofer Ronen, cofounder of Sendori.
Sendori sends qualified visitors from undeveloped web domains directly to advertiser websites. Founded in 2006, Sendori developed the newly patented technology to enable search advertisers and domain owners to mutually benefit from typed-in domain traffic. The Sendori model dramatically improves the direct navigation user experience delivering content pages from national and local advertisers instead of generic pages populated with sponsored links.
Sendori was acquired by Ask Sponsored Listings in January 2009.
