TechFaith to Launch Motion Sensor Gaming Console Box
BEIJING, Jan. 25, 2011 /PRNewswire-Asia/ --China TechFaith Wireless Technology Limited (Nasdaq: CNTF) ("TechFaith") today announced its subsidiary, 798 Entertainment will launch a new motion sensor gaming console box in March of 2011 through 17Vee, its motion game publishing platform. The console comes with advanced motion controllers, wireless capabilities, 2GB memory, and a low power consumption duo core processor, graphics processing unit. The wireless functionality will allow gamers to access 17Vee unique applications including a variety of proprietary motion games, online motion gaming clubs, the competitive 17Vee Challenger's Versus Platform, TV and an online Karaoke entertainment system.
Mr. Tony Kong, CEO of 798 Entertainment, said, "This is an exciting strategic development for us. We have proven our motion sensor gaming technologies in the mobile and PC online environments. The response has been very positive given the added interactivity, more enriching game experience and ability for gamers to compete against each other by integrating our motion sensor gaming technologies and online game titles. It is a logical step for us to now extend our proprietary motion sensor gaming platform to include a console box. This will open up a new market segment to us by connecting the console directly to television sets and enabling gamers to play online motion games through an Internet broadband connection. The Chinese consumer is a powerful consumer and the home and office environments are ideal locations for us to now further penetrate. To help us build momentum, we plan to launch educational and training content, in addition to the motion sensor entertainment content we all love to play."
