Si TV Premieres Elle & Tito: The Married Life Monday, March 29 at 9pm ET/PT
Unprecedented New Si TV Reality Series Takes Web Phenomenon From Internet to Television Screen in Elle & Tito: The Married Life
LOS ANGELES, March 9 -- First comes love, then comes a wedding designed by hundreds of thousands of MySpace fans and then life as newlyweds. This not so typical story is the basis of Si TV's fascinating new reality series Elle & Tito: The Married Life premiering on Monday, March 29 at 9PM ET/PT.
In a historic television "first," Si TV, Endemol USA and MySpace have partnered to bring the successful and popular interactive reality web series, Married on MySpace, to television. Si TV will be the home to this new series, Elle & Tito: The Married Life, which will follow the post-wedding lives of the online show's stars. This marks the first time that reality web content has spawned a reality series on a television network, a move that executives say represents a new model for the cost-effective development of television programming.
The innovative 13 episode series will chronicle the ups and downs of life in a new marriage with web darlings Elle and Tito Figueroa, who are discovering the challenges of becoming a unified couple in all areas of their lives. Relationship issues, money concerns, starting careers and family stress are all part of The Figueroas' daily existence.
The series will explore a wide range of spousal challenges including pressure to expand their family, to get serious about their music career, and to learn to work through the conflicts that arise from living and working with your partner. The emotions will run the gamut from laughter to tears and the cameras will allow the viewers an unprecedented view into what it takes to make a relationship successful from the bottom up.
The interactive nature of Married on MySpace enabled MySpace users to influence almost every step and detail of a wedding, including casting the couple, selecting the bride's dress, choosing the couple's rings and picking the wedding location. The series consisted of 13 webisodes and concluded with a wedding ceremony where the key details chosen by the MySpace community were revealed.
The Endemol USA-produced web series generated more than one million votes from MySpace users, along with 15 million views -- making it the most-watched series done by MySpace -- and hundreds of thousands of MySpace friends for Elle and Tito Figueroa, the couple chosen to star in the webisodes by MySpace users.
The Si TV series will pick up where the web series left off, following Elle and Tito as they navigate the highs and lows of being newlyweds while trying to further their musical careers as singers and songwriters.
The new reality series will also serve as another groundbreaking "first" as Elle & Tito: The Married Life will have a launch on both Si TV and MySpace. The series will premiere on Monday, March 29, 2010 on Si TV, and MySpace will run original webisodes prior to each episode. Bonus content will also be available to fans on http://www.sitv.com throughout the series.
