The UltraCMOS® PE423422, PE423641 and PE42359 RF Switches Boast AEC-Q100 Grade 2 Certification for Automotive Applications
SAN DIEGO, April 7, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Peregrine Semiconductor Corp., founder of RF SOI (silicon on insulator) and pioneer of advanced RF solutions, introduces two new UltraCMOS® RF switches that expand its existing portfolio of solutions for automotive applications. Peregrine's PE423422 and PE423641 are the newest components to join the PE42359 in meeting the AEC-Q100 requirements for Grade 2, meaning qualification for operation in the temperature range of -40 to +105 degrees Celsius. The PE423422 and PE423641 are designed for automotive infotainment and traffic safety applications, such as multimode compenser modules for infotainment systems and emergency communication systems.

The PE423422 is a single-pole double throw (SPDT) RF switch that accommodates a frequency range between 100 MHz and 6 GHz with a high linearity of 73.5 dBm IIP3. It also has a high isolation of 44 dB @ 1 GHz, 29 dB @ 3 GHz and 20 dB @ 5 GHz. The low insertion loss of 0.25 dB @ 1 GHz, 0.40 dB @ 3 GHz, 0.65 dB @ 5 GHz and 0.90 dB @ 6 GHz helps make this switch ideal for automotive applications. Finally, the switch delivers ESD ratings of 1 kV HBM on all pins, 200V MM on all pins and 1kV CDM on all pins. The PE423641 is a single-pole four throw (SP4T) RF switch that accommodates a frequency range between 50 MHz to 3 GHz with excellent linearity of 68 dBm IIP3. It also has a high isolation of 32 dB @ 1 GHz and 25 dB @ 2.2 GHz and a low insertion loss of 0.50 dB @ 1 GHz and 0.65 dB @ 2.2 GHz. TSMC Certifies Mentor Graphics Tools for Early Design Start in TSMC's 10nm FinFET Technology

(NASDAQ: MENT) today announced that TSMC and Mentor Graphics have reached the first milestone of their collaboration on 10nm EDA certification. Calibre® physical verification and design for manufacturing (DFM) platform, and the Analog FastSPICE(TM) (AFS(TM)) Circuit Verification Platform, including AFS Mega, are certified by TSMC based on the most current version of 10nm design rules and SPICE models. New tool feature enhancement based on 10nm process requirements has been made in Olympus-SoC(TM) digital design platform with TSMC validation, and certification of full chip integration is actively on-going. In addition to 10nm, Mentor has also completed 16FF+ version 1.0 certification of the Calibre, Olympus-SoC and AFS platforms. These certifications provide designers with the earliest access to signoff technology optimized for TSMC's most advanced process nodes, with improved performance and accuracy.

Oracle India today announced that it is witnessing unprecedented demand for its cloud

highest and fastest adoption rate till date, with Platform as a Service (Paas) close

Toshiba Broadens Offering Of ARM Cortex-M4F-Based Microcontrollers For Secure Communications Control
New MCU includes advanced memory and security features for IoT and EMS devices
SAN JOSE, Calif., April 2, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Toshiba America Electronic Components, Inc. (TAEC)*, a committed leader that collaborates with technology companies to create breakthrough designs, today added a new microcontroller (MCU) to its TX04 line of products based on the ARM(®) Cortex(®)-M4F processor. Designed for secure communications control, the TMPM46BF10FG incorporates 514-Kbyte SRAM, four security circuits for network communications, and a single-level cell (SLC) NAND Flash memory controller for memory expansion.
"Users of secure communications control systems increasingly require firmware update management, failure analysis and high-precision data storage, as well as tamper detection, information concealment and other high-level security features," said Deepak Mithani, senior director, Mixed-Signal Business Unit, System LSI Group at TAEC. "Toshiba developed this new MCU specifically to address these demands, which are critical for IoT products and energy management system devices, as well as some industrial equipment."
The TMPM46BF10FG's ARM Cortex core is operable up to 120MHz. The MCU can be connected to an SLC NAND Flash memory with capacity ranging from 4Gb to 1Gb, and it includes 4- and 8-bit error correction circuits to detect and correct hardware errors. The IC also has a watchdog timer that operates along with a built-in clock separate from the system clock. This enables the watchdog timer to detect an error even if the system clock malfunctions.
The TMPM46BF10FB is housed in a LQFP100 package (14mm x 14mm x 0.5 mm pitch). Operating voltage ranges from 2.7V to 3.6V, with maximum operating frequency of 120MHz.
Other features of the new MCU include an encryption/decryption circuit (AES:FIPS197 standard), Hash function generation circuit (SHA: FIPS180-4 standard), and random seed generation circuit (ESG). Encryption/decryption is mainly processed by hardware, reducing the load on the CPU. The IC also implements a true random number generator (TRNG: SP800-90C standard) through the combination of the random seed generation circuit and Hash-DRGB created by the hash function generation circuit and the software program. This achieves the robust security function that is required in network communications.
Availability
Samples of the TMPM46BF10FG microcontroller have begun shipping. Mass production is slated to start in October 2015.
