Finnish Communications Regulatory Authority Approves Blancco 5 for Erasing Data From Solid State Drives

(FICORA) has approved Blancco 5

erasure of magnetic and solid-state hard drives (SSDs). This approval marks the first
acceptance of an SSD erasure product by a national authority.

drives and SSDs at security classification levels I-IV. Previously, FICORA's guidelines
stated that the only reliable means of removing data was physical destruction of the SSD.
