Autonomous Avionics Opens new Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (Drone) Manufacturing Facility in Denver
DENVER, April 29, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Autonomous Avionics announced today it has opened a small unmanned aerial vehicle (sUAV or drone) manufacturing facility in Denver to build custom sUAVs specifically designed to meet individual customers' needs. The company's new facility combines manufacturing, office space, and showroom to augment its on-line business.
"Small unmanned aerial vehicles is a game-changing technology for many reasons," said Bernie Hoffman, president of Autonomous Avionics. "We know there are boundless opportunities for UAV technology. American Innovations Introduces the Bullhorn® RM3012 Remote Monitor for Gas Compressors
Backup Battery Ensures Events' Alarming Even When Primary Power Source is Lost
AUSTIN, Texas, April 29, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- American Innovations (AI), protecting people and the environment with compliance solutions for the oil and gas industry, announces its Bullhorn RM3012 remote monitoring unit designed for gas compressors.
Gas compressor operators' primary concern is whether or not their compressor is pushing natural gas down the line. Failure to do so negatively impacts production, and ultimately profitability.
AI's Bullhorn RM3012 maximizes compressor uptime by quickly alerting customers - within minutes of a compressor failure - empowering them to take immediate action.
And, the RM3012's built-in backup battery ensures that even when the primary power source is compromised, customers continue to receive alarms.
In addition to providing fast, reliable alarming, the RM3012 reads annunciator alarm codes, RPMs, runtime, pressures, temperatures and other information via Modbus. It then communicates that data using a satellite network to AI's Bullhorn Web interface, Bullhorn Asset Tracker (BAT(TM)). BAT provides immediate, in-depth visibility of unit status and alarms; customers elect how they want to receive the data, via Web, email or text. The RM3012 is quick and easy to install, and is "Built Bullhorn Tough," enabling it to withstand extreme weather and corrosive conditions.
"Considering the billions of dollars our customers invest in compression and their ever-tightening equipment maintenance budgets, any increase in efficiency can have a significant financial impact," says Ed Kruft, American Innovations' President. "The Bullhorn RM3012 can provide that efficiency boost by effectively monitoring our customers' compressor performance and maximizing compressor uptime."

Consumer Physics Launches SCiO To Demystify Our Material World
Pocket-Sized Scanner Reads Molecular Fingerprint of Food, Pharmaceuticals, and More
MENLO PARK, Calif. and TEL-AVIV, Israel, April 29, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Consumer Physics today unveiled SCiO, a handheld sensor that scans the molecular fingerprint of physical matter and instantly provides useful information about its chemical makeup. SCiO delivers real-time results to its mobile application on the user's smartphone via Bluetooth LE.
"Smartphones give us instant answers to questions like where to have dinner, what movie to see, and how to get from point A to point B, but when it comes to learning about what we interact with on a daily basis we're left in the dark," said Dror Sharon, CEO of Consumer Physics. "We designed SCiO to empower explorers everywhere with new knowledge and to encourage them to join our mission of mapping the physical world."
To generate greater awareness among early adopters of consumer technology, the company is launching SCiO through a Kickstarter campaign today. Early backers can preorder the device for $149. To learn more about SCiO and to pre-order a unit today, please visit the crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter at https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/903107259/1065249597?token647a18.
When the product ships to consumers this fall, SCiO will include apps to help users identify the composition of food, medication, and plants. The food app delivers macro nutrient values (calories, fats, carbohydrates, and proteins), produce quality, ripeness, and spoilage analysis for various foods, including cheeses, fruits, vegetables, sauces, salad dressings, cooking oils, and more. SCiO can also identify and authenticate medication in real-time by cross-checking a pill's molecular makeup with a database of medications. Finally, SCiO can analyze moisture levels in plants and tell users when to water them.
Consumer Physics will also support an Application Development Kit for third-party developers to start exploring their world. Developers can design and custom-build their own unique smartphone apps or physical form factors. The materials SCiO can analyze are endless, including cosmetics, clothes, flora, soil, jewels and precious stones, leather, rubber, oils, plastics, and even human tissue or bodily fluids.
Consumer Physics has taken near-IR spectroscopy, a proven technology behind expensive laboratory-grade spectrometers, and designed SCiO from the ground up to be mass-produced at low cost. When light shines on a sample, it excites the sample's molecules and makes them vibrate in a unique way. The wavelength-dependent light absorption of the molecules creates optical signatures according to an object's chemical composition. When SCiO collects the light reflected from a sample, it breaks it down to spectral components for analysis. Sent to the cloud via Bluetooth connection, the spectrum is analyzed by advanced algorithms in real-time. SCiO translates the results within a matter of seconds, delivering relevant information about the sample's molecular makeup to your smartphone.
"With SCiO, Consumer Physics is launching their first game-changing consumer product. I believe this product will have greater impact than the USB flash-drive! Its near future and far future potential impacts on people's life are tremendous," said Dov Moran, the first seed investor in the company. Dov is the inventor of the USB flash-drive, and founder and CEO of Comigo, the future TV company. Previously Dov was founder of Modu, the modular phone company and of M-Systems, which was acquired by Sandisk for $1.6B.

Xerox Delivers New Ways to Unlock, Protect Enterprise's Most Important Asset - Information
Knowledge workers can avoid digital landfill by harnessing paper, data
NORWALK, CT, April 29, 2014 /CNW/ - Knowledge capital is the currency of
business today, and organizations that leverage their critical
information effectively hold a significant competitive advantage. Xerox has responded with new ways for enterprises to assess, protect and
leverage their information when and wherever needed - not only to save
money, but to ultimately improve client relationships and develop
innovative and stronger offerings.
Xerox's latest services are designed to:
-- Analyze how and why documents are printed and use that
intelligence to change the way information is accessed.
-- Increase information security without disrupting the IT
infrastructure.
-- Make
mobile printing
easier and more convenient.
-- Evaluate, simplify and improve everyday document-intensive
business processes through workflow automation.
"As an enterprise's knowledge capital grows - in both paper and
electronic form - the challenge of unlocking it increases
exponentially. Without proper management it becomes lost since it lives
in so many places and formats," said Mike Feldman, president, Large Enterprise Operations, Xerox. "Our three-stage
strategy - assess and optimize, secure and integrate, and automate and simplify - continues to evolve with these new offerings. The enhancements help
clients manage their information demands more effectively, especially
in the area of security and automating document workflows."
The enhanced services include:
-- Xerox Secure Print Manager Suite, powered by
Nuance
Equitrac, cost-effectively integrates print security, control
and reporting capabilities - such as user authentication,
secure document release, job tracking, chargeback and
accounting, and print rules and routing - without disrupting
existing IT infrastructure. Capabilities can be licensed
individually or across any number of Xerox or non-Xerox
devices, depending on the organization's needs.
-- Xerox Document Analytics Services explain how, whereand why
documents are used. Insights are culled from multiple sources -
data from devices and print jobs, audits of filed and unfiled
paper and client interviews that uncover printing "behaviors."
Based on the findings, Xerox partners with its clients to
digitize content and capture information so organizations don't
replace a paper landfill with a digital landfill.
-- Xerox Workflow Assessment Servicesdemonstrate how documents
move within an organization and provide insights to create more
efficient processes. For example, an assessment may uncover
that student loan processing could take 50 percent less time if
information is easier to locate and is scanned rather than
printed. Leveraging client input and metrics from document and
device usage, the service helps organizations turn process into
productivity, to save money and improve customer relationships.
Additional Enhancements
A free software upgrade on the Xerox WorkCentre® 3325 multifunction printer (MFP) offers a common set of access,
productivity, management and security features to further protect and
optimize print environments. Customers gain an even stronger
integration with Xerox's managed print services for improved efficiency and cost savings.
Xerox ConnectKey® 1.5 technology enabled printers and MFPs will soon be certified by the Mopria Alliance, an organization that promotes, simplifies and increases accessibility
of wireless printing from smartphones, tablets and other mobile
devices. Printing on-the-go is made easier without having to manually
connect to a device or install software.
Availability
Xerox Document Analytics Services and Xerox Workflow Assessment Services
are available to customers of Xerox's Enterprise Print Services in the
U.S., Canada and Europe.
Xerox Secure Print Manager Suite is available for customers of Xerox's
Enterprise Print Services in the U.S., Canada, Europe and Developing
Markets Operations.
Xerox ConnectKey 1.5 technology will be offered worldwide as a software
upgrade for all existing ConnectKey enabled printers and MFPs by early
June 2014.

Photorelays provide design engineers with fast switching speed, high reliability, lower power consumption, and noise-free operation in a space-saving package, making them an alternative to mechanical relays. Consisting of a photo MOSFET optically coupled to an infrared light emitting diode, the new photorelay utilizes the latest generation trench MOSFET to realize an approximately 1.4 times higher on-state current than Toshiba's existing product, the TLP3103. This performance, combined with a 3.3A (max.) output, will accelerate the replacement of mechanical relays in applications that require high density assembly. Replacing a 3A-capable DIP package with the 2.54SOP6 package reduces the assembly area by 40 percent, and the overall product height by half.

Beam Me Up! Gigas Pioneers New Technology that instantly zaps Running Virtual Servers from one continent to another
"Teletransportation" to reduce enterprise cloud infrastructure costs by at least 50 percent while optimizing speed and flexibility
MIAMI and MADRID, April 29, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Gigas, Spain's leading cloud hosting provider with 3,000 customers and offices in five countries, announced a new product today that will dramatically change the way global enterprises allocate their cloud resources. Gigas Teletransportation allows organizations to instantly and seamlessly migrate virtual cloud servers from one continent to another with the simple click of a mouse, without rebooting the server or changing the IP address.
"What we're talking about is the ability for companies to instantly shift and adapt their cloud resources to coincide with changes in global traffic," said Diego Cabezudo, Founder and CEO, Gigas. "This enables peak performance around-the-clock without the need for duplicating servers in multiple geographic areas. That simple difference can cut costs for many companies by 50 percent while optimizing speed, service and business continuity. The fact that it can be done without rebooting the machine or changing its public IP address is unique in the world and further validates Gigas as both a service and technological leader in the enterprise cloud space."
Teletransportation is available for all Gigas Cloud Datacenter customers in Europe and Latin America. Unlike virtual machine migration offerings from other providers (which are limited to the same datacenter or zone), Gigas clients can transport running, virtual machines from one continent to another as many times a day as required, no public IP address changes, reboots or special training required. EZchip Highlights NPS Opportunities in Emerging White Box Networking
YOKNEAM, Israel, April 29, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --
EZchip Semiconductor Ltd. (NASDAQ:EZCH), a leader in high-performance network
processors, is highlighting new opportunities for its NPS, Network Processors for Smart
networks, brought about through powerful new trends in the networking market. EZchip's
NPS, already publicized as providing distinct performance acceleration for SDN and NFV
networks (for details visit http://www.ezchip.com ) is now also gaining momentum as
the powerful silicon core for white box networking solutions. By utilizing the NPS, a wide
variety of network applications can be attained with off-the-shelf white boxes at
unprecedented performance and functionality. White boxes represent new market
opportunities for the NPS and add on to the established markets of proprietary networking
equipment for carrier and data-center networks already addressed by the NPS. EZchip will
discuss the NPS in the context of white boxes in the upcoming Network Virtualization and
SDN World on May 27-30 in London, and at the Linley Group Carrier Conference on June 10-11
in Santa Clara, California.
As new network architectures based on SDN and NFV are emerging as the way forward for
carrier and data-center networks, a related trend for white box systems is gaining
momentum. As opposed to proprietary networking equipment provided by the established
vendors, white boxes are systems from non-branded manufacturers (ODMs) that build
off-the-shelf hardware. The particular networking function of the white box is determined
through the software downloaded to the white box and is typically provided by application
software vendors. White boxes may be deployed as servers, top-of-rack switches, network
appliances and more. As SDN and NFV fuel the migration to software-based virtual network
functions, they also unleash broad opportunities for white boxes on which the software
network functions can run. Underscoring the promise of SDN and NFV to reduce OPEX and
CAPEX, white-box networking further drives down cost and sets off an ecosystem of hardware
and software vendors.
The key to enabling the migration to white-box networking is the availability of
powerful merchant chips that are used at the core of the white box. The use of merchant
chips such as the NPS provides richer functionality at higher throughput, while enabling a
wider range of virtual functions that can be deployed on the white box and bring greater
value to the network operator.
Utilizing EZchip's NPS at the core of white-box systems gives ODM vendors and software
application vendors great differentiation versus alternate systems that are typically
based on non-programmable switching silicon with limited functionality or on CPUs with
limited performance. NPS marks a unique combination of NPU performance coupled with CPU
functionality. High throughput of 400 Gigabit-per-second, C-programming, Linux(R)
operating system and 7-layer packet processing accelerate data-plane processing and unlock
virtual functions to unprecedented functionality and performance levels. These functions
include switching, routing, advanced classification, traffic management, ACLs (access
control lists), stateful flow tables, load balancing, security (firewall, IPsec & SSL
VPNs), DPI (deep packet inspection), network monitoring, application recognition,
subscriber management, TCP termination, and network overlay termination.
"While white-boxes underscore that in the networking market the main value lies in the
silicon and the software, EZchip's NPS stands out as the most powerful network processing
silicon, ideal for white box solutions," said Amir Eyal, VP Business Development of
EZchip. "Optimized proprietary hardware will continue to dominate high-end systems such as
edge routers for the foreseeable future. NPS is therefore targeting both the white boxes
from the ODM vendors and the proprietary platforms from the recognized networking
equipment vendors. With network bandwidth and functionality continuously growing, EZchip
is well positioned to benefit from both approaches. EZchip is engaged with diverse
software and hardware vendors to enable the delivery of NPS based white boxes to empower a
wide range of applications in carrier and data-center networks. This is in addition to our
on-going engagements with the networking equipment vendors that we target with the NPS for
their next generation networking products."

Criteo Releases Complete Personalized Mobile Advertising Solution Across All Leading Browsers and App Platforms
-New capability critically important for advertisers seeing explosion in mobile sales via tablets
-Criteo now generating over $1B in post-click mobile sales for customers on an annual run-rate
-Criteo now delivers end-to-end performance advertising solution across online, mobile web and mobile apps for both iOS and Android platforms
PALO ALTO, Calif., April 29, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Criteo (NASDAQ: CRTO), a leading global technology company that specializes in digital performance advertising, today announced the global availability of a complete mobile advertising solution. As consumers continue to transition to tablets and smartphones like the iPad and iPhone, Criteo helps marketers deliver more sales through personalized mobile ads in both browsers and apps. As part of this unique solution, Criteo works closely with clients to deliver a transparent, cookie-based solution that allows advertisers to serve personalized dynamic ads on Safari mobile web browsers, while empowering users to make a relevant choice regarding their browsing experience.
"Travelzoo's strategic direction as a business is to act and think 'mobile first' - this step change over the past two years has contributed to an increase of more than 100% in mobile traffic to our deals. Overall more than 40% of all traffic now comes from mobile devices and over half of this traffic is from the iOS platform. As the Travelzoo business continues to innovate and improve its mobile offering we are committed to working with partners such as Criteo who understand the challenges and enormous opportunities inherent in mobile. Working with Criteo enables us to effectively target and engage with our audience in the mobile space," said Joel Brandon-Bravo, managing director at Travelzoo in the UK.
According to IBM's Black Friday Report 2013, sales on mobile devices continue to skyrocket. The study reported that 21.8 percent of all online sales came through a mobile device, which represents a year-over-year increase of 43 percent. The spike in tablet adoption is a key contributor to the growth in mobile sales and tablet shipments are now exceeding those of desktops or laptops. As a result, it's critically important for marketers to effectively reach and engage this growing mobile audience through mobile web browsers and in-app advertising.
Criteo introduced its in-app advertising solution in January and has seen rapid month-over-month growth. The product is now live and gaining traction in the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Brazil and elsewhere. The momentum of Criteo's in-app solution combined with its strong and growing traction in mobile web proves that mobile advertising is driving significant sales results. In fact, Criteo is now generating over $1 billion in post-click mobile sales for its customers on an annual run-rate.
Driving a Consistent & Transparent User Experience, Regardless of Browser
Criteo's complete mobile solution ensures that users receive personalized, relevant ads regardless of the web browser. The company is a pioneer in providing consumer transparency over ad choices and helps users manage this by placing an interactive icon on all Criteo ads. Its technology uses information based on previous browsing behavior such as product viewed. With its innovative Safari solution, Criteo took a similar user-friendly approach. When a user browses a client's website with Safari and doesn't have a Criteo cookie, Criteo will display an informative banner that notifies the user that their browser blocks some third-party cookies by default and that subsequently clicking on the website will allow Criteo to place its cookies and serve personalize ads. After having accepted Criteo cookies by clicking on the website, the user is shown a second notice that offers them the ability to revert their choice in the event that they change their mind.
"Web Browser settings that prevent some third-party cookies by default make the delivery of relevant and customized advertising more difficult," said Mike Zaneis, Executive Vice President, Public Policy & General Counsel, IAB. "The IAB believes advertising companies delivering solutions that empower users to make informed decisions about their browsing experience and enable relevant customized ads are a benefit to the entire industry. One effective way to approach this question is by proactively displaying information to website visitors about the type of cookies used, how they are delivered and the options for managing. These innovative initiatives are also a great example of the self-regulatory programs favored by the Obama administration."
"Our customers have been asking for a comprehensive solution for mobile advertising, so we're delighted to announce the release of support for all browsers. Criteo has worked hard to deliver a unique solution that enables a privacy-centric cookie-based solution for Safari - the default mobile web browser for the most popular tablet and smartphone. This builds on our existing mobile browser technologies and is a powerful complement to our in-app and online offerings," said Jonathan Wolf, Chief Product Officer at Criteo. "With the introduction of new advertising capabilities, it's also important for us to reaffirm Criteo's commitment to upholding the highest levels of consumer privacy. Privacy considerations are at the very center of everything we do, and we aim to deliver fantastic results for our clients, while ensuring consumers have privacy, transparency and control."

G-SHOCK Partners with Pacifist Military Design Brand, Maharishi, for Third Collaboration
DOVER, N.J., April 28, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- This April, Maharishi and G-SHOCK have collaborated for the third time on a special limited edition G-SHOCK model. This new collaborative timepiece pushes the boundaries of G-SHOCK's print technology and developed the ability to print patterns on an even greater surface area of the watch's strap and bezel, perfect for applying DPM patterns with a greater level of detail than was previously possible. The watch model is perfectly suited for a pattern as intricate as Maharishi's DPM: Lunar Bonsai.
Maharishi's Spring Summer 2014 collection continues to explore the culture of the Pacifist Prepper, focusing on the Lunar Effect. In essence bio-dynamic farming considers the energy of water and position of the moon to achieve a 30% greater yield than standard organic farming, a useful technique for the totally self sufficient Prepper. The position of the moon and other planets has an enormous electro magnetic effect on the Earth, as well as its plants, plant growth and people.
As well as being clad in a lunar infused pattern the watch also features auto LED super illumination (ideal for use during lunar observations), a military spec gel shock resistance structure, super tough resin strap 200M water resistance, 10 year battery life, multi-home time; all features much valued by any genuine Pacifist Prepper.
"We are elated to be offering another collaboration between G-SHOCK and Maharishi," said Shigenori Itoh, Chairman and CEO of Casio America, Inc. "It is clear that based on the success of the first two collaborations between the two power-house brands, that this a keen interest for our customers and we are confident that this collaboration will be just as successful as the first two."
The G-SHOCK x Maharishi collaborative timepiece will retail for $130 beginning May 2014 at select fashion boutiques, key jewelry stores, the G-SHOCK Soho NYC store and http://www.g-shock.com.
About G-SHOCK
CASIO's shock-resistant G-SHOCK watch is synonymous with toughness, born from the developer Mr. Ibe's dream of 'creating a watch that never breaks'. Over 200 handmade samples were created and tested to destruction until finally in 1983 the first, now iconic G-SHOCK hit the streets of Japan and began to establish itself as 'the toughest watch of all time'. Each watch encompasses the 7 elements; electric shock resistance, gravity resistance, low temperature resistance, vibration resistance, water resistance, shock resistance and toughness. The watch is packed with Casio innovations and technologies to prevent it from suffering direct shock; this includes internal components protected with urethane and suspended timekeeping modules inside the watch structure. Since its launch, G-SHOCK has continued to evolve, continuing to support on Mr. Ibe's mantra "never, never give up".
About Maharishi
Founded by Hardy Blechman in 1994, Maharishi carries a strong ethos of respect for nature while utilizing the latest technology. The brand's authentic utilitarian aesthetic rapidly propelled it onto the international design stage and after a decade of research in 2004 Blechman published DPM: Disruptive Pattern Material, a 900 page comprehensive encyclopedia of camouflage, which demonstrated the fact that camouflage has its roots in nature, natural history and art, rather than the military. Since 2004 Blechman has used DPM as a vehicle to spread the use of camouflage within culture, slowly helping to reclaim its symbolic value away from the military.

CPI's N-Series TeraFrame® Features Complete Airflow Isolation Like No Other Cabinet in the Industry Today
-- Provides the Ultimate in Equipment Support, Regardless of Size or Model
WESTLAKE VILLAGE, California, April 28, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Support and protect network switches regardless of size, model or airflow requirements with the newly redesigned N-Series TeraFrame(®) Gen 3 Cabinet System by Chatsworth Products (CPI). Taking equipment management one step further, the N-Series TeraFrame supports the deployment of different sized devices within one cabinet without the need for additional accessory kits, while providing complete airflow isolation.
The N-Series TeraFrame is a network cabinet for high-density network and storage switches that fully integrates into any data centre containment strategy, providing complete airflow isolation like no other cabinet in the industry today. Its flexible, progressive design meets the demanding thermal requirements of next-generation network switches as well.
Complete isolation is achieved through integrated internal air dams that are available in four pre-configured solutions that support front-to-rear or side-to-side airflow through equipment. The cabinet integrates with aisle containment solutions or use CPI's Vertical Exhaust Duct to direct hot exhaust air out of the top of the cabinet when necessary. A universal solution is available for side airflow switches, which eliminate the need to order switch-specific thermal management accessories, reducing planning complexity.
Additionally, high-density cable management is achieved by a unique frame design with dual front-to-rear supports, which provide space for large bundles of cable alongside rack-mount equipment. These dual slides provide maximum flexibility for mounting and positioning vertical cable and power management accessories, as well as the attachment of overhead cable pathway and containment structures - without affecting airflow.
Additional cable management enhancements include large, full-depth cable entry ports on the top panel, T-shaped cable guides on the front mounting rails and a front-to-rear cable manager to organise cables. All cable openings block bypass airflow with a choice of brushed or plastic grommets.
The new N-Series TeraFrame meets UL 2416 and provides a static load rating of 2500 lb (1134 kg). It can be added seamlessly alongside CPI's F-Series TeraFrame Gen 3 or the GF-Series GlobalFrame(®) Gen 2 Cabinets.
Protect and extend the life of your switches with CPI's newly redesigned N-Series TeraFrame Gen 3 Cabinet System. For additional information and a complete list of features and accessories, visit the product page.

Ruckus Redefines the Wi-Fi Price/Performance Paradigm for the Small Business and Managed Service Markets
New ZoneFlex R300 Combines High Capacity and High Performance Smart Wi-Fi to Give Organizations the Ideal Entry Point into Enterprise Class Wi-Fi Services
SUNNYVALE, Calif., April 28, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Ruckus Wireless, Inc. (NYSE: RKUS) announced today the immediate availability of the new Ruckus ZoneFlex(TM) R300, one of the industry's highest performing and lowest cost dual-band, two-stream 802.11n Smart Wi-Fi indoor access points (APs) capable of delivering an aggregate data rate of up to 600 Mbps. Aimed at the price-sensitive small business market, the R300 is also ideally suited for small venues and enterprises with many branch locations.
With Cloud computing and the proliferation of embedded Wi-Fi in all types of devices, Wi-Fi has become a mission-critical utility for small businesses. As a result, they are now replacing SOHO-class, standalone access points with more robust, enterprise-grade wireless LAN (WLAN) solutions that are simple to deploy and operate while meeting their budget requirements.
Developed to directly address these issues, the Ruckus R300 redefines Wi-Fi for the low end of the WLAN market by combining cost-effectiveness with a rich collection of enterprise functionality and enterprise-class service and support options.
"With the R300, we are enabling our channel partners and managed service providers to reach further into the 'S' part of the SMB market with a highly differentiated and compelling enterprise-grade solution at a disruptive price point," said Selina Lo, President and CEO of Ruckus Wireless.
"Combined with SAMS, our Cloud controller service, the R300 provides a whole new economics model to customers and partners. They are the first in a comprehensive solution roadmap we've developed to expand our market reach," Lo concluded.
U.S. Census data shows that there are more than 6 million businesses in operation today with less than 100 employees each in the U.S. alone, and according to the most recent report on the WLAN market from the Dell'Oro Group, WLAN revenues for the small business market in 2013 reached over $4.5 billion, with over 100 million APs shipped worldwide.
The Ideal Component for Cloud-Based Wi-Fi Access
The Ruckus ZoneFlex R300 is the only AP in its class to integrate patented adaptive antenna technology to extend the range, performance and reliability of Wi-Fi at one of the most attractive price points in the industry. Deployed as a standalone access point or part of a centrally managed Ruckus WLAN, the R300 is also an ideal access component for organizations looking to migrate to new Cloud-based Wi-Fi access services such as the recently announced Ruckus Smart Access Management Service (SAMS).
Supported across the entire range of Ruckus management platforms including the ZoneDirector(TM) and SmartCell(TM) Gateway (SCG), the ZoneFlex R300 gives organizations a wide range of flexible deployment options that best suit their specific requirements.
R300 Product Details
The ZoneFlex R300 is a dual-band, two-stream 802.11n access point capable of supporting up to 256 active connections. Each R300 uniquely integrates Ruckus-patented BeamFlex(TM), a software-controlled, high gain directional antenna array system that continually forms and directs each packet over the best performing signal path, automatically adapting Wi-Fi signals to constant environmental changes to ensure the highest levels of range, reliability and client performance.
Within a sleek, lightweight and low profile form factor that fits in the palm of your hand, the R300 is ideal for small business use. The R300 comes with a limited lifetime warranty and features a myriad of advanced capabilities not available in competitive alternatives, such as network address translation (NAT) and DHCP services, optimized video streaming, per-use rate limiting, band steering, client load balancing, standard Power over Ethernet (PoE) support and advanced quality of services support for automatic prioritization of delay sensitive traffic.
Pricing and Availability
Now shipping worldwide, the Ruckus ZoneFlex R300 access point is priced at USD $395.00 (MSRP).

Atmel Extends Industry Leading maXTouch T Series with the Market's Highest Performance Touchscreen Controller
New T Series Devices Deliver Unparalleled Touch Performance for 7 - 8.9" Touchscreens
SAN JOSE, Calif., April 28, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Atmel(®) Corporation (NASDAQ: ATML), a leader in microcontroller (MCU) and touch technology solutions, today announced production of the mXT106xT2 family of devices, expanding the company's popular maXTouch(®) T series of touchscreen controllers. The new touchscreen controllers incorporate all of the latest features flagship smartphones have with hover, stylus, superior noise immunity, but now are available in the larger format market for screen sizes of 7 - 8.9". Atmel's maXTouch is the only product available today to enable finger hover up to 20mm on devices larger than a smartphone. This capability allows the user to interact with their device without physically making contact with the screen through gestures, zoom, etc.
The T Series incorporates Atmel's Adaptive Sensing technology to enable dynamic touch classification, a feature that automatically and intelligently switches between self- and mutual-capacitance sensing to provide users a seamless transition between a finger touch, hover, passive or active stylus or glove touch. It eliminates the need for users to manually enable 'glove mode' in the operating system to differentiate between hover and glove modes. Additionally, Adaptive Sensing dramatically reduces the power consumption in the device allowing for longer battery life. The mXT106xT2 offer these features required in today's tablet devices including 0.4mm thin cover lenses and multifinger glove support for users in cold weather climates. For users who seek the extensive benefits in going paperless, the mXT106xT2 also offers stylus capabilities in either active stylus through Atmel's maXStylus or passive stylus with a 1mm tip to facilitate more precise selection.
This mid-size performance tablet space is the fastest growing market in the touchscreen world currently with CAGRs over 30 percent, expecting to top 160Mu in 2014. Atmel has already shown success in these screen sizes with design wins at ASUS, Lenovo, LG and Toshiba to name a few. This market growth stems from Intel's recent reference designs, Windows 8.1 adoption and improving general user experience for balancing convenience with a larger screen size to better view your content.
The 106xT2 enables the same performance features of Atmel's T Series maXTouch controllers, while also enabling capacitive button, slider and wheel control through the embedded hardware module known as the Peripheral Touch Controller (PTC). This feature allows systems to integrate these capacitive buttons without tying up nodes from the touch controller, performing with improved noise immunity, no external components and lower power than when implemented in firmware.
"We are excited to be releasing the highest performance touchscreen controller with this addition to our T Series product just as this market is exploding," said Patrick Hanley, Touch Marketing Manager, Atmel Corporation. "With the increasing demand for user functionality with hover, glove, PTC and stylus support, the extension of the T Series further prepares OEMs to be one step closer to making the consumer's dream a reality."
Availability
The new devices in the maXTouch T Series are in production now and the 8.3" screen size evaluation kit will be available in May. These will show hover, stylus (both active and passive), and PTC support using the latest maXStudio tools. Please contact your local sales support to get your hands on one.

Polaroid Fotobar Celebrates Grand Opening of Las Vegas Flagship, Museum
The special day was capped off with an evening reception that featured many special guests, including Penn & Teller.
LAS VEGAS, April 25, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Friends, family, journalists, executives, politicians, artists and more than 200 other special guests gathered last night to commemorate the grand opening of Polaroid Fotobar's newest flagship location and The Polaroid Museum at The LINQ in Las Vegas. The extraordinary evening was made all the more memorable by the appearance of Penn & Teller, who performed their much-loved levitation trick, capturing it all on their Polaroid camera to the delight and awe of fellow Polaroid aficionados.
Following a ribbon-cutting ceremony led by Warren Struhl, Fotobar's founder and CEO, guests were led upstairs to a reception at The Polaroid Museum. Friends and family mixed, mingled and toasted to the company's latest achievement, all the while surrounded by some of the most beautiful, elaborate and interesting Polaroid photography and artifacts.
"This evening marked an incredible launch to our future as we begin to expand rapidly primarily through global franchise partners," Struhl said. "Our Las Vegas flagship and The Polaroid Museum perfectly marry Polaroid's storied past with its exciting future."
Last night's guests were even able to see the 20x24 Polaroid camera in action as three lucky raffle winners had their photos taken with one of the last three of these cameras still in operation today. Three minutes after the camera stopped flashing, their portraits of a lifetime were ready to take home.
Some of The Polaroid Museum's most distinguished artists were also on-hand during the day-long public celebration. Marc Serota, Tim Mantoani and Maripol graciously signed books and chatted with Polaroid Fotobar customers, discussing the one subject that was on everyone's mind, the timelessness of the Polaroid picture.
"Polaroid Fotobar and The Polaroid Museumare evidence that a brand which revolutionized an entire industry more than 75 years ago, has not only stood the test of time, but has proven that well-executed, innovative concepts will always be en vogue, no matter how a culture - or medium - changes," said Todd Fine, president of Fotobar.
Visitors who chose to take advantage of the museum's free admission yesterday were among the first to see the new Andy Warhol wax figurine, on loan from Madame Tussauds London. The figurine will be stationed on the store's first level through Aug. 1, but the artist made a special one-time appearance in the museum for the grand opening celebration.

Semirara Coal Mine in Philippines Deploys RADWIN's Wireless Broadband Solutions
RADWIN's High-Capacity Point-to-Point Solutions Operate Non-Stop in Harsh Conditions
TEL AVIV, Israel, April 25, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --
RADWIN (http://www.radwin.com), the global provider of sub-6 GHz broadband
wireless solutions, today announced that the RADWIN 2000 high-capacity point-to-point
solutions were chosen and deployed by the Semirara Mining Corporation - the largest coal
mine in the Philippines. The Semirara coal mine is using RADWIN 2000 systems to create a
private network to provide voice and data services to offices scattered across the mine
site. EBDI, a leading system integrator based in the Philippines, was selected by Semirara
Mining Corporation and managed the entire installation.
George San Pedro, Semirara Mining Corporation's mine site Resident Manager: "This
network is extremely important as it provides the basis of our communications in the
mining site. Therefore we had to select a networking solution that would provide the
utmost capacity, performance and robustness to withstand the harsh conditions in the coal
mine and the volatile weather in the Philippines. RADWIN's equipment was installed in
record time, and we are very pleased with the equipment's performance and durability. Even
when typhoon Haiyan hit the area, RADWIN's systems weathered the super force and continued
to provide us with the high-capacity connectivity that we have come to rely on."
RADWIN 2000 point-to-point solutions deliver 250 Mbps net throughput for long ranges
and incorporate advanced technologies such as OFDM, MIMO, a unique air interface to
mitigate interference and operate in non-line-of-sight (NLOS) scenarios.
EBDI Philippines General Manager, Gilbert Paggabao: "When Semirara turned to us to
connect dispersed mining offices we knew that only RADWIN's radios were up to the
challenge. RADWIN's solutions perform exceptionally well, especially considering the harsh
environment of the island and the humidity, salt and coal particles that are abundant in
the coal mines."
Maurice Illouz, RADWIN's General Manager APAC: "Our equipment has been a trusted
source of communications for mining, utility and federal government agencies as well as
humanitarian relief operations that require high-performing, reliable and rapidly
deployable systems. We have an extensive track record in serving the mining sector with
solutions for both fixed and mobile applications, and we are proud to count the Semirara
coal mine amongst our rapidly expanding customer base."

FPC Launches FPC1021, a new Touch Sensor for Android and Windows Mobile Devices
GOTHENBURG, Sweden, April 25, 2014 /PRNewswire / -- Fingerprint Cards (FPC) today launches FPC1021, the smallest touch fingerprint sensor to date from FPC. Building on the previously announced FPC1020 technology and our related market success, FPC1021 extends the FPC Touch sensor range. FPC1021 is more than 30% smaller in size than the previously launched FPC1020 and comes pre-integrated with software and matching algorithms for Android and Windows, in order to facilitate minimal effort for integration with device OEMs. FPC1021 combines industry-leading performance with an aggressive reduction in sensor size compared with FPC1020. Despite the smaller size, FPC1021's industry-leading performance has been possible thanks to major advancements in the matching algorithm that comes embedded with FPC1021. FPC1021's small size enables device OEMs to freely integrate a touch fingerprint sensor into devices in cases where the device has physical constraints in accommodating a touch fingerprint sensor.
Complete FPC1021 LGA sensors were sampled a few weeks ago and the first deliveries of engineering samples to customers are starting now. Thanks to the highly scalable architecture of FPC's touch fingerprint sensor technology, which enables extensive reuse of the FPC1020 technology, mass-market manufacturing will start during the third quarter of 2014, less than three months later than the equivalent for FPC1020.
Jorgen Lantto, Executive Vice President, CTO and Head of Strategy & Product Management at FPC, comments: "With FPC1021, FPC is demonstrating that we are serious in our aim of leading the deployment of touch fingerprint sensors for Android and Windows device OEMs. As previously announced, our first touch fingerprint sensor FPC1020 is now becoming integrated in the first commercial mobile devices, and with FPC1021 our objective is to further extend our leading position and confirm FPC as the market leader in touch fingerprint sensors. FPC intends to continue to develop and launch globally best-in-class touch and swipe sensor variants in the months and quarters to come."

FPC Launches FPC1021, a new Touch Sensor for Android and Windows Mobile Devices
GOTHENBURG, Sweden, April 25, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --
Fingerprint Cards (FPC) today launches FPC1021, the smallest touch fingerprint sensor
to date from FPC. Building on the previously announced FPC1020 technology and our related
market success, FPC1021 extends the FPC Touch sensor range. FPC1021 is more than 30%
smaller in size than the previously launched FPC1020 and comes pre-integrated with
software and matching algorithms for Android and Windows, in order to facilitate minimal
effort for integration with device OEMs. FPC1021 combines industry-leading performance
with an aggressive reduction in sensor size compared with FPC1020. Despite the smaller
size, FPC1021's industry-leading performance has been possible thanks to major
advancements in the matching algorithm that comes embedded with FPC1021. FPC1021's small
size enables device OEMs to freely integrate a touch fingerprint sensor into devices in
cases where the device has physical constraints in accommodating a touch fingerprint
sensor.
