NetDimensions' Latest EKP Release Takes Next Step Toward Compliance in Healthcare
HONG KONG, Dec. 3, 2010 /PRNewswire-Asia-FirstCall/ -- NetDimensions
(London Stock Exchange, AIM:NETD), a global provider of performance, knowledge
and Learning Management Systems (LMS), announced today the release of version
6.3 of the Enterprise Knowledge Platform (EKP), the company's award-winning
learning management system.
EKP 6.3 includes functionality that will help organizations in the
pharmaceutical industry ensure their compliance with the U.S. Food and Drug
Administration's Code of Federal Regulations Title 21, Part 11, more commonly
known as 21 CFR Part 11.
This latest EKP release also includes new features such as a user-
configurable EKP homepage, enhanced appraisal functionality, and support for
Adobe Acrobat Connect Pro.
"EKP 6.3 reflects the NetDimensions way of doing things," says Al Bejcek,
Senior Manager for Product Marketing at NetDimensions. "Its features are a
collaborative result of our Engineering team's product research and
development efforts, actual client requirements, and a conscious drive towards
integration with emerging technology products," he adds.
21 CFR Part 11 Compliance
EKP 6.3 signals NetDimensions' entry into the 21 CFR Part 11 compliance
domain.
"21 CFR Part 11 involves U.S. FDA requirements with regard to electronic
signatures and audit reports in the highly regulated healthcare,
pharmaceutical and medical device industries," explains Bejcek.
"We're enabling companies to use the powerful features of EKP to
streamline their compliance process so they can get 21 CFR Part 11
certification. Considering NetDimensions' strong focus in regulatory
compliance and certification, such as what we do for the aviation sector in
several countries, this was a logical 'next step' for us."
Learn, Assess, Personalize
NetDimensions EKP 6.3 release also adds a number of new features to the
company's flagship LMS, including:
-- Appraisal System Enhancements
NetDimensions worked with two clients
separately on their very different requirements for their performance
appraisal systems, and incorporated the best features of these
customization projects to come up with the new extensive and
user-friendly appraisal functionality in EKP 6.3.
-- Personalize Your Homepage
EKP administrators can now more easily
configure user and user-group homepages using drag-and-drop controls
with a library of widgets (News, Enrolled Learning Modules, Calendar,
etc.).
-- New Ways to Take a Course
Keeping an eye on emerging technologies in
the market, NetDimensions has integrated Adobe Connect Pro sessions
with EKP, enabling a client in the public sector to forward
session-related data back to EKP, and the recording and automatic
archiving of webinars.
-- Exam Module Updates
Enhancements to question and exam schedule
management in EKP give administrators and users more control and
information about exams. These updates also apply to NetDimensions
standalone exam delivery system, the Enterprise Assessment Platform
(EAP).
A Stronger Family of Products
In line with these recent product developments, NetDimensions redesigned
the company's product logos to capture the evolution of its suite of
performance, knowledge and learning management solutions: the EKP LMS, the
mobile EKP (mEKP) portable LMS, the EAP assessment engine, and the Enterprise
Content Platform (ECP) single-source content authoring and publishing tool.
"Work on the redesign of our logos has been going on for some time now. We
wanted to present fresh, new logos of our products that will reflect a 'suite'
packaging, which would clearly show that they belong to an integrated family
of products that support each other," says Robert Torio, NetDimensions
Marketing Manager.
The new EKP logo comes out with EKP 6.3, while the rest will be rolled out
by January 2011.

Reward Card Wallet by Sundrop Mobile Delivers Consumers Location-Based Deal Alerts From Local Businesses
ORLANDO, Fla., Dec. 3, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Sundrop Mobile is pleased to announce the launch of Reward Card Wallet which allows consumers to store all their plastic loyalty cards on their Apple iPhone or Android mobile device while delivering true, location-based marketing alerts - push not pull - for local businesses.
Consumers download Reward Card Wallet as part of their loyalty program registration process; their existing loyalty program membership automatically appears in the application. Any other loyalty card - grocery, convenience, motor club, etc. - can be easily added to the app with built-in barcode scanner technology. On their next store visit, consumers show their phone screen where the cashier scans the on-screen barcode representation of their plastic loyalty card. Consumers are no longer faced with the question of whether or not to add just one more loyalty card to their key chains or wallet - they can all be quickly stored right in their smart phone.
Reward Card Wallet is location-aware and allows the consumer to check for local deals near their location, which feature deals from Sundrop's loyalty merchants as well as Groupon(TM), Living Social(TM), and other services. Reward Card Wallet maintains location-awareness in the background using a battery-saving algorithm, and when a user travels within range of a Sundrop merchant-published deal, Reward Card Wallet alerts the consumer by push technology or SMS text message, causing the alert to attract the consumer's attention to the deal. Sundrop's loyalty merchants can also initiate outbound SMS broadcasts at any time based on their customers' current locations.
Sundrop Mobile President and CEO, Travis Priest says, "This type of proactive, location-based deal alert is often referred to as the 'holy grail' of mobile marketing, and Reward Card Wallet is the first application to deliver on that promise by providing consumers with intelligent, relevant, money-saving notifications. Reward Card Wallet considers consumers' communication preferences, current loyalty memberships, previous claim activity, time of day, and proximity to the offer before deciding to send an alerting notification. This discrimination makes Reward Card Wallet a valuable service to both the merchant and consumer alike."
Reward Card Wallet is available to consumers everywhere, and local businesses running Sundrop's loyalTXT card-less mobile loyalty solution can publish offers in their system dashboard that automatically appear to in-range consumers. The app is available today in the Android Market and will be available after approval in the Apple iTunes store.

Latin American Operators Look to Cash in on Mobile Remittances, Pyramid Finds
CAMBRIDGE, Mass., Dec. 3, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- As mobile penetration in Latin America nears 100 percent, mobile remittance solutions represent a large opportunity for mobile operators in Latin America to generate incremental revenuesand reduce churn, according to a new report from Pyramid Research (http://www.pyr.com).
Mobile Remittances: Network Operators Look to Cash In On a $60 Billion Market highlights why remittances represent a large opportunity for mobile operators, but require a significant paradigm shift in order to be fully realized. It also reviews the features that a mobile remittance service must include to be competitive, the current competition and why it will be a steep challenge to overcome, and the additional benefits of having such an offering in the marketplace.
Due to the significant immigration to the US and Europe over the last 20 years, Latin America depends on family remittances to sustain local consumption. This has created a virtual bridge of capital from the host countries to Latin America, and in some cases the flows exceed 10 percent of nominal GDP. The flow of remittances has dramatically changed the economic structure of certain countries that rely heavily on the capital sent by these workers," says Jose Magana, Senior Analyst at Pyramid.
Pan-regional operator Telefonica utilized remittances as a growth engine to help the company quickly recover from the global economic slowdown. "Mobile operators are well-positioned to benefit from any service that requires access to users, since almost 100 percent of the population is covered by mobile networks," notes Magana.
"With an average banking penetration of 50 percent, and the advantage of an already-developed infrastructure, it is obvious that mobile players have first mover advantage over any other industry to provide a variety of additional services, including mobile remittances," indicates Magana. In addition, slowness in response from operators risks them being left out of the value chain or playing a low-value role in the equation, similar to what appears to be happening in the content and mobile advertising businesses.

NetSuite and Alterview Partner to Bring Leading Cloud ERP Suite to Nordic Region
Leading Swedish Technology Implementation Company Drives Market Expansion Around NetSuite and NetSuite OneWorld
SAN MATEO, Calif. and STOCKHOLM, Dec. 3, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- NetSuite Inc. (NYSE: N), the industry's leading provider of cloud-based financials / ERP software suites, today announced the availability of Swedish language support in the user interface of its NetSuite and NetSuite OneWorld product offerings. In addition, NetSuite today announced that Alterview, a leading Swedish technology implementation company with decades of combined experience implementing enterprise applications in the Nordic region, has joined NetSuite's Solution Provider program. The partnership expands NetSuite's reach into Northern Europe, relying on the experienced team at Alterview to sell, implement and support NetSuite's cloud computing business management suites in Sweden and neighbouring countries.
Northern Europe is embracing cloud computing at a blistering pace. According to Gartner's "Forecast Analysis: Software as a Service, Worldwide, 2009-2014, Update," published on November 11, 2010, the region will adopt cloud computing solutions at a compounded annual growth rate of 15.8 percent--three times the rate of growth of the broader enterprise application market. This surging growth rate mirrors the explosive phenomenon cloud computing has become in North America. With the addition of Swedish to the 14 languages already available in NetSuite's products, along with flexible VAT and Financial Reporting configuration capabilities, NetSuite and Alterview are together poised to take advantage of the growing opportunity for cloud-based business management solutions in the region.
Alterview was founded in 1998 by five ex-Oracle employees and since then has built up an impressive portfolio of customers, including global media, technology, research, events and infrastructure companies. Alterview's experience, combined with the strong technical and functional capabilities of its consultants, makes it an ideal NetSuite partner for the Nordic region.
Through its partnership with NetSuite, Alterview gains an immediate presence in the cloud computing industry, which is rapidly expanding as more businesses become aware of the increased productivity and cost saving benefits that web-based software can offer in comparison to on-premise alternatives. Alterview also gains a superior line-up of cloud business management solutions, including NetSuite's core integrated suite that combines ERP / Financials, customer relationship management (CRM) and Ecommerce software, and NetSuite OneWorld, a cloud computing solution which enables multinational and multi-subsidiary companies to manage their global financial consolidation and business operations in real-time.
Since it began working with NetSuite, Alterview has collaborated on the delivery of the Swedish language user interface and has already sold and implemented complex, industry and company-specific solutions to 12 clients in Sweden. Those enjoying success with NetSuite include:
IDG (http://www.idg.se) is the world's leading technology media, research and event company. Its publications, products and services reach more than 140 million technology buyers in 90 countries, representing 95 percent of worldwide IT spending. 100 employees in IDG's Swedish operations now use NetSuite for CRM, replacing a proprietary system that lacked key integrations, required several spreadsheets and manual processes, and could not generate digital invoices. Alterview managed a smooth transition to NetSuite, giving IDG's financial and sales executives transparent insights into the entire scope of the media business spanning over two dozen brands in Sweden alone. "Now we have a platform that supports an unbroken chain of events from the prospectus to invoice," said Anders Huldt, CFO of IDG. "Anyone with the right access can obtain information about the customer and our ongoing business."
Mediekompaniet (http://www.mediekompaniet.com) is a media planning and advertising company that is jointly owned by 74 Swedish newspapers and publications. Mediekompaniet's deployment of NetSuite managed accounts receivable for its euro 80 million turnover business utilizing a highly-customized order entry and billing capability developed specifically for media advertising sales for more than 50 users throughout Sweden.
Handheld Group (http://www.handheldgroup.com) is a worldwide supplier of rugged PDAs and mobile computers, with customers in a variety of industries including logistics, forestry, public transportation, construction, military and security. The Handheld Group uses NetSuite OneWorld to manage all aspects of its multi-subsidiary business operations.
"Alterview's heritage and experience selling web-based software makes it the perfect choice for NetSuite's first channel partnership in Sweden," said Merrill Kindred, EMEA Channel Director, NetSuite. "We are excited about the opportunities in Sweden and Northern Europe and look forward to working together with Alterview to empower businesses in the region and further our leadership in the cloud ERP market."
Rikard Burman-Holmgren, Marketing Manager, Alterview, said: "We're delighted to begin this partnership with NetSuite. Businesses in Sweden and across Europe are realizing the huge advantages that can be gained by switching applications from on-premise to the cloud. With NetSuite, we can help them transfer their operations quickly and efficiently, enabling them to enjoy the benefits of increased productivity and lower cost."

In another attempt to show that the government is "for the people," congress has approved the CALM Act. Don't you love the naming of these bills? The act gives more control to the FCC over TV commercials. They say that some commercials are so loud that people are annoyed by them and complain. BOO HOO! Congress is late to the party, again. Most TVs have a true volume setting that normalizes the maximum volume allowed. This means that the problem has already been solved without regulation.
With the increased power to the FCC, expect things to go horribly wrong. I'm sure Congress was happy to get this passed in such quick timing since there are no other lingering issues plaguing America like a looming tax increase and endless unemployment.

Powerful New Headache Relief Medicine Takes the Headache Out of the Holidays
'Tis the season to be stressed, but thanks to a very effective new brand of headache medicine introduced by world renowned neurologist Dr. Alexander Mauskop, it need not be the time for tension headaches.
NEW YORK, Dec. 2, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- The public can now prepare to combat the holiday headaches with Dr. Mauskop's Migralex(TM). This new brand of headache relief medicine, introduced by Dr. Alexander Mauskop, a world-renowned neurologist, headache expert, and founder of the New York Headache Center, not only contains a proven, highly effective pain reliever but also corrects a mineral deficiency responsible for headaches.
"You can't imagine how happy people are to finally achieve relief. I'm thrilled that Dr. Mauskop's Migralex(TM) is going to bring pain-free holidays to a wider group," says Dr. Mauskop. "This is just the right product to have on hand for the holidays."
According to Dr. Mauskop, the 'holiday headache' is a very real occurrence -- not just a saying.
"There are all those presents to buy, budgets are tight, house guests upset routines, expected and unexpected that come to visit. Changes in regular sleep/wake cycle, as well as eating and drinking too much can also trigger headaches," says Dr. Mauskop.
Tips for coping with holiday stress headaches:
The best way to cope with holiday headaches is trying to prevent them. Of course with all the delicious temptations and holiday parties that may be easier said than done. But a good first step is recognizing what triggers headaches and trying to minimize or avoid that situation.
-- Maintain normal sleeping and waking patterns
-- When drinking alcohol, do so in moderation. Keep in mind that red wine,
beer, whiskey, and champagne are more common headache triggers than
vodka or white wine
-- Drinking plenty of water in between alcoholic drinks may help avoid
hangover headaches. Avoiding foods known to trigger headaches especially
chocolate, caffeine, cheese, smoked, cured, and pickled foods
-- Try to relax and enjoy this special time of year
Despite all efforts, you may still get a headache, so be prepared so a headache doesn't ruin your holiday plans.

Bernstein Launches Web 'Microsite' on Advice about Selling a Business
Four audiocasts shed light on evaluating deal structures, planning for retirement, maximizing legacy, and understanding tax implications
NEW YORK, Dec. 2, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Bernstein Global Wealth Management, a unit of AllianceBernstein L.P., announced today it has launched a website comprising a groundbreaking research report and four brief audiocasts dedicated to answering financial-planning questions around selling a privately held business. The "microsite" is designed to aid business sellers, prospective sellers, and the professional teams who work with business owners engaged in a sale.
The white paper research report is authored by Bernstein Wealth Management Group professionals Greg Singer and Brian Wodar. It presents best practices for planning all aspects of a sale from pre-transaction strategies through post-transaction implications. The four audiocasts focus on the highlights of Bernstein's research, specifically:
-- How business sellers can assess the pros and cons of multiple offers
-- How sellers can plan for a retirement that will meet all their goals
-- What sellers should do to boost their legacies to family and charity
-- How sellers might think about today's thorny tax questions
Both the paper and the audiocasts start with the premise that for owners, selling a business raises as many emotional issues as financial. "At every point along the sale continuum," says Singer, "the owner and his professional team are grappling with both monetary and personal issues. The key to satisfying both sides of that equation is planning."
Adds Wodar, "Forecasting wealth outcomes is critical. We use a unique quantitative tool to assist sellers in understanding the impact that a potential transaction can have on them and their families. It combines the pro-forma cash flows generated by an investment banker with the probabilistic behavior of the capital markets. It's a great tool in helping owners assess how well they'll meet their objectives with one selling strategy or another." This analysis can accommodate just about any seller and set of circumstances.
Sums up Singer, "A business seller should feel in control of the situation rather than at the whim of external forces. Our planning process allows him to make an informed decision to go ahead and execute a transaction that will meet his needs."

NASHVILLE, Tenn., Dec. 2, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- AT&T* today announced the completion of a key initiative in its ongoing efforts to expand the wireless capacity and performance of its 3G mobile broadband network throughout the Middle Tennessee area.
As part of its continuing network investment to support growing demand for advanced mobile devices and applications, AT&T announced the activation of 69 existing cell sites with 3G cell technology in Cheatham, Dickson, Lawrence, Maury, Rutherford, Williamson and Wilson counties. "This 3G service across Middle Tennessee will now keep our residents connected and assist with our economic development efforts," said Senator Bill Ketron. "When we invest in smart wireless networks, we bring the innovation that's needed to grow the economy and create jobs."
In just the first six months of this year, AT&T invested nearly $200 million in its wireless and wireline networks to continue improving service for customers in Tennessee. Upgrades to the AT&T wireless network included new cell sites, expanded mobile broadband coverage and increased 3G capacity. The investment also included upgrades to the AT&T wireline infrastructure, such as expanded AT&T U-verse® services, additional AT&T Wi-Fi Hot Spots, and extended reach of broadband services.
"Wireless broadband services are increasingly important for economic development, for quality of life and for security of our citizens," said Senator Jack Johnson. "Good public policy is critical for wireless broadband investment across Middle Tennessee."
Wireless data traffic on the AT&T network has grown more than 5,000 percent over the past three years, largely due to the increasing popularity of advanced smartphones and the performance of AT&T's 3G network. AT&T has the nation's fastest mobile broadband network.
"The expansion of mobile broadband service in these counties is part of AT&T's ongoing efforts to mobilize our way of life and deliver dependable, wireless coverage for consumers and business customers who need to stay connected," said Gregg Morton, president, AT&T Tennessee. AT&T is an industry leader in delivering the benefits of mobile broadband networks, devices and applications. With the nation's fastest 3G network, AT&Tprovides accelerated mobile data speeds and simultaneous voice and data capabilities for an amazing wireless voice and data experience.
The expansion of mobile broadband service is one of many ongoing network initiatives planned to enhance coverage and capacity across the country. AT&T recently upgraded 3G cell sites nationwide to High-Speed Packet Access (HSPA) 7.2. Future plans include another upgrade to HSPA+ technology at the end of this year followed by the initial deployment next year of LTE, the next-generation of wireless technology. These advancements, when combined with an ongoing initiative to increase the number of high-speed backhaul connections to cell sites, are a part of AT&T's strategy to provide customers with an enhanced mobile broadband experience, both today and in the future.
"We are fortunate to have a leader like Senator Ketron who works to create a pro-business environment for our area, one that attracts investment and encourages the ongoing improvement of our telecommunications networks," said Maury County Mayor Jim Bailey.
"Thanks to the leadership of Senator Jack Johnson, Middle Tennessee is a place where companies seek to locate and expand their operations," said Williamson County Mayor Rogers Anderson. "He is someone who understands the public policy environment that is necessary to make these investments, and I am thrilled to see the launch of 3G services here."
