first investment of $2 million in OnAir3G, a voice-enabled mobile social
networking platform. Moscow-based OnAir3G is a start-up founded by online and

Today's announcement marks Runa Capital's first investment since
launching in August 2010 with the goal of offering $30 million in seed
financing to start-ups in rapid growth tech sectors. These include cloud
computing, machine learning, virtualisation and mobile & internet
applications.

NUREMBERG, Germany, Nov. 23, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI) (NYSE: TXN) today announced its AM1810 Sitara(TM) ARM® microprocessor (MPU), a new single-chip ARM9(TM) solution with an integrated PROFIBUS® interface, the world's most popular fieldbus used for communications between factory automation equipment. This integrated, low-power device eliminates the need for an external PROFIBUS, ASIC or FPGA, which saves development time and cost while improving system performance. The AM1810 Sitara ARM MPU has ample performance to support implementation of industrial applications, whether or not the applications require a PROFIBUS. Examples of industrial applications well-suited for the AM1810 Sitara ARM MPU include a programmable logic controller (PLC) or human machine interface (HMI). TI also announced its membership into the PROFIBUS International (PI). By joining PI, TI affirmed its commitment to the industrial market by providing a certified, integrated solution to help make development easier and improve costs for industrial designers.
Compared to multi-chip solutions on the market today, the AM1810 Sitara ARM MPU connects the PROFIBUS interface directly to the RS-485 transceiver, eliminating the need for an ASIC or FPGA.
Customers can also design smaller enclosures and housings with easier thermal designs for their PROFIBUS-based products due to the AM1810 Sitara ARM MPU's low power architecture. The combination of removing the FPGA or the ASIC, reducing board space and introducing a simpler thermal design, results in bill of materials (BOM) savings of up to 30 percent.
The PROFIBUS real-time frame handler, called the Fieldbus Data Link (FDL), is implemented utilizing the Programmable Real-Time Unit (PRU), which is part of the AM1810 Sitara ARM MPU on-chip peripherals. The PRU is tightly coupled with the ARM processor through the on-chip system bus, yielding shorter control cycle time and increased system response time - running up to 12 MBaud PROFIBUS decentralized peripherals (DP) communication. Multiple memory options allow customers to run a PROFIBUS node without external memory, booting through serial flash and running PROFIBUS on internal RAM. The solution also has an operating system abstraction layer, which makes the PROFIBUS DP protocol stack independent of the operating system, allowing complete design flexibility.
Pre-certified silicon and stack software with PROFIBUS Certification
The TI PROFIBUS DP slave implementation earned the PI certification through ComDeC, a PROFIBUS Certification Lab hosted by Siemens AG. This particular certification was earned on the PROFIBUS interface on TI's AM1810 Sitara ARM MPU, which allows industrial designers and developers to design with confidence that they are meeting industrial standards.

The Cellit Widgit Plugin for Windows-based POS Expands its Loyalty Features
CHICAGO, Nov. 23, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Cellit, a leading provider of mobile marketing solutions, announced today the release of the newest version of Cellit's Windows-based POS system, the Widgit® v2.0. This updated version of the Widgit features a more robust loyalty points tracking system, enabling multiple point levels for purchases. Developed in conjunction with motion-control specialist Robox, the module combines ST's reliable high-performance semiconductor technologies, including 1200V/40A IGBT power switches and the TD352 - gate driver. Two STM32 microcontrollers provide a powerful processing engine for motor control and networking functions. A real-time communication interface supporting protocols such as EtherCAT® and CANopen® DS402 is provided. Basic firmware supporting network connectivity and featuring PWM driving, current loop and speed-loop execution synchronized to the fieldbus is also available.
The module supports full customization of firmware and logic, allowing designers to full control over the motor-control algorithm and type of Ethernet fieldbus. GNS Healthcare Signs Childhood Asthma Genetics Collaboration with Nationally-Ranked Hospital

CAMBRIDGE, Mass., Nov. 23, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- GNS Healthcare, Inc. (GNS) today announced a two-year collaboration with Brigham and Women's Hospital (BWH), a teaching affiliate of Harvard Medical School. The goal of the collaboration is to identify biomarkers to predict patient response to asthma therapies and to discover new biology that may lead to better treatments for asthma. The collaboration will combine the disease expertise of the BWH researchers, the computational expertise of BWH and GNS, and GNS's supercomputer-driven Reverse Engineering Forward Simulation (REFS(TM)) scientific computing platform. The data for patients include genetics, gene expression, several clinical and environmental measures, and clinical outcomes such as hospitalizations, requirements for fast-acting asthma drugs, and reduced lung growth. The BWH and GNS team will utilize the REFS platform to build computer models directly from the data that connect genetics to biology to clinical outcomes. These computer models will be simulated to discover the key genetic and molecular drivers of both childhood asthma disease progression and response to inhaled corticosteroids. BWH and GNS plan to publish their findings from the collaboration and engage drug makers in utilizing the discoveries and computer models to make new therapies available to patients.
