Atmel Launches Next Generation maXStylus mXTS220 Active Pen Platform Delivering Extremely Precise Handwriting with an Architecture Built for the Future of Stylus
maXStylus mXTS220 Delivers Significantly Improved Active Pen Performance with Longer Battery Life, Higher Noise Immunity and Optimized Design for Lower System Cost for Mobile Devices
SAN JOSE, Calif., Jan. 7, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Atmel(® )Corporation (NASDAQ: ATML), a global leader in microcontroller and touch technology solutions, today announced the company is sampling its next generation maXStylus mXTS220 to multiple global customers. OEMs have been looking to expand the user adoption of active stylus solutions on mobile devices by providing precise handwriting, lower system and stylus cost, and easy-to-use styli that do not require frequent battery changes.
The next-generation maXStylus mXTS220 capacitive active stylus controller elevates the user experience with superior responsiveness after every stroke which is a key requirement for a 'pen-to-paper' writing experience. Higher precision writing and pressure sensing, with palms resting on the touchscreen, enable an artistic writing experience with fluid strokes. The maXStylus mXTS220 solution utilizes the capacitive touchscreen controller and does not require an additional sensor layer, such as EMR (electro-magnetic resonance) technology, for optimized solution cost.
Atmel's maXStylus mXTS220 bidirectional architecture is the best positioned in the industry to allow OEMs to build next-generation styli with flexibility to interoperate with multiple digitizers. The unique two-way architecture enables the stylus to detect various noise sources so they can be avoided - a differentiation of maXStylus that no other solution on the market offers today. Enhanced noise immunity over existing capacitive solutions allows flawless pen strokes without any line breaks or missing strokes while further extending battery life.
"The ability to create content on your mobile devices, including smartphones, tablets, notebooks and Ultrabooks, is quickly becoming a key differentiating factor in OEM designs," said Shar Narasimhan, Sr. Product Manager of Touch Marketing, Atmel Corporation. "As a leader in the touch market, we are excited to bring one of the most precise active stylus solutions to the market, enabling a pen-to-paper experience on a touchscreen while meeting future OEM requirements with the flexibility of an interoperable platform."
Atmel Corporation (NASDAQ: ATML) is a worldwide leader in the design and manufacture of microcontrollers, capacitive touch solutions, advanced logic, mixed-signal, nonvolatile memory and radio frequency (RF) components. Leveraging one of the industry's broadest intellectual property (IP) technology portfolios, Atmel is able to provide the electronics industry with intelligent and connected solutions focused on the industrial, consumer, communications, computing and automotive markets.

Hisense Becomes the Trend Setter for the First Time at CES, Setting A New Direction for the Entire Industry
QINGDAO, China, Jan. 7, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The world's largest annual consumer electronics show, The International CES, kicked off on January 6th this year. Mainstream consumer electronics businesses from around the worldcompete to show their newest and their best at the event.
On January 5th afternoon, Las Vegas local time, a press conference titled "TV has enteredinto the No-screen Era" was held by China Hisense atthe event's main venue. Hisense was the first to enter the laser theater TV market with the new "no-screen"concept. The new product that was already selling in the mainland Chinese market has seen a 10,000-unit sales within justthe first two months. Hisense's confidencehas come into rise as it departs from the reliance on a standard television set's key components. The "screen" that was pre-dominantly produced by brands like Samsung and LG used to be a vital part of similar sets. Now, that rule-the-day advantage will soon fade as screens are going to be discarded once and for all in the no-screen laser TV era.
Hisense Group's chief scientist Huang Weiping predicted: "No-screen TV" will become the future trend of the industry. A wall, or even a piece of cloth, might serve as the "screen". Hisense's laser theater TV is just a small beginning and already a successful attempt. Large-scale popularization and promotion is just around the corner. Despite the fact that the costs remain high at present, the price of a 100-inch product amounts to only one-tenth of that of an LCD TV of the same size.
Fixnetix Launches iX-eCute® and iX-Max for Chi-X® Australia
LONDON, January 7, 2015 /PRNewswire/ --
Fixnetix, the global provider of front office managed trading solutions in Capital
Markets, announced today the launch of iX-eCute(R), its Field-Programmable Gate Array
(FPGA) risk management hardware solution and iX-Max, its high performance proprietary
market data feed-handler, for Chi-X(R) Australia. iX-eCute(R) and iX-Max have received
qualification from Chi-X(R) Australia for their trading system as a market solution.
The iX-eCute(R) solution provides a platform offering full marketplace conformance,
comprehensive risk checks and extensive throttling capabilities for Australian equities.
This launch builds on already incorporated functionality, designed to meet the
requirements of increasing global risk management regulation. The Australian solution
provides for an industry leading performance of sub 3.5micros round-trip-time for an
independently terminated client and venue design; such a method is often preferred over
simpler 'packet sniffing' technologies by regulators. The solution also required the
development and deployment of a new market data feed-handler, known as iX-Max, given the
unique vagaries of the marketplace.
"Due to similarities with other markets already live in Australia, Fixnetix has been
able to leverage existing code-base to incorporate the specific requirements of the
Chi-X(R) Australia trading system easily," said Dr Marcus Perrett, Director of Development
at Fixnetix. "With Chi-X(R) Australia live, we now have both major Australian equity
markets supported with
iX-eCute(R) and iX-Max."
Fixnetix has patented sophisticated technology that provides isolated client and venue
sessions via dual TCP/IP offload engines ('TOE') and has recently celebrated its second
year of client deployment in North America and Asia of the iX-eCute(R) solution in this
configuration.
About Fixnetix
Fixnetix is an award winning company providing outsourced managed services across
multiple asset classes to leading global banks, hedge funds and proprietary trading groups
seeking trading, market data, hosting, infrastructure, connectivity and risk management

world offering access to over 90 markets. Fixnetix is one of the first firms to
commercialize FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) technology for execution purposes with
the iX-eCute(R) trading appliance. Fixnetix was granted a patent for the iX-eCute(R)
solution in April this year by the United States Patent and Trademark Office. For more

The scale of the Chinese rice cooker market is vast, with some 37 million units in service. The number of purchasers who desire high-quality, well-designed Japanese rice cookers is growing annually. In response to the needs of people inChina looking for a more refined lifestyle and who have increasingly refined tastes regarding the rice they eat, Tiger Corporation is releasing the JPX-A rice cooker. The JPX-A offers high added value made possible by Japanese quality and the technology and knowhow which Tiger Corporation has cultivated over the past 90 years since its founding with the goal of providing its customers with the deliciousness, joy, and fun rice has to offer. In addition, Tiger Corporation has added menu options to the JPX-A not available inJapan in order to meet the needs of Chinese lifestyles.
Product Features
- Painstakingly Triple Fired Authentic Premium Clay Inner Pot
The authentic premium clay inner pot produces delicious rice every time, and is made with carefully selected clay and triple fire. The first firing is conducted between 1,200 and 1,300 C. Next, a glaze is applied and a second firing is conducted at 1,000 C. Lastly, the IH heating element is added and the third and final firing is conducted. Only after this triple firing process will the authentic premium clay inner pot be complete. In order to maintain uniform precision, we monitor daily atmospheric temperature and humidity fluctuations and adjust the temperature of our furnaces. The techniques of master ceramic craftsmen are used to assess these minute temperature adjustments.
In addition, the rim of the authentic premium clay inner pot uses a slightly narrowed "bottling" design. This produces heat convection which in turn creates a "heat cover" effect between the lid of the main body of the cooker and the inner pot, ensuring heat is applied efficiently and evenly to rice.
-"Authentic Clay Pot + Large Clay Oven" Dual Heating Design
The dual heating design features a large clay oven and an authentic clay inner pot which generates powerful lateral IH heating and prevents heat from escaping, ensuring a vast amount of heat is applied to rice evenly from every direction.
-Authentic premium clay pot:
Uses "bottling" design to generate heat convection
-Large clay oven:
Applies heat evenly and efficiently to the entire pot; Tiger's unique clay oven, which surrounds the authentic premium clay inner pot, is now even larger.
This large clay oven generates IH heat and transmits it directly to the authentic clay inner pot.
The JPX-A starts by cooking rice at pressure of 1.25 atm, giving the rice the perfect degree of suppleness and stickiness. In the latter phase of cooking, pressure is dropped to 1.05 atm and the rice is finished at 280 C, producing rice that is plump, springy and delicious to the last grain.
- Motion Sensor and Touch Panel Make Operation a Breeze
The JPX-A is equipped with a motion sensor and a touch panel that lights up and displays information when a user approaches. This enables simple and easy operation - a light touch on the responsive panel is all that is needed. The JPX-A's audio guide also confirms the user input.
-"My Tuning" Feature Adjusts Rice Cooking
The JPX-A comes equipped with the "My Tuning" feature, allowing users to select their preferred stickiness level according to a rice variety or other factors. Simply press the "Rice Texture" button to select a texture anywhere from "Hard" to "Soft" and the JPX-A does the rest.
-New Menu Options Meet Chinese Users' Needs
--Set cooking time with "Porridge" menu
Rice porridge is a staple dish in China. Users can set the cooking time to reach their preferred tenderness.
--"Sushi" menu produces the perfect rice for making sushi
Japanese food has been hugely popular in China for many years. Sushi is particularly popular and the JPX-A makes it easy to create the hard rice which goes best with sushi, at home.
--"Slow Cook" menu makes it easy to cook with the JPX-A
The JPX-A is equipped with a "Slow Cook" menu which makes it simple to cook a variety of authentic meals, even difficult-to-cook dishes such as "samgyetang" soup.

Across All Industries, Packaging and Labeling Drives Consumer Interest
According to fabric label manufacturer Hi-Tech Printing & Labeling Inc., the labels on clothing drive sales similar to food packaging in a grocery store.
LOS ANGELES, Jan. 6, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- According to "The Evolution of Brand Preferences", a study published in the American Economic Review, a majority of grocery store customers who buy a more expensive brand name item can't tell the difference between that item and the store brand equivalent in a blind test. This study confirmed what marketing executives and product design teams have long known - packaging and branding can have a huge influence on a consumer's decision to buy a product. It also reveals that companies have the luxury of charging more for their product if the package or label can convince costumers of that product's uniqueness. Hi-Tech Printing & Labeling Inc., a company that's specialized in label printing in Los Angeles for nearly 25 years, points out that, just like food packaging, clothing and fabric labels can have an immense influence on whether a customer picks an item off the shelf.
Unlike food products, most clothing is not sold in packaging. Rather, brands must distinguish their items through a combination of printed clothing labels and paper hang tags. When people are walking the aisles of an outlet mall or department store, an attractive, eye-catching hang tag can make a customer stop and pick that item off the shelf for further inspection. Usually, when customers like the overall look of an item of clothing after initially inspecting it, they'll then look at the tag on the inside collar to see if it is the right size. This presents the clothing designer another opportunity to impress the customer with an eye-catching, unique collar tag to signify individuality and quality.
In addition to labels for clothing, High-Tech Printing and Labeling also tackles a wide variety of fabric labels including labels for unique lines of cloth and canvas items. They also provide hang tags for hats, blankets, and a variety of other products not traditionally sold in packages. These hang-tags are often the only thing that companies rely on to make their product stand out to consumers when placed in a sea of items on a shelf.
Hi-Tech Printing and Labeling has been printing these high quality labels to give companies an individual flair for years. They specialize in a variety of different styles and techniques including woven, printed, and heat-transfer labels to cater to every possible fabric label need. By giving their customers the ability to design a label in up to 8 different colors, Hi-Tech Printing and Labeling can make a nearly unlimited combination of colors, designs, and styles. If your company is looking for something to make your non-packaged product stand out in the eyes of customers, don't hesitate to send your label design to Hi-Tech Printing and Labeling Inc. today. -- Dynamic electronic Horizon - a cloud based sensor
-- LTE telematics from Continental powers Subaru's Starlink
-- Smartwatch - Intelligent Key: New Access Technologies
-- Curved and brilliant: OLED Touch display
-- Augmented Reality: More efficient diagnosis and repair
-- Environment sensors: Intelligence for safe and comfortable driving
LAS VEGAS, Jan. 6, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- At the Consumer Electronics Show 2015 in Las Vegas (January 6th to 9th), Continental is highlighting how automotive electronics benefit from connecting the vehicle to the cloud under the company's exhibition theme, "the power of intelligent mobility." The international automotive supplier is demonstrating this to its customers using four innovation paths: Control, Entertainment, Information and Safety.
"At the 2015 CES, we are demonstrating how the online world is rapidly evolving to make our vehicles more attractive, safer and more efficient. This is why we are showcasing ready-to-market solutions for the intelligent vehicle to our customers," said Helmut Matschi, member of the Continental Executive Board and head of the Interior division.
The Dynamic Electronic Horizon
At the core of Continental's innovations for CES this year is the dynamic electronic Horizon (eHorizon). Together, with its collaboration partner IBM and the location cloud company HERE, Continental turns the digital map into a high-precision and constantly up-to-date sensor that can be used for much more than just navigation.
"With the dynamic eHorizon we have the ability to incorporate dynamic events like weather, traffic or construction sites on the route into the digital map and make this information available for vehicle electronics," said Matschi. The information is gathered from a multitude of sources based on the principle of crowd-sourcing. "In fact the dynamic eHorizon turns cars into moving sensors, which constantly exchange data on the road with the cloud.
With the dynamic eHorizon being the focal point of Continental's CES exhibit, the automotive supplier is also showcasing how other systems benefit from the cloud. This starts with connected energy management for Continental's mild hybrid system 48 Volt Eco Drive, which allows for the most efficient operating strategies during the drive. At the heart of this, the connected central powertrain controller from Continental uses the information from the cloud to improve functions like sailing, coasting or energy regeneration. The use cases for Continental's eHorizon extend even further and include highly automated driving, where eHorizon technology is needed to allow the vehicle to 'look around the corner.'
Telematics: Continental powers Subaru's STARLINK
At the beginning of any connected service, stands a reliable connection to the mobile data network. With nearly two decades of experience, Continental has proven its expertise in connecting the car to the online world. Starting from later this year for U.S. market vehicles, Continental's latest LTE capable Telematics Module will enable a wide variety of connectivity services for Subaru's in-vehicle technology, STARLINK. The range of services available to Subaru owners will include Stolen Vehicle Recovery, Automatic Collision Notification, remote vehicle services like lock/unlock via smartphone device, and Monthly Vehicle Health Report keeping customers in touch with key vehicle functions. For Continental, the dynamics in the connectivity market demonstrate how essential these features are becoming for drivers all around the world, and that Continental's technology is well-suited to serve this need.
Smart Watch - Intelligent Key: New Access Technologies from Continental
For Continental, getting connected starts outside the vehicle.
"We enable drivers to use the consumer electronics devices they are familiar with to control integral functions of the vehicle. For example, at CES, Continental is demonstrating how it transforms a smart watch on the driver's wrist into a remote car key," said Matschi.
The smart watch as a car key is using Bluetooth to connect to Continental's latest bidirectional remote key - also known as the gateway key. The gateway key works as an interface between the vehicle and the smart watch to transfer data (vehicle and diagnostics data, and user profile) to the vehicle. The smart watch is used as an operating device. Through an App, the driver can open or close the vehicle or exchange other information simply by using the display of the smart watch.
Curved and brilliant: OLED Touch display
Just as touch screens have become increasingly important in mobile phones with the switch from cell phones to smartphones, vehicles need the flexibility of touch screens with more functionalities and connected services entering the vehicle. With its curved OLED Touch Display, Continental is now offering a strong contrast, capable of displaying bold colors with no background lighting and a magnitude of interaction possibilities with touch functionality.
The most striking detail is that Continental's new display is curved, which allows car manufacturers the design freedom to seamlessly integrate the display, in the center console, for example. Using special electronics and chemically hardened glass, Continental has also ensured that the display meets automotive requirements and lasts for many years.
Augmented Reality: More efficient diagnosis and repair
Connected Services extend into the aftermarket and can help to facilitate diagnosis and the repair of vehicles. For that reason, Continental has its 'Connected Technician' solution that places the technician at the center of the process using Augmented Reality technology. The tablet application connects to the car via a wireless communication interface and guides the technician step-by-step through the entire diagnosis and repair process. It puts all of the information necessary for each step, i.e. work instructions, faulty parts or the exact tool needed for a certain job, in front of the technician allowing them to focus on the vehicle. Integration with dealer management systems ensures that the technician is working on the right job and a full feature diagnostics runtime automatically recognizes the vehicle type, detects faults and provides the complete technical information available for the car. Overall, the intuitive operation leads to a much simpler, faster and more accurate diagnosis and repair and also optimizes service planning. At CES, Continental also shows how Augmented Reality applications with voice input and feedback enable the technician to remain hands-free, working even more efficiently.
Environment sensors: Intelligence for safe and comfortable driving
Environment sensors, like cameras, radar and lidar provide the vehicle with the intelligence that allows the driver stress-free driving. They make a great contribution, by sensing the environment around the vehicle and increasing driving safety, to reach Continental's goal of accident-free driving. When it comes to safety, monitoring not only the area in front of, or behind a vehicle, but also all around it, will be the next step towards accident-free driving.
With Surround View, Continental provides a complete 360-degree view around the entire vehicle. The combination of a rear-view camera with an active Advanced Driver Assistance Systems braking solution will help to minimize the numerous fatalities and injuries caused by back over crashes. In 2014, NHTSA issued a mandate that will require all light vehicles to have rear-view visibility technology (backup cameras) by 2018. Additionally, these sensors enable and provide a fallback option for automated driving. These sensors, and the fusion of sensor data, will evolve to realize the next steps of partially, highly and ultimately fully automated driving.
Continental develops intelligent technologies for transporting people and their goods. As a reliable partner, the international automotive supplier, tire manufacturer, and industrial partner provides sustainable, safe, comfortable, individual, and affordable solutions. In 2013, the corporation generated sales of approximately EUR33.3 billion with its five divisions, Chassis & Safety, Interior, Powertrain, Tires, and ContiTech. Continental currently employs around 189,000 people in 49 countries.

At CES 2015 Audio-Technica is expanding its gaming headsets lineup with the debut of its ATH-PG1 closed-back and ATH-PDG1open-air headphones (SRP: US$199.95 each; available January 2015). Both models offer a host of gaming-centric features including a flexible gooseneck microphone with detachable cable, smartphone cable, 5.6-foot extension cable and a lightweight comfort-fit design. The headsets' large-diameter drivers deliver an immersive sonic experience with exceptional clarity and dynamics, and a realistic soundstage that draws listeners completely into the gaming environment.
Audio-Technica brings more style and fun to vinyl listening with the CES 2015 premiere of its popular AT-LP60Turntable System in striking blue AT-LP60BL and red AT-LP60RD finishes. Available at US$129.95 suggested retail exclusively from Amazon.com in February 2015, the AT-LP60 is a fully automatic - and fully equipped - belt-drive turntable with built-in, switchable phono preamp, enabling it to be connected directly to a computer, stereo or other audio component, even those without a dedicated turntable input.
In Brief: The Move to Hi-Res Audio
While many listeners may believe that high-resolution audio came along with the introduction of the Compact Disc in 1982, constraints on the disc's storage space always prevented CD audio (standardized at 44.1 kHz/16-bit) from fully and completely reproducing the original recorded sound. The advent and subsequent popularity of MP3s only made this problem more pronounced - the necessary compression of these files causes audio information to be lost, thus greatly reducing the audio quality. But with lossless audio file formats, faster Internet speeds, and storage space increasingly easy to come by (and in ever-smaller packages), the push is on to create audio equipment capable of capturing and reproducing true Hi-Res Audio, generally considered to be 96kHz/24-bit or better. The Hi-Res Audio logo certifies that a product meets the Hi-Res Audio standards. Per these standards, headphones must have transducer frequency performance of at least 40 kHz. As a producer of these types of audiophile headphones since 1972, Audio-Technica is well-positioned to provide audio solutions that meet the demands of Hi-Res Audio media formats, allowing for the full reproduction of their extended sonic characteristics.

"The number one thing kids love to do on their tablets is play games," said Eric Levin, spokesperson, Techno Source. "With Kurio Motion 2.0, we're taking a traditionally solitary, sedentary device and turning into a gaming portal that will get everyone up and active."
Kurio Motion 2.0 games allow children to compete against their friends and family, race against a virtual player or even play cooperatively. Each Kurio Motion 2.0 game has three unique levels to master that get kids jumping, running and moving their bodies as they dance, raft down rivers, race to make it to the end of a dirt trail on a mountain bike and more. An initial eight Kurio Motion 2.0 games will be available for download on Kurio devices this fall, and additional apps are in development.
Kurio Motion technology detects players' movements through the tablet's front-facing camera, allowing games to be played anytime, anywhere. No console, sensor, gaming controller or TV is required. Kurio Motion 2.0 games feature advanced movement recognition technology with even more sensitive motion detection functionality.
Kurio Xtreme, the 7-inch Wi-Fi enabled Android 4.4. Kurio tablet currently available, is preloaded with more than 10 single-player Kurio Motion sports, racing and learning games. The Xtreme is fully loaded with more than $300 worth of free premium content for out-of-the-box play. Thousands of more kid-safe apps can be accessed through the curated Kurio Store or parents can choose age-appropriate content from the millions of apps available through Google Play(TM).

Wacom's new "Active ES" pen technology powers Toshiba's Encore 2 Write tablets with pen-point accuracy, speed and enhanced creativity
TOKYO and LAS VEGAS, Jan. 6, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Wacom Co., Ltd, announced that Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc. and Toshiba Europe GmbH have adopted "Active ES" pen technology, Wacom's unique capacitive pen solution, for their new Windows 8.1 tablets, the Encore 2 Write (exhibited at CES in the Central Hall at the Las Vegas Convention Center, Booth #11028).
Wacom leads the industry with its EMR(®) (Electro-Magnetic Resonance) digital pen sensor solution, and reached 100 million units of component production (cumulative) in April 2014. Wacom has now extended its technology portfolio by adding the "Active ES" pen solution to address broadening needs for pens in mobile products.
The Active ES pen solution handles high performance pen and multi-finger touch inputs simultaneously with a single sensor and a single ASIC controller. It realizes a natural and intuitive writing experience with high speed, precision and pressure sensitivity. By supplying both Active ES and EMR pen solutions, Wacom continues to accelerate digital pen use on mobile devices such as tablets and smartphones, and lead the way toward the era of digital stationery.
"Toshiba's Encore 2 Write tablets and TruPen stylus proves that Wacom's Active ES solution delivers a best-in-class writing and drawing experience, with accuracy and speed never seen before on tablets," said Masahiko Yamada, president and CEO of Wacom. "Our Active ES pen supports writing, drawing and editing in intricate details with pressure sensitivity, as well as flexibility in design and configuration for OEM partners."
Toshiba's new tablets running Windows 8.1 Update with Bing are ideal travel companions, delivering a powerful Intel(®) Atom(TM) performance to help users get the most out of their day. The "TruPen" stylus brings high precision control to your work -- taking notes in meetings or lectures without sacrificing the writing feel of pen on paper, regardless of speed.
The TruPen is also ergonomically designed, making it comfortable to hold over long periods of time. Thanks to its pressure-sensitive tip, users are always in complete control of every line they write or draw. Furthermore, each model's elegant design features a special slot for attaching the pen to the tablet, so it's always handy for jotting down ideas or developing to-do lists.
By promoting the adoption of feel(TM) technologies in a variety of mobile devices, Wacom partners with industry leaders in making the world a more creative place.

Casio Transforms the Dance Music Scene with Trackformer Series of New DJ Products
Casio's New DJ Controller and Groove Center Offer Users the Chance to Mix, Scratch and Produce Their Own Tracks
LAS VEGAS, Jan. 6, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, Casio America, Inc. is pleased to announce its Trackformer series of new DJ products, which enables individuals to emulate their favorite DJs and producers, during the 2015 International CES in Las Vegas, NV, from January 6-9, 2015. With the XW-DJ1 DJ Controller and XW-PD1 Groove Center, dance music fans can create, mix and play or produce their favorite tracks on their own. Casio will be located in the Central Hall, booth #11006.
"Electronic Dance Music is here to stay and with its ever increasing popularity, we wanted to offer fans a way to become part of this epic music movement," said Stephen Schmidt, vice president of Casio's Electronic Musical Instrument division. "Casio's new Trackformer series offers a variety of easy-to-use features that are ideal for aspiring DJs and musicians who are ready to set the stage at a party, produce beats and perform."
XW-DJ1 DJ Controller
Designed with a large 7-inch platter that provides the feel of an analog turntable, filter controls and cross fader, Casio's XW-DJ1 DJ Controller allows users to enjoy the popular 'scratching' DJ style when mixing and creating tracks. The XW-DJ1 is compatible with Algoriddim's djay2 apps for iTunes, which were chosen as an Apple Design Award winner. The XW-DJ1 integration with djay2 provides direct controls for cue points, tempo sync, effects, looping and more providing users a tactile experience for mixing and performing music. Users can also connect to Spotify, a leading commercial music streaming service, and mix along to their favorite songs. Additionally, the compact XW-DJ1 is extremely portable because it is battery-powered and offers a built-in-speaker for enjoyment anywhere, anytime.
XW-PD1 Groove Center
The XW-PD1 Groove Center is equipped with the sound engine from Casio's widely-popular XW series of synthesizers, which features preset patterns produced by professional beat makers that cover dance music genres like Trap and EDM. The XW-PD1 design includes 16 velocity-sensitive pads and 4 knobs for fast real-time music production.
The XW-PD1 features an outer ring containing 16 buttons, allowing the user to check the current rhythm pattern at a glance. Users can create powerful rhythms and phrases with the pads as well as apply DSP effects such as roll, filter, bit crusher, break, and pitch shifter. The XW-PD1 includes drum sounds for a variety of styles such as Hip Hop, Trap, and House. Since the XW-PD1 is equipped with a synthesizer engine and a variety of effects, it can manipulate various sounds. Pad tap sequences can also be recorded in real time. Moreover, sampled sounds from the mic or music player can easily be played on the pads.
The audio output of the XW-DJ1 can be connected to the audio input of the XW-PD1 so the two units can be used in tandem. This allows users to do live remix performances utilizing the unique capabilities of each product.
The XW-DJ1 DJ Controller will be available at select retailers nationwide beginning January 2015 for an MSRP of $299.00; and the XW-PD1 Groove Center will be available beginning March 2015 for an MSRP of $399.00.
