FlatFrog Announces @ InfoComm14: Palm Rejection Support and New Patent Award
LUND, Sweden, June 18, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --
FlatFrog Laboratories AB, a leading provider of multi-touch systems, announced today
availability of industry leading palm rejection support for large touch solutions and
continued growth of its patent portfolio.
Palm rejection integrated with FlatFrog Touch
A well-known problem when using touch screens is registration of unintended touches
from users' palms when placed on larger touch surfaces like touch tables and tablets. This
causes false touches leading to poor user experience when typing, navigating or drawing on
the screen. In order to solve this problem, OEMs have to use very expensive active
digitizer and active stylus technology. FlatFrog can now deliver the same performance to
these OEMs without the need for additional active digitizer layers. This means that users
can have excellent touch performance using either their fingers or passive stylus while
resting their palms on the touch screen.
By offering palm rejection over its complete product range (currently 15" - 65"),
FlatFrog Touch continues to provide differentiated features for key customers.
FlatFrog awarded key patent
The United States Patent and Trademark Office recently issued U.S. Patent No. US
8,686,974, "Touch-sensitive system and method for controlling the operation thereof," for
FlatFrog's optical In-Glass(TM) touch technology. This patent grant continues to develop
the patent protection in and around the underlying core technology.
As the primary innovator of the architecture of optical In-Glass(TM) touch, FlatFrog
has built up the industry's strongest IP position for high-performance, low-cost,
multi-touch panels with superior optical clarity. The company currently has a portfolio of
13 granted US patents and almost 40 granted patents worldwide, with more than 80 patent
application families still pending, all related to designing, building and deploying
optical In-Glass(TM) touch systems in touch screens of all sizes.
"FlatFrog's In-Glass(TM) touch technology continues to extend FlatFrog's leadership in
multi-touch with its latest palm rejection offering and we continue to aggressively
protect our technology and innovations with the necessary IP filings," said Dhwani Vyas,
CEO of FlatFrog. "Receiving this new patent further strengthens our IP portfolio that
provides a significant competitive advantage for us, our customers and our partners."

technology. FlatFrog's products offer a perfect touch and viewing experience. FlatFrog

New stylus from Adonit brings Pixelpoint(TM) technology to digital artists.
The Jot Touch with Pixelpoint(TM) combines a discless fine point tip with features like pressure sensitivity and shortcut buttons.
AUSTIN, Texas, June 18, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Adonit today launched the Jot Touch with Pixelpoint(TM), their latest pressure sensitive stylus for digital artists. The new stylus features an updated design including a fine point tip made possible by Adonit's patented Pixelpoint(TM) technology, as well as shortcut buttons and pressure sensitivity. And thanks to Adonit's recent collaboration with Adobe, it's also the first third-party stylus that's Creative Cloud connected.
Digital artists familiar with Adonit's Jot styluses will recognize plenty of features in the Jot Touch's latest iteration, but third-party integration with Adobe Creative Cloud is a first in the stylus industry. Users will be able to access their files saved in Creative Cloud, copy and paste between devices and take advantage of Adobe's color inspiration service, Kuler.
But it's the fine point tip that truly sets this stylus apart from others. Using Pixelpoint(TM) technology, Adonit was able to create an incredibly precise, uncommonly small fine point tip. When paired with a Jot-Ready App on any Bluetooth 4 iOS device, the Jot Touch with Pixelpoint(TM) offers pressure sensitivity and shortcut buttons that put key features within easy reach. "The Jot Touch with Pixelpoint(TM) is the next evolution of the earlier Jot Touch," says Kris Perpich, Adonit's Chief Experience Officer, "By bringing Creative Cloud and Pixelpoint(TM) together, we're making giant leaps toward unifying mobile, desktop and cloud-based workspaces into a new digital studio."
The Jot Touch with Pixelpoint(TM) is available for $119.99 at Adonit.net.
About Adonit
Adonit was formed when five guys across two countries launched the company with Writer, one of the first iPad keyboard cases on the market; their line of Jot styluses followed one year later, when a Kickstarter campaign launched the company into growth mode. Today, they have customers in 100 countries worldwide, and have sold over 2 million Jot styluses.
As Adonit grows, so do their goals and services. The company has recently partnered with Adobe and Evernote to bring styluses and software to digital artists and notetakers. What started with a stylus has turned into something new: a group of likeminded makers leading the charge to build a new digital studio.

To Spread Tianhe-2 Worldwide, I2I Program Grandly Announced
Inspur determined to win IBM x86 HPC market
At the coming ISC14, Inspur will officially announce the global I2I (IBM to Inspur) program for the HPC business, which aims at the x86 market vacated by IBM
BEIJING, June 18, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Inspur HPC I2I program is a comprehensive market exploration project with the direct goal to take over the IBM x86 server market share. In this project, Inspur will take the emerging markets as the entry points and motivate global HPC users and partners to cooperate with Inspur. The project is believed to be a success, according to Inspur's abilities in R&D of the fastest supercomputers, Tianhe2 and Tianhe-1A, and on the high-quality support for HPC applications and services. More importantly, the complete HPC products and solutions family and the quick expanding global operating chain of Inspur will undoubtedly inspire confidence in the project.
As analyzed by HPC experts, it is very probable that Tianhe2 will be crowned as the first out of 500 again. Inspur also learned that many international users have expressed their intense interests in purchasing the Tianhe2 series products and lots of procurements are ongoing. Tianhe2 promisingly represents the output of Chinese hi-tech products.
The latest data from Gartner, the IT market research company, showed that in the first quarter of 2014, Inspur server shipments reached 80,929 units, ranking No.1 in China and No.5 worldwide with an increase of 288 percent, becoming the world's fastest growing server vendor. Many of those shipments came from the customized server solutions for IPDC, Cloud, and HPC.
Wondering or Moving? The True Hesitation of Global HPC Users
HPC supercomputers play an indispensible role in oil, energy, weather climate, new materials, designing & manufacturing, pharmaceutics, aerospace, and more. It is the fundamental IT equipment for national science research and engineering innovation. In recent years, HPC has become one of the two fastest growing areas of the global server market (the other is the Internet Data Center). IDC predicts that by 2016, the global HPC market will reach $ 13.7 billion.
x86 cluster has become the mainstream in HPC architecture, with more than 90 percent of HPC users using x86 architecture. In the Top 500, IBM is the leading vender by a 32 percent performance share. Unfortunately, earlier this year, IBM announced the sale of its x86 server business. This indicates that IBM, the largest global HPC vendor, will formally withdraw from the x86 HPC market.
Mr. Liu Jun, GM of Inspur HPC, said that due to the sale of IBM's x86 server business, many existing and potential users have to rethink their vendor selection. Wondering or moving is their real hesitation. For most HPC users, providing hardware is only a basic capability. Users pay more attention to the vendor's capabilities to design and build reliable supercomputers, optimize applications, develop the HPC system software, and provide quick and thoughtful HPC service. Inspur can completely cover the above user's demands, and is the right choice for HPC users.
To this aim, Inspur will open a HPC consulting and trial service worldwide, including free HPC systems solutions consulting, free application test, and free trial of HPC system software. At the same time, Inspur will start the "Visit & Try" plan for the Tianhe-2 supercomputer. Users will have the opportunity to try the world's fastest supercomputer.
Inspur has successfully deployed several HPC systems in many regions including the Asia-Pacific, Middle East, Africa, and South America.
Leading Capabilities in HPC Design, Application, and Service
As a participant in the world's fastest supercomputer, Inspur has reached a world class level in HPC system design, development, and deployment. Inspur has a full range of server nodes products, such as air-cooled and water cooling infrastructure, 2-way, 4-way, 8-way, 32-way, and massive storage. Inspur is also able to provide adaptive solutions according to the HPC application characteristics, and create a customized system design.
Considering the poor infrastructure of many emerging markets, Inspur puts forward the HPC container solution. The solution makes rapid deployment possible. With this solution, the HPC construction period would be shortened from years to months. Self-developed administration software, ClusterEngine and Teye, precisely manage the HPC cluster system and significantly increase the efficiency of the HPC supercomputer.
As the world's leader in heterogeneous computing in application optimization, Inspur has parallel computing joint laboratories with Intel and NVidia, respectively. Based on Xeon Phi and GPU, the labs develop and optimize parallel applications in oil and gas, numerical weather forecasting, life sciences, computational fluid dynamics, financial risk analysis, electromagnetic simulation, CAE, and many other fields. As for professional applications support, Inspur has over 10 years' experience in application tuning. The applications serves in 10+ industries for 300+ software databases. The professional application expert team at Inspur HPC can offer comprehensive HPC applications optimizations support.
As for service capabilities, with over a hundred service team members, Inspur HPC provides professional application services of HPC program selection, application requirements analysis, system architecture design, and special product technology verification. Meanwhile, Inspur conducts systematic after-sale service, regular inspections every three months, and has local spare parts storage. Those services ensure rapid trouble-shooting of the customer's hardware and application failures. For VIP customers, Inspur also provide the free on-site services by engineers.
BP Recruitment Plans Open Global Competition Layout
Global network layout is undoubtedly the key of the Inspur HPC I2I program. For the layout, Inspur has started the global HPC BP (Business Partner) recruitment program called "Leaders of Excellence." In this program, Inspur wants to help local BPs to grow into Leader-Class HPC integrators by building HPC joint testing and validation centers, timely sharing of the most advanced HPC technology, setting up a HPC market innovation fund, and prior support for large projects. The goal of the program is to develop 15+ national partners at Leader-Class in 2014.
"Leaders of Excellence" program will be divided into technical support and marketing support. In technical support, Inspur will timely share forward-looking technologies and applications, and provide training, technical support, and other specialist services. Inspur will also deepen the BP cooperation to R&D level, including setting up a joint center for HPC testing and validation, and jointly developing high-quality and customized products and service for local users. In the market support, Inspur will offer up to $100,000 USD grant for market development and help BPs speedily expand their market share. For giant projects, Inspur offers special funds, experts, and technology service support to educate BPs in the deployment of giant projects.
Mr. Huang Gang, vice president for Inspur overseas business, said the core purpose of the "Leaders of Excellence"program is "equality, openness, and growing together." Inspur will offer investment and support to build up long-term and stable partnerships with BPs, and then develop the most promising emerging markets together.
Inspur has successfully established five major overseas business centers in the Asia Pacific, Middle East, Africa, South America, and Europe; founded sales and service organizations in 59 countries, and sold servers, storage, HPC, and intelligent terminals. In 2014, Inspur plans to have the organizations in 100 countries and regions.

KLAZIENAVEEN, The Netherlands, June 18, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --
If the numbers are right, the business world is heading straight for an epidemic.
Theft and loss of tablets is going to be the biggest problem in the upcoming years. Ever
since the massive amount of tablets in the working environment - which started about two
years ago - this problem is growing fast. According to IDC's 'laptop theft' research study
already 91 percent of companies in the United States is dealing with theft and loss of
tablets. Theft of mobile devices is up 21 percent in comparison to last year. Robert van
Balen van Gripzo BV - specialist in theft prevention of tablets and smartphones - states:
"It's unbelievable that many organizations still refuse to acknowledge the problem."
Individuals appear to handle their purchased tablet with much more care. They've had
to work hard for it and in some cases the last savings were spent on it. However the
essence of the problem lies somewhere else. Moral of the business user is considerably
lower. The frequently used tablet is obtained by the boss after all. "If it breaks down or
is stolen, I'm just gonna ask for a new one." This mentality underlies the high theft
rates. The business user handles the tablet, as well as the filed confidential data,
without care. However it is not just the employee's fault. Organizations fail to draw up
protocols to stimulate theft prevention. At the same time current and existing antitheft
facilities are still not being taken seriously. And that is pretty remarkable.
Theft prevention fairly simple
Robert van Balen of the company Gripzo has developed a security device which is very
easy to use. With help of the so called Gorilla Grip, theft is prevented in a simple way.
With the Gorilla Grip (see picture) the tablet is locked and unlocked by the owner/key
holder within seconds. As a result, the user is not required to take the tablet everywhere
he goes and can leave it safely in the workplace. This mechanical antitheft solution is
unique and adjustable to all kinds of tablet sizes.
Multiple target groups and industries fail to realize they are an easy prey. Any place
tablets are used regularly, the possibility of theft is lurking. Offices, hospitals,
museums, restaurants and rental businesses are vulnerable and until this day they have
taken poor antitheft precautions. Also electronic stores (show models), music studios and
(semi)-public institutions should realize that theft of tablets is a big problem which
needs to be tackled.

Fifth Generation Technology Drives New Ultra Short Throw, SLIM, and Signature Offerings
LAS VEGAS, June 18, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Casio America, Inc., a pioneer in the data projection space, shines brightly on the business, education and hospitality industries at InfoComm 2014 where the recently introduced XJ-UT310WN LampFree(®) Ultra Short Throw projector and refreshed SLIM and Signature series will be on display. Casio's portfolio of projectors is powered by its LASER & LED HYBRID Light Source technology featuring LampFree(®), eco-friendly data projection that offers an overall lower total cost of ownership than traditional projectors. The new introductions will be showcased at Casio's booth, #C5120, at the Las Vegas Convention Center from June 18-20.
"We are thrilled to return to InfoComm again this year to showcase our latest generation of LampFree(®) projectors to the industry," said Matt Mustachio, general manager of Casio's Business Projector Division. In addition, the LASER & LED HYBRID Light Source has an estimated 20,000 hour lifespan with minimal brightness degradation and continuous operation.
Casio's LampFree(®) projectors are also environmentally conscious. They are all mercury lamp-free, which eliminates concerns for the proper disposal of used lamps and mercury pollution. Since Casio began shipping LampFree(®) projectors, it has eliminated 15 pounds of mercury from the global waste stream, which represents more than 300,000 projector lamps.

LAS VEGAS, June 18, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- LifeLine Digital, a NYC-based startup, today unveiled a novel digital-out-of-home advertising platform at InfoComm 2014 in Las Vegas. LifeLine's digital-out-of-home advertising network employs patent-pending interactive kiosks that display high-definition content and video advertising for brands and marketers.
"Our high-definition, interactive kiosks now offer free cellphone charging capabilities. During our initial tests, consumers spent an average of 5.5 minutes interacting with our kiosks while charging their smartphones," said David Gabbay, President, LifeLine Digital. "At InfoComm 2014, we are also introducing enhanced interactive functionality including a photobooth app and native image processing capabilities. These interactive apps will utilize our kiosk's multi-touch screen and are designed to attract shoppers to spend even more time with and experiencing the enabled advertising and marketing content."
LifeLine Digital has wrapped a successful test of the LifeLine digital-out-of-home kiosk platform with kiosks installed at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center as well as shopping centers and quick-service-restaurant locations. LifeLine Digital currently operates its network across metro-Atlanta shopping centers and is in negotiations with several major retail and shopping center companies to expand the LifeLine Digital Network to additional locations throughout the U.S.
"For brands, LifeLine Digital offers advertisers and marketers a more affordable option vs. existing in-store shopper networks. Our kiosks, only a few feet from major retail stores, present brands and marketers an ideal opportunity to reach shoppers when they're in the process of making purchase decisions," Gabbay said. "More importantly, LifeLine Digital offers advertisers a potent new tool to create meaningful experiences that go beyond static or digital displays. In addition to the enhanced delivery model, the LifeLine Digital platform enables marketers to generate deep analytics based on various modes of shopper engagement.
LifeLine Digital's patent-pending technology will anonymously offer detailed information unavailable from most digital-out-of-home networks. LifeLine Digital's data for marketers will include: gender, average length of time for consumer interaction, and much more.
LifeLine Digital will exhibit its kiosk technology throughout the week at InfoComm in Las Vegas (Exhibit N1776). LifeLine Digital executives will be in discussions at InfoComm with potential international partners to consider the distribution outside of the U.S. of our interactive kiosk technology.

Wavien Introduces 4-D Holographic Display Using Dual Parabolic Reflectors
4-D Holographic Display using Wavien patented Dual Parabolic Reflector (DPR(TM)) System applied to imaging and display of real life and digital objects in 3-D together with time motion with applications to theme parks, merchandizing, market promotions, security purposes, and remote equipment installations.
VALENCIA, Calif., June 18, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Wavien, Inc., a company that has been specializing in the research and development of reflector based illumination systems, has announced the latest advancement in the application of their patented Dual Parabolic Reflector system. This is used in a 4-D holographic display of real life and digitally created objects with the added dimension of time-motion. The net effect is the relocation of such real life and digitally created objects from their actual location remotely to another location floating in air. Such relocation effects and properties can be applied to theme parks, merchandizing, market promotions, security purposes, disease control, and remote equipment installations. The addition of the 4-th dimension increases the applications many folds compared to the standard 3-dimensional systems.
"DPR is Wavien's Dual Parabolic Reflector system, which uses two off-axis paraboloid surfaces facing each other and a net effect of imaging a real life or digital generated object and relocates the image remotely from the original locations. This system also allows motion of such objects within a certain region producing time-motion of the objects, providing the very exciting 4-th dimension for many applications, which were not possible before," stated Dr. Kenneth Li, President and CEO of Wavien, Inc., who is also the inventor of the RLT technology. "One of the first applications Wavien works on is to relocate merchandize and fashion mannequins inside the store windows to the outside in the middle of the sidewalk. Pedestrians will be approaching such floating images, examining them in close proximity, within arms length, and walk through the images afterwards. It will provide such an extraordinary experience that they will never forget," Dr. Li added. With all the other applications above, Wavien is actively seeking licensees to move the technology into the market place.
About Wavien, Inc.
Wavien, based in Valencia, California, is a technology developing and licensing company with advance reflectors systems applied to long-life, advanced high-performance light source solutions using arc lamps, LEDs, lasers, laser/phosphor hybrids, and plasma lamps, for the next generation of projection and consumer lighting industries. Wavien continues to make major advancements in the LED illumination market with its recycling RLT technology.

SMART kapp(TM)- Revolutionary Replacement for Dry Erase Board Launches at InfoComm 2014
LAS VEGAS, June 18, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --
-- As easy to use as a dry-erase board where users can now capture, save
and share ideas as if by magic
-- Save work instantly in JPEG or PDFs and end the hassle of blurry
photographs
-- Content sharing anywhere in real-time eliminates boundaries for remote
workers
-- Low price tag makes for a cost effective switch from old dry erase
boards or flipcharts
-- Creates efficiency and greater collaboration
SMART Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ: SMT) (TSX: SMA), a leading collaboration company and global provider of visual collaboration solutions, returns to InfoComm 2014, to launch SMART kapp((TM)): a digital capture board that creates a completely new product category - a revolutionary update to the inefficient dry-erase board.
SMART kapp's disruptive technology inspired SMART to create a 'Museum of Productivity' within its InfoComm booth as an irreverent repository of obsolete business tools. On Wednesday June 18, at 4:00pm PST at SMART's InfoComm booth (N2947), the venerable dry-erase board will be inducted into the Museum of Productivity, along with once-essential productivity tools such as the typewriter, floppy disc and pager which have all since been replaced by far superior solutions. The tongue-in-cheek ceremony will be conducted by the museum's over-the-top "curator" Royston Birtwistle, who is also featured in a series of offbeat SMART kapp videos done in the style of a nature documentary. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8hpnDECJsdw
While SMART kapp is just as easy and intuitive to use as a dry-erase board, it delivers so much more with features designed for today's workplace. SMART kapp users write, draw, diagram and brainstorm using an ink marker, just as they would with a dry-erase board. But with SMART kapp, co-workers and clients can follow the process in real-time, where everything appears as if by magic on their digital devices. The work is simply saved with SMART's advanced software and then as a final product as PDFs or JPEGs and then easily shared with anyone, anywhere, instantly.
"Everyone loves the ease of use and versatility of the dry erase board and flip chart that we've been using for decades, but today's workplace has exposed their limitations - their time for replacement has come," says Neil Gaydon, President and CEO SMART Technologies. "How do you save and share the great ideas generated? How do you get the full value from all the hard work and inspiration of productive collaboration? By transcribing the board? By taking low-grade photographs? The answer is SMART kapp, the biggest innovation to the dry erase board since it was invented in 1957."
The secret to being able to capture, save and share content is in the SMART kapp app. Currently available as a free download for iOS and Android users (with Windows mobile support coming soon), the SMART kapp app enables users to pair their tablets or smartphones to a SMART kapp board with a scan of its unique QR code or a tap of its NFC tag. The app activates live web-sharing with up to five users, access to the snapshot library, PDF and JPEG save & share, and Evernote((TM)). Later this year, SMART will launch subscription services within the app which open up advanced features for cloud collaboration. It will include live web sharing with PIN protection, a large number of concurrent web viewers, and advanced search and index tools to get even more out of SMART kapp snapshots.
Installing SMART kapp is as easy as hanging a dry erase board and the only wiring needed is to plug it in to any standard outlet. There is no need for any IT integration which means anyone can be up and running quickly. Simply power it on, connect your mobile device and SMART kapp is ready to go!
A dramatic upgrade to the often ugly dry erase board and flip chart, SMART kapp makes a strong design statement. Its tempered glass surface framed in sleek lines will add style to any office or work space. At just $US899 MSRP for a 42" SMART kapp (a larger size board will be available later in the year), anyone can now afford to dramatically improve their office style, efficiency and collaboration capabilities.

"With obesity on the rise, there is an increasing need for an effective, easy and fun way for people to improve their health," said Carnet Williams, CEO and co-founder of Fitt. Fantasy Medieval MMORPG Brings Epic Battles to Kickstarter
MIAMI, June 18, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --
The Dark Centuries game hopes to raise $100,000 to revitalize the MMO scene
Today Enlightened Studios launches its fantasy medieval MMORPG The Dark Centuries on
crowd-funding site Kickstarter. Starting from $30 for an early bird pledge that includes a
digital copy of the game. The Dark Centuries will see the Vikings, Celts and Saracens
clash in an epic battle for power.
The Dark Centuries is set to bring a much needed revive to the MMORPG scene with a
medieval setting, immersive gameplay, realistic graphics and battles to conquer the
enemies' frontiers, which are sure to get the players' hearts racing and blood pumping.
The Dark Centuries allows players to enjoy the game the way that suits them the best -
whether it is for a couple of hours a day to a few minutes a week; the game flows
naturally to suit any playing rhythm. Gamers can roam the worlds of The Dark Centuries as
a fighter, a mystic, a thief or a crafter, building and developing their own world. The
universe of The Dark Centuries consists of frontiers with different characteristics based
on the distance from the inner realm - the nearest tier is the most protected while the
farthest is the most savage. In the frontier, the players can extend their control over
the territories by conquering keeps, outposts and resources, gathering points by doing so.
Diego Puoti, Game Developer at Enlightened Studios, explains: "We're huge fans of MMOs
and adventures in fantasy worlds, but we've noticed that the majority of games available
at the moment are very similar and way too easy. This is why we want to create a
revolutionary game that provides an experience gamers haven't felt for a while. We hope
The Dark Centuries will offer something different and new, while at the same time staying
true to the genre."
The game will have a range of unique features, for example, while in traditional games
maps are usually given to players on day one, who then rely on them for gameplay, in The
Dark Centuries players will have to work to obtain them. The ability to craft accurate
maps is associated with study of cartography, and as the players progress, the maps will
become available. Quality and accuracy of maps will depend on the player's cartography
skills, making the in-game exploration both a challenging and rewarding experience.
The Dark Centuries also re-introduces bravery acknowledgments. Players will be able to
distinguish themselves by beating their enemies and having their names carved into marble
tags proudly shown in the main capitals. Furthermore, players will be able to become even
more influential by acquiring the rank of quest-givers and affect the social aspect of the
game.
The game will have a dedicated mobile application that enables players to perform
specific tasks even when they're away from their PC. For instance, crafting a weapon or
armour, managing the family treasury or ordering the goods for sale will be possible
anytime and anywhere you are, as long you have your phone with you.
Furthermore, The Dark Centuries backers have a number of fun and exciting pledges to
choose from. For $1,000 you can become a War Lord and be immortalised in the game with a

CreoPop, the World's First 3D Pen with Cool Ink, Launches Crowd-Funding on Indiegogo
World's first 3D pen without any hot parts, melting plastic or unpleasant smell.
SAN FRANCISCO, June 17, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- CreoPop today announced the launch of its crowd-funding campaign on Indiegogo at igg.me/at/CreoPop for the world's first 3D pen with cool ink.
"This is an exciting day for both CreoPop and the 3D printing industry," said Andreas Birnik, co-founder and Marketing Wizard at CreoPop. "With our cool ink, we are taking the personal fabrication industry to a whole new level. CreoPop is a game-changer. It is the first 3D pen that is safe for children and adults alike. There are no hot parts, no melting plastic and no unpleasant smell."
CreoPop uses light sensitive ink that is cured by ultraviolet light from diodes surrounding the nozzle. Within the additive manufacturing / 3D printing industry this process is known as stereolithography and the light-sensitive ink is called photopolymers. While this has previously been used in industrial 3D printing applications, CreoPop is the first time stereolithography is used for a portable consumer device.
In comparison, other 3D pens typically rely on heating ABS and PLA plastic to temperatures of around 250 degrees Celsius / 480 degrees Fahrenheit. This is clearly a safety risk for users and Engadget has previously referred to such pens as "sort of like a hot glue gun that melts plastic".
A unique feature of CreoPop is the wide range of inks available. Based on proprietary IP and in-house R&D, CreoPop uses the world's first photopolymer paste with controllable viscosity. The technology enables the inclusion of various nano-additives to change the properties of the different CreoPop inks. For the launch of the crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo, the available selection includes standard inks in many different colors, glow-in-the-dark inks and temperature sensitive inks. There is ongoing R&D to create inks that are elastic, magnetic, aromatic, conductive, glittering and body paint inks.
"CreoPop is really a marriage between Silicon Valley-style gadgetry and the truly magical power of chemical engineering," said Dmitry Starodubtsev, co-founder and Ubergeek at CreoPop. "This is the reason why so many people find CreoPop cool. They are overloaded with electronic gadgets and yet another app for this or that. In comparison, most people haven't seen a start-up company merge electronics with chemistry and this packs a punch when you see it for the first time."
CreoPop is battery-operated and can be charged using a mini-USB cable connected to a computer or a power adapter. This makes it easy to maneuver the pen as the user's movement is not restricted by any cord. Changing ink cartridges takes just a couple of seconds, making it possible to quickly create designs using inks of many different colors and properties.
CreoPop is a venture-backed company based in Singapore. CreoPop's R&D is supported by the Media Development Authority of Singapore.
About CreoPop
CreoPop (http://www.creopop.com) is the world's first 3D pen with cool ink. In contrast to other 3D pens, there are no hot parts, no melting plastic and no unpleasant smell. Instead, CreoPop uses photopolymers that are solidified using UV light to let users create amazing 3D designs. Since no heating is required, CreoPop is safe in a home environment with children and pets around. The most innovative feature of CreoPop is the large selection of cool inks available including different colors, elastic ink, magnetic ink, glow-in-the-dark ink, temperature sensitive ink and body paint ink.
First Ever Scent-Based Mobile Messaging Platform, oSnap, Launches
Delivery system for scents -- oPhone -- available via Indiegogo for 2015 delivery
oSnap App Transforms Message Delivery by Allowing IOS Users to Tag Photos with Over 300,000 Scents
CAMBRIDGE, Mass., June 17, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Vapor Communications, a technology company with offices in Cambridge, MA and Paris, France, is announcing the launch of oSnap, the company's iPhone application that allows users for the first time ever to tag photographs with over 300,000 unique scents. Scent-tagged images, known as oNotes, can be electronically sent and received via email, Facebook, and Twitter in select hotspots that have the oPhone, the hardware that emits the scent. To witness the first visual interpretation, check out the video on http://www.onotes.com and on YouTube.
Now available for free download in the Apple App store, oSnap gives users the ability to snap a photograph and tag any object in the photograph with scent compositions. Creation of the scents is facilitated by a scrolling window that presents up to 32 unique scents of which users can choose from one to eight, resulting in over 300,000 combinations. Users are then able to name the scent-tagged image and send it electronically to friends. Upon receiving an oNote, users can tap the oNote icon and be directed to onotes.com, where they will see the image and associated scents. If users possess an iPhone in Bluetooth proximity to an oPhone, they will be able to download their aromatic message and smell the scents.
"oPhone introduces a new kind of sensory experience into mobile messaging - a form of communication that until now has remained consigned to our immediate local experience of the world," said David Edwards, founder and CEO of Vapor Communications. "With the oPhone, people will be able to share with anyone, anywhere, not just words, images, and sounds, but sensory experience itself."
Now through July 31 via an Indiegogo campaign, the first commercial oPhones are available for pre-sale to be produced and delivered in early 2015 for a retail price of $149 (a 25% discount on ultimate sale price of the oPhone of $199). A menu of perks and added features with the oPhone are also available and described on the Indiegogo site, including the ability to sign up for an oSnap Foodie Adventure, where people learn through original foodie experiences how to best capture aromatic content via oSnap and share with friends. The group member with the most downloaded oNotes at the local hotspot over the Indiegogo launch campaign wins a free oPhone.
Within the next few months in select hotspots around the world, users will be able to download their oNotes onto the oPhone in freely-accessible public settings. The first hotspots will be located in Paris, France, New York City, and Cambridge, Massachusetts with more to come. Eventually users will be able to share and experience oNotes anywhere with their personal oPhone.
Today, The American Museum of Natural History, home of the first oPhone hotspot in the USA, hosted Edwards, a renowned inventor, for the first transatlantic scent transmission. The American Museum of Natural History will open its oPhone hotspot to the general public for three weekends in July.
The scent-based messaging platform onotes.com is led by Harvard University & Wyss Institute Professor and inventor David Edwards, with co-inventor and former Harvard University student, Rachel Field. David Edwards founded and runs Le Laboratoire in central Paris, a cultural innovation center, where art and design experiments at frontiers of science lead to breakthrough innovations and cultural works.

Mitsubishi Electric US, Inc. Visual and Imaging Systems Division Announces New Version of D-Wall Software for its Display Wall Controllers
Multiple Display Walls Can Now be Supported from a Single Client
LAS VEGAS, June 17, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Mitsubishi Electric Visual and Imaging Systems Division announces the release of Version 6 of its popular D-Wall Display Wall Management Software, which streamlines administration and saves money by supporting multiple display wall servers from a single client. The software manages Mitsubishi Electric display wall systems in control rooms and operations centers, and is incorporated into its line of display wall controllers. The D-Wall Software, and Mitsubishi Electric's controllers and display walls, will be shown in Booth #C-8308 at InfoComm in Las Vegas, June 18-20, 2014.
"Supporting multiple walls from a single client eliminates the need to purchase multiple client licenses for different display walls," said James Chan, director, marketing and business planning, Mitsubishi Electric Visual and Imaging Systems Division. "We've simplified license management to a floating license model, giving our customers more flexibility. To determine the number of licenses required at a site, only the concurrent number of active users at any given time will be counted as users."
Other key benefits of the newest version of D-Wall Software include:
-- Tablet support for easy operation
-- SDK availability to developers for custom configurations
-- Definable operator groups so administrators can limit each operator's
functional roles and permissions
-- Simple drag and drop functionality to place and size windows for easy
display
-- Ability to change wall layout by day, date and time to maximize process
efficiency
-- Operator-customizable, multilingual interface for easier collaboration
between regions
D-Wall Software is pre-installed in Mitsubishi Electric's VC-TPS14S, VC-TP9S and VC-TP2S display wall controllers, which helps manage input and output to the display wall, determines the display layout, and routes images and contents from various sources to the desired areas of the display wall.
Mitsubishi Electric's display wall controllers are high-performance, industrial-grade Windows®-based workstations built with high-end, off-the-shelf components, including the latest Quad-core Intel® processors, memory and storage devices. Available configurations and models can control visualization from as few as 4-screens up to 56-screen display walls in larger scale integration for better team collaboration.

Mitsubishi Electric US, Inc. Visual and Imaging Systems Division Introduces 60" Slim Display Wall Cube at InfoComm
LAS VEGAS, June 17, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Mitsubishi Electric Visual and Imaging Systems Division will unveil its newest display wall cube - the 60" Slim Cube - at InfoComm this week. This space-saving cube is an alternative to LCD flat panels designed specifically for applications that require near-zero bezel, true 24/7 continuous operation, and a low total cost of ownership. The new VS-60HS12U Slim Cube will be on display in Booth #C-8308 at InfoComm in Las Vegas, June 18-20, 2014.
The rear-projection LED display cube measures only 20.5 inches deep, which is approximately 26 percent slimmer than Mitsubishi Electric's similarly sized, conventional rear-projection LED display cubes. Additionally, depending on how it is installed, the footprint depth of the cube frame stand can be as shallow as 15.2 inches.
"Our Slim Cube offers near-zero bezel, giving the display wall image 85 percent less of a grid than most LCD panels," said James Chan, director, marketing and business planning, Mitsubishi Electric Visual and Imaging Systems Division. "Most importantly, Mitsubishi Electric's Slim Cubes offer a factory-rated 110,000 hours of lifetime continuous operation - up to ten or more years - reducing the long-term cost."
"Some integrators choose LCD monitors in rooms with limited real estate and budgets, only to find that gridlines are distracting and LCDs are not robust enough for 24/7 operation," Chan added. Mitsubishi Electric's VS-60HS12U Slim Cube offers a better alternative: it is slim enough for the smallest control and operations rooms; it has almost zero-bezel for easy-to-see, clear video and data across the entire wall; and because they are so long-lived, the overall total cost of ownership is low.
Mitsubishi Electric's new LED rear-projection cubes are the only display wall engines that can run continuously without unnecessary interruption resulting from product attrition or performance degradation. Additional information on the Slim Cube is available at http://www.mitsubishi-displaywall.com.

Zolo Launches Crowdfunding Campaign for Smarter-Together Community
Consumer tech brand uses Indiegogo to pioneer a community-reliant business model and offer premium mobile accessories for all
SANTA CLARA, Calif., June 17, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --New premium mobile accessories brand Zolo today launched a 30-day crowdfunding campaign through Indiegogo for a new modular accessories ecosystem. But Zolo's primary goal is not fundraising. Founded on the principle that premium digital accessories shouldn't cost as much as they do, it uses crowdfunding in a new way to demonstrate how massive scale and direct-to-consumer sales can bring premium products to market at an accessible price.
Brought to you by a team of techies at Anker, a brand dedicated to powering digital life, Zolo was created to simplify mobile accessories. Zolo's modular system of products works together using embedded magnets to simplify how users protect, charge and interact with their mobile devices. Phone cases connect seamlessly to portable battery packs, which in turn effortlessly secure charging cords in place - no more snaps, clicks, tabs, ties or loose ends. Each product in the system is functional on its own, but together the products integrate seamlessly with one another and into everyday activities so users are free to enjoy more life with less fuss.
Through the Indiegogo campaign, Zolo aims to work directly with the community to avoid middleman upcharges and more nimbly apply consumers' feedback. By mobilizing supporters to spread the word, it hopes to build scale without costly ad campaigns and to pass savings on to its customers. A successful campaign will validate the demand for Zolo's products and its unique business model.
For the initial launch, Zolo will price the first core pack of products at $18 for the first 24 hours. The suite will include:
-- Zolo 1x Battery: adds one full battery charge to most smartphones
-- Zolo Short Cable: magnetically wraps around Zolo 1x Battery for secure

Ricoh unveils new color multifunction products with full capabilities for mobility, sustainability and security
42 ppm A4 MFPs' compact footprint ideal for small to medium workgroups
MALVERN, Pa., June 17, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Ricoh Americas Corporation today announced the new RICOH MP C401 and RICOH MP C401SR color multifunction products (MFPs), offering all the capabilities of Ricoh's new intelligent MFP platform in a compact footprint. The devices help companies more efficiently capture, transform and manage information to support the growing necessity for information mobility - enabling employees to access information from anywhere and at any time to make critical business decisions in today's rapidly evolving workplaces.
Ideal for offices with limited space, the RICOH MP C401 series is capable of printing documents as large as 8.5 x 14 inches in resolutions up to high-quality 1,200 dpi. They can serve as standalone devices or as part of a networked fleet in an enterprise business information solution. Along with a small footprint - 24 inches wide x 22 inches deep for the RICOH MP C401SR, which includes 250-sheet internal finishing - the MFPs offer far more power than a desktop MFP, thanks to their robust document handling capabilities, along with a panoply of standard advanced features to drive your office productivity forward. They also meet stringent new standards for ENERGY STAR 2.0 certification, and have earned an EPEAT gold rating in the US market.
"The MP C401 and MP C401SR are specifically designed for the new world of work," said Matt Sakauchi, Vice President, Technology Marketing, Ricoh Americas Corporation. "These powerful yet affordable new MFPs are optimized to mobilize information, putting it directly into the hands of the worker who needs it, precisely when they need it, offering a wide range of usability, security, cloud and sustainability features."
Operation can be a tablet-like experience with a new optional 10.1-inch-wide Super VGA Smart Operation Panel offering drag-and-drop, pinch-flick-and-swipe action. With the optional Browser Unit, the panel provides access to cloud-based document management and printing services through Ricoh's Integrated Cloud Environment (ICE). Users can scan documents and files to popular Web services, transforming those documents into searchable PDF documents on the fly.
The RICOH MP C401 and RICOH MP C401SR support today's mobile workforce with the RICOH Smart Device Print&Scan app, which enables smartphones and tablets (iOS and Android) to seamlessly operate with multifunction products and printers through the cloud. Optional Ricoh HotSpot printing similarly enables smartphone and tablet users to print via email, mobile app or the Web.
Exemplifying Ricoh's sustainability commitment, a number of features in the RICOH MP C401 and RICOH MP C401SR are designed to save energy and reduce environmental impact, including standard duplexing, customizable print quotas, and an eco-friendly indicator to prominently display paper usage. These models can be programmed to power up in the morning and power down at night, or according to any schedule a customer prefers.
Addressing security and compliance concerns, the new MFPs offer password-protected, user-specific authentication; address book and stored document encryption; and a DataOverwriteSecurity System (DOSS) that destroys latent images and stored data. A new Mandatory Security Information Printing feature can apply name, time and login of the authorized user on output.
The manufacturer's suggested retail price for the RICOH MP C401 is $5,880 and $6,405 for the RICOH MP C401SR. Both are priced low at the level of predecessor 32 ppm models. The RICOH MP C401SR comes standard with a 250-sheet internal finisher for stapling up to 50-page print jobs.

Acision Launches WebRTC SDK Enabling the Next-Generation of One-click IP Communication Services
ATLANTA, WebRTC Conference & Expo IV, June 17, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --
Forge by Acision Platform Empowers Enterprises to Enhance Customer
Engagement with the very latest Video, Voice, Messaging and Content Sharing Services
Acision, a global leader in mobile engagement services and an industry-first mover in
WebRTC technology, today announced the launch of its WebRTC SDK, which is now available
via its forge by Acision [https://forge.acision.com ] API platform. The Acision WebRTC SDK
will enable enterprises to easily incorporate browser-based WebRTC functionality, such as
video and voice calling, as well as content sharing, chat and IM sessions, into web and
mobile applications.
Enterprises, particularly those operating contact centres, are always looking to
enhance communication systems to advance customer engagement. With Acision's WebRTC SDK,
enterprises and developers can create new applications or add-ons to pre-existing
applications and services by using the single interface and self-service access of
Acision's forge site. Additionally, enterprises will benefit from the carrier-grade
security, reliability and expertise associated with Acision's 20+ year messaging history.
Supporting a broad range of iOS, Android devices and web browsers, key features
include:
- Smarter communication: Rich messaging, presence, and audio/video API
enables application developers to tailor communications to their needs.
- Security: WebRTC media is secured using best-of-breed technology. Messaging,
presence, and signalling are transported over secure HTTP and WebSocket connections.
- Scalable, cloud-based solution: The Acision SDK is deployed in a secure HIPPA
certified, elastic-scaling, multi-tenant, public cloud. We can also offer private
cloud deployments.
- Acision SDK: The SDK allows enterprises and carriers to quickly and easily add
rich B2B and B2C communications to native mobile and web apps.
Matt Cockett, EVP, Enterprise at Acision, commented: "WebRTC technology will
revolutionise the way businesses across all industries engage with their customers. With
our solution, which is part of our forge by Acision portfolio, companies can integrate the
latest click-to-call (voice), video-chat and IP messaging solutions, which can be built
into or on top of websites or mobile apps, via a single SDK all in one place, which is
unique in this market. Combining multiple pieces of valuable functionality into one SDK
that can then be integrated into internal systems means businesses can launch
differentiated services quickly while focusing their own development resources elsewhere."
"For retailers, for example, Acision's WebRTC SDK functionality means the ability to
increase customer loyalty through more varied and cost effective methods of communication
over and above email and SMS. Retailers can benefit due to the quick-to-deploy nature of
the toolkit, giving customers the ability to video chat with a representative or the
option to upload pictures. Video chat can also be implemented across other sectors such as
healthcare for patient support or cable providers for technical support," continued
Cockett.
This week, 17th -19th June, Acision will be showcasing how it is powering
transformative technology to provide next-level communication experiences at TMCNet's
WebRTC Conference & Expo IV. Representatives from Acision will be on hand throughout the

DOVER, N.J., June 17, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Casio America, Inc. is pulling out all the stops for National Music Day on June 21st by participating in the 8th annual Make Music New York event for the second consecutive year. As one of the nation's largest annual music events, Make Music New York holds over 1,000 live concerts that create music and harmony throughout the city. This year, in conjunction with the event, Casio will spotlight its' Privia Piano Bar, which features a pianist playing live music.

"We are thrilled to return to Make Music New York this year with our Privia Piano Bar, where music-lovers will spend the day celebrating music by hearing the timeless classics from Billy Joel played on our Privia Pro PX-5S."
Sponsored by Casio, the Privia Piano Bar will drive through the streets of New York City with accomplished British pianist, Simon Mulligan, who will play songs from Grammy-winning artist Billy Joel live on a Privia Pro PX-5S stage piano. The Privia Piano Bar truck will stop for one hour sets at five partner venues where Mulligan will accompany anyone interested in belting out a Billy Joel tune. The Privia Piano Bar will start outside of Symphony Space on West 95th Street, work its way to Casio's G-Shock Soho store and end up outside of Madison Square Garden where Casio will engage dedicated Billy Joel fans waiting in line for the concert being held that evening. As an added bonus, participants in the Privia Piano Bar will be invited to leave their contact information for a chance to win house seats to Billy Joel's concert that night at Madison Square Garden.

The newly developed Privia Pro PX-5S is a genuine stage piano, advanced MIDI controller and performance instrument packed with functions that set it apart from other digital pianos. A phrase sequencer allows the performer to trigger sequences and riffs which can be triggered and transpose on the fly, allowing for unheard of performances by a single musician. Casio's PX-5S even provides the ability to record a 44.1kHz .wav file directly to a USB thumb drive so that rehearsals, performances and moments of inspiration can be easily captured and shared.
