Sony Adds New Pocket-Sized RX100 III Camera to Acclaimed Cyber-shot® RX Line
New RX100 III Model Features Large-Aperture ZEISS® 24-70mm lens1, Built-in OLED Viewfinder with ZEISS T* Coating, BIONZ® X processor and more
SAN DIEGO, May 16, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Building on its lineup of acclaimed compact cameras, Sony Electronics has introduced a new addition to its popular Cyber-shot RX series - the pocket-sized RX100 III camera.
Based on the same sleek, stylish design as the existing RX100 and RX100 II models, the new RX100 III features a specially developed ZEISS(®) Vario-Sonnar T* 24-70mm(1 )F1.8-2.8 lens and adds a built-in OLED viewfinder with ZEISS T* coating. The camera utilizes the same high-resolution 20.1 MP 1.0-type back-illuminated CMOS image sensor as the existing RX100II model, and adds the powerful BIONZ X processor featured in several high-end Sony cameras including the full-frame 7, 7R and 7S models.
"Sony continues to push the modern limits of engineering and innovation with our Cyber-shot RX family of products," said Patrick Huang, director of the Cyber-shot business at Sony Electronics. "With the new RX100 III model, we've added a brighter, wider aperture lens and an impressive retractable OLED EVF, while also utilizing the latest Sony imaging technologies to boost the camera's processing speed and efficiency. And we've done this without sacrificing any of the true 'pocketability' of our RX100 line, creating an especially unique compact camera unlike anything else in market today."
New ZEISS® Vario-Sonnar T* 24-70mm(1 )F1.8-F2.8 Lens
The unique new ZEISS lens on the RX100 III camera covers the popular 24 -70mm(1) focal length with a wide F1.8 - F2.8 aperture. This is particularly noteworthy at the 70mm telephoto end of the lens, where the maximum F2.8 aperture allows it to gather about twice as much light as the RX100 and RX100 II models (at 70mm), ensuring that portrait subjects can be captured against beautiful background defocus. The wide aperture also allows the lens to capture moving subjects clearly without any blur due to camera and/or subject shake.
The versatile new lens is capable of capturing dramatic landscapes or large group photos at the wide 24mm length while also boasting impressive macro shooting capabilities throughout the focal range. For example, it can still focus accurately as close as 30cm from the front of the lens (working distance) when fully extended. There's also a built-in 3-stop (1/8) neutral density filter that adds to shooting flexibility in a wide range of outdoor conditions.
The new ZEISS lens realizes outstanding corner-to-corner sharpness, with nine total aspherical glass elements including two advanced aspherical elements that have been cemented together - a world's first in lens manufacturing(2). This results in an ultra-compact physical footprint while maintaining a wide maximum angle of view. Additionally, the 24-70mm lens(1) features ZEISS T* coating that minimizes flare and ghosting and a seven-blade circular aperture that enhances 'bokeh' background defocus.
Clear, High-Precision Built-in EVF with ZEISS T* Coating
Largely based off of customer feedback on existing RX100 series cameras (RX100 and RX100II), the new RX100 III adds a versatile, high-quality OLED Tru-Finder(TM) electronic viewfinder. The EVF has an impressive 1.4 million dot resolution, adding exceptional brightness and clarity to the overall framing and viewing experience, and handily pops in and out of the top of the camera body based on shooting preferences. This allows the camera to operate in the traditional 'rangefinder' style without sacrificing any of its portability or compactness.
The unique new EVF also features a specially-designed eyepiece lens with ZEISS T* coating, dramatically reducing reflections that can interfere with clear viewing. The viewfinder achieves exceptional corner-to-corner clarity, and includes an eye sensor that automatically switches between viewfinder and monitor display.
Exmor R CMOS Sensor and BIONZ X Processor
The powerful new RX100 III camera shares the same critically acclaimed 1.0-type back-illuminated 20.1 MP Exmor R CMOS image sensor featured in the RX100 II and RX10 cameras. With approximately four times greater image capture area than the 1/2.3 type image sensors commonly used in compact cameras, the sensor takes in significantly more light, translating into brighter, clearer images and sharper Full HD videos that capture all of the finer details of a scene.
The high-resolution sensor is paired with the evolved BIONZ X image processor introduced in the 7, 7R models this past fall. Around three times faster than the BIONZ processing engine in the RX100 and RX100 II models, it employs detail reproduction, diffraction-reducing and area-specific noise reduction technologies that allow the camera to produce amazingly detailed images and Full HD videos in all types of lighting conditions.
Pro-Quality Full HD Video Capture
The new RX100 III model is equipped with a host of HD video capabilities to satisfy the most demanding enthusiasts.
Other video features include a 'clear' HDMI(®) output for reviewing footage on an external monitor, 120 fps recording at 720p HD resolution and zebra pattering on the LCD and built-in EVF. The camera also has dual video recording capability (XAVC S / AVCHD files(4) along with MP4 files), which allows users to shoot a high bit-rate video for storage or editing purposes while also recording a lower bit rate video that's optimized for sharing via Wi-Fi(®).
The camera also has Intelligent Active Mode - another first for Cyber-shot RX series cameras - which utilizes Sony's frame analysis technology and 5-axis compensation to dramatically reduce the effects of camera shake while shooting movies.
Camera Design, Customizability and Control
Despite its small "pocketable" size, the new RX100 III features many opportunities to adjust common shooting settings, including a 'Fn' key, customizable control ring and a "C" custom button with more than 40 assignable functions.
New to the RX series, the RX100 III model features an articulated LCD that can tilt upward by about 180 degrees for self-portraits and all the way downward to approximately 45 degrees for high-angle shots. The camera also can output still images in 4K resolution(6) with full wide-gamut TRILUMINOUS Color support when connected to compatible 4K televisions.
Wi-Fi(®) and PlayMemories(TM)
The RX100 III camera has built-in Wi-Fi, giving consumers one-touch connection with Xperia(®) or NFC-compatible Android(TM) smartphones or tablets for instant image transfer and sharing(2). A single touch also activates Smart Remote Control, linking the camera with a smartphone or tablet for a live image preview, to fire the shutter from a distance and to review shots instantly.
For devices without NFC one-touch capabilities, users can wirelessly transfer images and videos and activate Smart Remote Control through Sony's free PlayMemories Mobile(TM) application, available for the iOS and Android platforms.
The camera is also the first Cyber-shot RX series model to feature compatibility with Sony's growing assortment of downloadable Sony PlayMemories Camera Apps(5), adding a range of exciting and creative capabilities. Learn more at http://www.sony.net/pmca .
Pricing and Availability
The Cyber-shot RX100 III compact camera will be available in June for about $800. The camera and a range of compatible Cyber-shot accessories will be sold at all Sony retail stores (http://www.store.sony.com) and other authorized dealers nationwide.
The camera will be showcased to the public for the first time this weekend at the PMA Big Photo Show (http://www.thebigphotoshow.com ) in Los Angeles at the LA Convention Center. Show hours are 10 AM - 6 PM on May 17(th) - 18(th), Sony Booth #301.

Arkados Announces Launch of Smart Factory Solution for Internet of Things
The Process & Event Management System ("PEMS") v.1.0 is a cloud based productivity and data management solution for today's manufacturing environments.
NEWARK, N.J., May 15, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Arkados Group, Inc. (OTCQB: AKDS) has announced the release of our Process & Event Management System ("PEMS") v.1.0, a seamless, flexible, robust and dynamic cloud based platform designed to manage the production and manufacturing process of electronic devices. The system allows for real-time status and bi-directional controls (accessible even via mobile and remote client devices) throughout the entire life cycle of a production environment as well as dealing with certain events, which traditionally require human intervention in the production facilities. Additionally, it also offers the ability to gather, harvest, analyze and report historical data and provides integrated controls for energy and environmental conditions relevant to production environments as well as dynamic and flexible reporting for multiple internal and external stakeholders.
Arkados' PEMS provides individual stakeholders in the value chain (i.e. vendor, manufacturer, OEM, distributor, product developer, retailer) complete transparency throughout the manufacturing, distribution and life cycle of products. The dashboard can be shared with multiple value-chain stakeholders and can be customized to send out-going inspection product data automatically, and analysis of the data can generate either a confirmation of passed inspection, or an alert of defect or potential weakness of the product.
Arkados' PEMS enables machines to predict failures that trigger maintenance processes autonomously and notify maintenance and operations personnel. This proactive responsiveness and timely intervention prevents mishaps, reduces wait times, eliminates redundancy, and identifies weaknesses, resulting in enhanced performance and increased productivity. Additionally, the platform offers rule-based logistics that react to unexpected changes or interruptions in production such as materials shortages and production bottlenecks.
Our PEMS is designed to allow machines and legacy systems to communicate and control each other, but also intervenes and remediates autonomously. By connecting machines and collecting valuable data, it creates an intelligent network along the entire value chain for enterprise-wide data acquisition. Arkados LinqUSP(TM) extends the PEMS functionality by collecting product health and usage data, which can be fed back to the PEMS. For network-connected products, it can also use product data to provide services during the entire product lifecycle.
Speaking about how this launch will open up new revenue streams, CEO of Arkados Group, Inc. Terrence DeFranco stated, "Designed for high volume electronic device manufacturers, the release of Arkados PEMS v.1.0 continues to demonstrate the scalability of our company and bodes well for future successes. With its ubiquitous mobility, this 'uber' production/manufacturing manager offers real time monitoring and management, delivers cost savings by reducing defects, and helps manage returned devices. In addition, the data that is gathered from our PEMS can be used to enhance the value of our proprietary LinqUSP(TM), resulting in higher end user satisfaction. This is an exciting launch and a significant milestone for the company given the demands for more efficient manufacturing processes worldwide. We expect to extend the usability of this management system to other processes very soon and capitalize on this large and growing global market."

Casio's LampFree® Projectors Brighten Up Classrooms In Phoenix Union High School District
Casio and ImmediaEdu Installed More Than 1,400 Signature Projectors Across All Campuses
DOVER, N.J., May 15, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, educators are tasked with choosing viable technologies to integrate into the classroom that are not only engaging, but also portable, easy-to-use and, most importantly, cost-effective. With limited budgets, choosing the best technology with the lowest total cost of ownership is paramount.
As part of an overall engagement initiative, the Phoenix Union High School district in Arizona wanted to replace existing and inefficient classroom projectors with a bulb-less, green solution; to do so, the Phoenix Union High School district sought out ImmediaEdu - a company specializing in integrated AV systems and interactive classrooms to improve student achievement and teacher effectiveness- to help find high-quality, low maintenance projectors for ongoing classroom use. With the help of ImmediaEdu, located in Phoenix, AZ, the Phoenix Union High School district installed 1,480 of Casio's Signature XJ-M250 projectors across all of its campuses, which accounts for 16 schools with more than 27,000 students and nearly 3,000 employees.
ImmediaEdu recommended Casio's Signature XJ-M250 projectors because they are LampFree(®) and they run on Casio's state-of-the-art LASER & LED Hybrid Light Source. This means that expensive lamps - which typically cost almost as much as the original projector over the course of one year - do not need to be replaced every few months. With the projectors having an estimated lifespan of 20,000 hours, Phoenix Union schools can run the projectors as often as necessary.
"Only a few manufacturers offered lamp-free LED projectors when we started the Phoenix Union project, but Casio offered the most powerful LampFree(®) light engine for the price range," said Alexis Cruz-Christensen, Vice President, educational partnerships at ImmediaEdu. "Additionally, with a large zoom range, Casio's LampFree(®) projectors allowed us to replace a variety of existing projectors with different throw ranges without having to move existing ceiling mounts - making the transition easier for all parties involved."
"Casio was pleased to have worked with ImmediaEdu on this project," said Matt Mustachio, general manager of Casio's Business Projector Division. "We understand that budgets are limited, so it's very rewarding when working with educators to help them get the best solution based hardware offered today. Casio has been providing LampFree(®) solutions for educators for several years and will continue to grow our lineup in the education sector, offering solutions is much more satisfying than simply offering product."
Casio's Signature XJ-M250 LampFree(®) projectors are DLP(TM) 3D ready and can display 3D content from a 3D capable computer. Educators can engage students on an entirely new level by bringing challenging lessons and lectures to life with vivid and exciting images that jump off the screen. Educators can also convert and view their own 2D material with the optional 2D-3D conversion software, which will help produce imaginative and relevant visuals and lesson materials. Additionally, the Intelligent Brightness Control features an ECO function which conserves power while illuminating sharp imagery, automatically adjusting the brightness to suit the environmental lighting conditions of any lecture hall and classroom.

Iconic Reference Reengineered and Blade Range Expanded - World-Class Performance And Uncompromised Sound In A Brand New Package
MARLBORO, N.J., May 15, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- British loudspeaker manufacturer KEF has announced updates to two of its flagship speaker lines: the Blade Two, whichgrows the striking Blade family, and The Reference, the latest generation of the world-famous Reference line. Debuting today at the Munich High End Show, the new releases feature the stylistic and technological hallmarks of their forebears and deliver the superlative sound for which KEF has become legendary.
"The Reference and Blade Two are both logical extensions of classic KEF lines," says Johan Coorg, KEF's Global Brand Ambassador. "They're enhanced by new technologies and advanced materials that didn't exist previously, massively extending performance to fully realize the potential of contemporary music and movie formats. We want every note, every voice, every sound rendered exactly how it was intended to be heard."
About Blade Two
At the heart of the Blade Two system lies KEF's signature Uni-Q 'point source' driver array--a 25mm vented aluminium dome tweeter placed at the exact acoustic center of a sophisticated 125mm midrange driver, providing direction-agnostic high- and mid-range response that floods the listening space evenly with a flawless, natural sound field.
Blade Two incorporates four powerful 6.5" bass drivers, delivering distortion-free low frequency response, rendered beautifully despite the engineering challenges associated with their placement.
The parabolic curvature of Blade Two's high-density polyurethane enclosure increases cabinet rigidity and, with the drivers fully decoupled, sound is only generated from driver movement and not from the cabinet. Blade Two is smaller in height and depth than the original Blade: its size retains the integrity of the iconic visual design and the acoustic prowess while making placement within smaller environments easier.
About The Reference
The Reference system features the latest version of KEF's revolutionary Uni-Q driver, engineered to create high-frequency and middle-frequency performance from a single apparent source in the highest fidelity. The Reference also features 6.5" bass drivers, further enhancing its substantial low-end performance with an advanced 1000W subwoofer.
The Reference's distinctive front baffle is made from laminated aluminium and resin composite which is formed in extreme temperature and pressure to add rigidity to the cabinet structure and providing acoustic damping.
There are five Reference designs: a three-way bookshelf speaker, two formidable three-way floor standers, a three-way timbre-matched center channel, and the powerful twin-driver subwoofer, which utilizes KEF's ingenious 'force-cancelling' technology. This configuration allows both drive units to operate more effectively, giving noticeably greater definition to low frequency effects.
KEF's ambition with its new Blade Two and Reference Series in these latest iterations remains exactly what it has always been: to achieve the purest and most accurate reproduction of sound, and to perfectly capture the full emotional range of the original recorded performance.

Aardman Animations, the creator of Shaun the Sheep, has teamed up with Nominet Trust
to launch Shaun's Game Academy [http://shaunsgameacademy.co.uk ], a national competition
for young people to build online games based on the adventures of the popular TV
character.
The winning "kiddy-coder" will be invited to spend the day at Aardman Animations
[http://www.aardman.com/aardman-characters ], also famous for family favourites Wallace &
Gromit, to have their creation developed further by the studio's award-winning games team.
Nominet Trust [http://www.nominettrust.org.uk ], the UK's only dedicated tech for good

skills by appealing to their interests in gaming, animation and popular culture. The
competition will give young users a suite of characters, backgrounds and effects from the
stop-motion animation series to create simple, fun and exciting games using the Scratch
coding platform.
The competition, which runs until September 2014, will allow kids, school teachers and
families to get involved. Teachers will have access to resources they can use in class to
engage young people ahead of September's ICT curriculum change, which requires them to
teach basic coding.

makers for the past two years. Shaun's Games Academy is the latest national initiative,

The new generation of the ZEISS CONTURA coordinate measuring machine is more attractive than ever: it now offers additional measuring ranges and a wide spectrum of optical sensors.
Uncompromising Quality Control
MAPLE GROVE, Minn., May 14, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The latest generation of the successful ZEISS CONTURA is now entering the market. ZEISS is officially introducing the coordinate measuring machine at the CONTROL show in Stuttgart, Germany, beginning May 6, 2014. This system provides a platform for flexible, reliable and uncompromising quality assurance. It is even more precise than its predecessor and offers a large package of optical sensors on top of additional measuring ranges. Outstanding scanning technology, ZEISS CALYPSO reference software and a highly tuned overall system enable ZEISS CONTURA to maintain its place as the standard in its class.
Like no other ZEISS coordinate measuring machine, ZEISS CONTURA has made high-performance measuring technology available to the masses. The latest generation will continue on this proven path. A reliable measuring system is the result of the interaction of its components: design, sensors, software and service. "With ZEISS CONTURA, customers receive a well-balanced system and thus a guarantee for stable, reproducible precision. Put simply: results you can rely on," says Andrzej Grzesiak from ZEISS Industrial Metrology business group. Thanks to its robust design, ZEISS CONTURA can also be used near production. The latest and most powerful scanning sensors from ZEISS are available for the machine.
Tailored sensors
In tune with the various customer requirements, sensors are available in the direkt, RDS and aktiv versions. With the ZEISS VAST XXT probe, the direkt model enables scanning. This configuration is ideal for small workpieces, for which a small single or star stylus is sufficient. Scanning makes it possible to efficiently and precisely measure the form in addition to the size and location. For parts with different angular positions, the RDS sensor model is the right choice. The RDS articulating probe holder can be freely positioned in 2.5 degree increments, resulting in more than 20,000 possible positions. Thanks to the RDS-CAA, the data from every single position can be mathematically calculated in just a few minutes. "This drastically improves the utilization level of the machine and results in additional possibilities to immediately measure even complex angular positions," states Grzesiak. Its sensor interface permits the flexible use of contact and optical sensors, including the new ZEISS LineScan sensor. It enables the fast optical measurement of features.
The aktiv configuration is recommended when long styli are needed for measurements deep inside a part or for additional demands on precision and speed. The ZEISS VAST XTR gold and VAST XT gold premium probes are available. This active regulation enables highly accurate measurements with very long, heavy stylus systems. "Active scanning is a unique value added by ZEISS," emphasizes Grzesiak. navigator technology from ZEISS, which enables a tangential approach without a stop & go, as well as circular or helical scanning, results in added productivity.
Choice of measuring ranges
Another new feature is the range of measuring volumes. The ZEISS CONTURA family has eight different sizes starting with a measuring volume of 700 x 700 x 600 mm up to 1200 x 2400 x 1000 millimeters. From a design standpoint, ZEISS CONTURA is based on proven features: its efficient, highly precise air bearings are an in-house development. ZEISS AirSaver can also be integrated for additional savings. This technology reduces compressed air consumption by up to 60 percent depending on how it is used.

Launch Date Announced for Premier Mounts LMVS Press & Release(TM) Pop Out Slim Mount
Easy kickstand access for displays sitting less than 2" from mounting surfaces
FULLERTON, Calif., May 14, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Premier Mounts® provides the industry's lowest profile video wall mount solution for ultra thin displays with an official June 9, 2014 release date for their sleek-design LMVS Press & Release(TM) Pop Out Slim Mount. This advanced mounting option showcases the seamless design for a variety of recessed wall or picture-framed digital signage applications. Displays between 37-63 inches and up to 100 pounds meld even closer to walls for matrix and video wall configurations, as well as single display applications. Premier Mounts is the original innovator of the Press & Release(TM) feature that allows the user to push in and have the display spring out for easy accessibility anywhere on a video wall. The Service-Position Kickstand offers even faster maintenance with clear access to the rear of the display.
"As digital signage advances we're seeing a rise in demand for thinner displays that meet public space code requirements, both in video walls and single displays," states Rich Pierro, co-CEO of Premier Mounts. "Our customers asked, and we responded with an ADA-Compliant Mounting solution using our trademark press-and-release technology capable of video wall, recessed, and single use applications. The problem the LMVS solves is that its 1.98" depth allows installations to meet ADA code when using ultra-thin flat panel displays. When LMVS is installed into recessed spaces using standard 2x4 wall construction, it allows a much lower profile than other mounting solutions while still allowing individual panel access for maintenance"
Advanced Presentation with ADA Compliance
Public space coding demands ADA-compliancy, requiring under 2-inches of space between a display and the wall it mounts to. The new LMVS Press & Release(TM) Pop Out Slim Mount meets this compliance by melding displays under this 2-inch requirement. The LMVS delivers a plumb surface between a recessed display and the wall it sits in, and is an ideal pullout mount for shallow wall spaces where standard 2x4 walls don't allow enough space to recess the mount while still maintaining a low-profile appearance with a typical flat-panel mount.
ROI-Decreasing Service and Maintenance costs
The LMVS Press & Release(TM) Pop Out Slim Mount cuts service call times with advanced technology such as the service-position kickstand, used to prop the display at an accessible 7° angle for easy access during display maintenance. The LMVS also features a Single Top-Engaged Hook to allow for one-point latch and hang display mounting, rather than using complicated two-point straight-in placement. Premier Mounts' trademarked Press & Release access design also allows display and media player maintenance to be performed with minimal effort and manpower. Time-tested for service accessibility in less than 5 seconds, just one person is able to correct equipment issues with a gentle press to the display edges, thus extending it away from the configuration without the need to remove layers of video wall equipment to access a display.
Added Features Focused on Reducing Installation Costs
A variety of installation features create value-add to the LMVS Press & Release(TM) Pop Out Slim Mount. Top-adjustable fine-tune points allow precise post installation adjustability using an included Comfort-Grip Ball-Nose Allen driver. Either use the precision-friendly long reach tool for last-minute level, tilt and alignment changes or adjust the accessible knobs by hand for a tools-free installation. The LMVS includes a Lateral Shift Locking Screw for security in final adjustments, and adjustment screws line in a single linear location for ease of installation. The scissor-design with compact mounting arms grant 8-inches of extension with one smooth motion, and the "click-it" locking feature confirms the display is secure through an audible sound once the mount is fully engaged, retracted or seated. For video wall applications, a universal spacer kit also comes included with the LMVS Press & Release(TM) Pop Out Slim Mount and can be used in conjunction with mounts across the LMV product line.

Qubitekk Unveils First Plug-And-Play Quantum Source For Emerging Quantum Computing And Quantum Cryptography Marketplace
- Device can significantly reduce the development time associated with emerging quantum computer designs
- Can be used to produce quantum repeaters and quantum memory devices
- First application is quantum encryption to protect critical infrastructure from cyber attack
- Future applications unlimited
- Developed by Dept. of Energy quantum entanglement scientist
SAN DIEGO, May 14, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- San Diego startup Qubitekk (quibitekk.com) unveiled today its Quantum Entanglement Source, a critical component for quantum computers and virtually unhackable quantum encryption systems. Formerly known as GridCOM Technologies, the company was recently renamed to reflect its core quantum entanglement technology, rather than a single application.
The Qubitekk Quantum Entanglement Source (QES1) simplifies and drastically reduces the cost of generating and controlling quantum bits, or qubits, the life-blood of powerful universal quantum computers. And since the QES1 can be easily scaled into arrays, engineers are for the first time free to explore larger, more powerful quantum computing architectures.
Without the QES1, creating these qubits is highly complex, cumbersome and very expensive. Currently only nation states, government agencies and multi-billion dollar corporations can afford quantum computers. These early commercial systems are not "universal," meaning they are capable of solving only a very narrow range of problems. Even with these limitations, they are still room-sized and require special cryogenics to operate at near absolute zero.
"The Qubitekk QES1 allows developers to explore more complex quantum computing architectures in less time, less space, and at a much lower development cost," said Dr. Duncan Earl, Qubitekk founder and CTO. "The possibilities are endless. We could never think up all the ways quantum technology could be applied. Our hope is that the QES1 will speed the advances needed to make quantum computing and other quantum technologies a widespread reality."
Without qubits, quantum computers won't work. Just as classical computers use electrons to move and modify bits of information, quantum computers use qubits - made from photons or atoms - to do the same.
Beyond Quantum Computing: Quantum Encryption and the Internet of Things
Just as increased human communication changed society in the last century, machine-to-machine (M2M) communications will revolutionize our world this century.
Trusted communications over the Internet are possible because of relatively secure public key encryption. But technology is entering a new era: The 'Internet of Things.' By some estimates there will be 26 billion connected devices on the Internet by 2020, a development that brings with it numerous challenges, including those in security that traditional communication models have not yet addressed.
At the same time, quantum computers are becoming commercially available. With the potential to process millions of calculations simultaneously, quantum computers will ultimately render today's math-based public key encryption algorithms useless.
Without a secure, scalable alternative, the Information Age will grind to a halt. Currently, no solution exists for securing communications in a post-quantum computer world.
Qubitekk's future proof quantum encryption solution can authenticate and guarantee the integrity of wired and wireless communications regardless of computational advances.
For Qubitekk, the first application of its QES1 will be to protect critical infrastructure.
Protecting the Electrical Grid from Cyber Attack
There is no doubt the US electrical grid is vulnerable. Widely reported results of a federal analysis released in February 2014 concluded that even a small-scale attack could cause a national blackout.
Leading government, industry and cyber experts agree that such an attack is only a matter of time.
For that reason, Qubitekk's first goal is to fortify the vulnerable US power grid, which currently consists of about 40 million networked devices (power stations, transformers, reclosers, etc.), all of which use public key encryption. With the adoption of Smart Meters, that number is expected to reach 300 million by 2020. Each device is a potential entry point for malicious hackers.
How does it work?
Entangled photons created by the QES1 share a special bond. Any change in one is instantly registered with the other, no matter where in the universe each may be. It's science even Einstein called "spooky."
Qubitekk utilizes this natural quality in its Quantum Data Locking system, which will be the first commercial quantum encryption solution that can rapidly and cost effectively protect any M2M network from cyber attack.
"Qubitekk's Quantum Data Locking solution can guarantee that the command a smart meter receives originated from the proper utility and not a terrorist. It can also guarantee that the message was not tampered with in any way. It can do this forever and without the need to manage secret keys and/or algorithms," Earl said.
Beyond the Power Grid: Protecting the Homeland, Privacy and More.
Critical infrastructure is just the beginning. In the years to come, Qubitekk aims to be the first to commercialize scalable quantum encryption networks that financial institutions, transportation providers, telecommunications companies, retailers, military and other M2M network owners can quickly and easily apply to protect their equipment, systems and data.
An increasing number of breaches into the customer databases of major retailers and recent revelations about mass surveillance are fueling public concern about privacy and security.
"Quantum cryptography is our best weapon against these growing threats," said Earl. "A priority must be placed on developing these solutions before it is too late."
About Qubitekk, Inc.
San Diego-based Qubitekk, formerly known as GridCOM Technologies, is a private company founded in 2012 to commercialize the core technology required to speed the adoption of quantum computing and cryptography technologies and applications. Dr. Duncan Earl, founder and CTO, is an expert on quantum entanglement solutions, having served 20 years at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), most recently with the Cyberspace Sciences and Information Intelligence Research group. Learn more at http://www.qubitekk.com
Qubitekk's Quantum Data Locking technology was named as one of Popular Science magazine's "20 Ideas that will Change the World," in January 2014 under the company's former name, GridCOM Technologies.
Since 2012 Qubitekk has raised more than $2 million in working capital.

"RHUB's approach to their customers' needs/requirements border on the criminal and insane.
This is not my view, this is the view of most of RHUB's Customers.
Customers have said - Why would you ever want to sell such a heavily featured
product/solution outright? Why would you ever want to give every employee in a company the
ability to use these features, from virtually any device, from anywhere in the world that
has an internet connection, when you can charge them based upon named licenses?
Most existing customers of RHUB solutions were used to paying for a hosted solution,
so the answer is simple, comments Mr. Suter. Customers nowadays want a return on their
investment, our competitors, who for the most part simply cannot provide with their Hosted
solution, because they can never own it as the costs keep accumulating.

Robolinux Releases Revolutionary Support Package to Run Windows Virtual Machine on All Linux Operating Systems
Windows users will now be able to clone their existing C: Drive and convert it into a virtual machine with Robolinux's C: Drive to VM Support Package
CARMEL, Calif., May 14, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Robolinux, founded in 2011, has released a "Revolutionary C: Drive to VM" Support Package that instantly creates a Windows XP or Windows 7 virtual machine by cloning the Windows C: Drive. This process takes only a few minutes to create a version of Windows that can run inside all 500 Linux Operating Systems and will already have all existing programs and data inside it. This will save users who are migrating to Linux a minimum of eight hours.
Since approximately 90 percent of Windows users have an installed original equipment manufacturer (OEM) version with restore disks that cannot install into a VM, this is the only solution available today that provides a seamless migration that can also run Windows apps inside a Linux Virtual Machine.
The C: Drive to VM Support Package uses the Robolinux Stealth VM Software to convert the raw VM image file into a highly portable and flexible VDI file. It will then install and configure automatically to run in VirtualBox with just one click. Additionally, it will protect the Windows VM from being infected by viruses and malware. Please see http://robolinux.org/stealth-vm-info for details.
One of the greatest benefits of the Robolinux C: Drive to VM Support Package is its ability to work without the acquisition of a new Windows license key.
The Robolinux C: Drive to VM Support Package is a perfect solution for Windows XP users who cannot afford or simply do not want to upgrade. Now, Windows XP users do not have to throw away the PCs and laptops they have invested thousands of dollars into and forced to spend money on new hardware and software.
Here's what others had to say about Robolinux:
In a recent ZD NET survey results published February 3rd, 2014 show 11% of all XP Users plan to upgrade to Linux.
"This is the single most important Robolinux update in the history of Robolinux as it will significantly increase the world's number of successful Windows XP and 7 migrations to Linux."
New Workload Management and Data Protection Tools Help IT Administrators Better Meet User Demands for Data Access Anytime, Anywhere
HOUSTON, May 14, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Today NetIQ® announced the general availability of a new generation of PlateSpin® workload management and disaster recovery products, including PlateSpin® Forge 4, PlateSpin® Protect 11 and PlateSpin® Migrate 11. These latest versions provide fast and efficient disaster recovery, server consolidation, and migration capabilities for today's virtual and physical server workloads.
When combined with PlateSpin® Recon 4, the latest version of NetIQ's planning and analysis tool, the PlateSpin family allows IT professionals to set and maintain accurate service-level agreements (SLAs) for disaster recovery (DR), protect physical servers in an increasingly virtual world, and speed up transfers while reducing downtime during server migration.
Today's enterprises are challenged to meet increasingly aggressive recovery point objectives (RPOs) and recovery time objectives (RTOs), while protecting more server workloads with stagnant or even shrinking budgets. What's more, limitations of existing solutions prevent IT departments from backing up both their physical and virtual workloads to the same infrastructure.
"Business user expectations - driven by their smartphone and tablet experiences - for access to corporate data are unforgiving: it's access at anytime from anywhere. Those expectations feed the aggressive RPOs and RTOs IT administrators are pushing to meet," said Mike Robinson, senior manager, Solution Strategy at NetIQ. "These latest features in PlateSpin® Protect, PlateSpin Forge and PlateSpin Migrate, coupled with PlateSpin Recon 4, provide a combined toolset that allows today's professionals to plan for, manage and support any server consolidation, migration, or disaster recovery scenario that can impact the ability to support today's business users."
Combined, these updates address a range of solutions for common disaster recovery and workload management problems.
-- Physical Server Replication: PlateSpin® Protect 11 protects physical
and virtual servers with a single DR solution, either within its own
recovery environment, or by extending the capabilities of VMware's Site
Recovery Manager (SRM) to physical servers, enabling users to replicate
physical servers alongside virtual machines in an existing SRM
environment.
-- Latest Version Support: PlateSpin® Forge 4 now supports the latest OS
and hypervisor versions from Microsoft, VMware, and others, providing an
all-in-one disaster recovery hardware appliance that protects both
physical and virtual workloads, and delivers exceptional RTO and RPO
performance at an extremely affordable price point.
-- Anywhere-to-Anywhere Migration: PlateSpin® Migrate 11 extends NetIQ's
proprietary high-speed block-based transfer protocols and Server Sync
technology to the latest hypervisor versions from Microsoft, VMware, and
others, and to newer UEFI/GPT physical servers with large (2 TB+) system
drives, and offers true anywhere-to-anywhere (to and from physical,
virtual, and image) migrations, rather than just single-platform
physical-to-virtual conversions.
About NetIQ PlateSpin®
Beginning with the industry's first automated physical to virtual (P2V) server consolidation tool, today's PlateSpin® family of workload management products include the advanced analytics needed to plan successful migration and disaster recovery initiatives (PlateSpin Recon), anywhere-to-anywhere migration technology (PlateSpin Migrate), as well as affordable high-performance disaster recovery products available as both a hardware appliance (PlateSpin Forge) and software (PlateSpin Protect).
About NetIQ
NetIQ is a global, enterprise software company with a relentless focus on customer success. Our portfolio includes scalable, automated solutions for Identity, Security, Access, Governance, Systems and Application, Service, and Workload Management that help organizations securely deliver, measure and manage computing services across physical, virtual and cloud computing environments.
The Jeffrey Epstein VI Foundation Helps Launch Artificial Intelligence in Ethiopia
The renowned science foundation advances AI in the capital of Ethiopia.
NEW YORK, May 14, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- When it comes to Sub-Saharan Africa, the media always focuses on war, famine and disease. Little is known about the innovation and positive attributes stemming from the region. One such attribute, is the growth of computer science and artificial intelligence. Indeed, the field of AI has skyrocketed in developing nations with the advent of the home computer, but has recently found burgeoning roots, not in Silicon Valley, India or China, but in the bustling capital of Ethiopia.
Thanks to a leading AI group in Hong Kong called OpenCog Foundation, funding from the Jeffrey Epstein VI Foundation based in New York, and the Hong Kong government, the AI lab in Sidist Killo, Ethiopia called Addis AI Lab, has become the computer science pioneer in Sub-Saharan Africa.
"We are very excited by the programming coming out of the Addis AI Lab," Jeffrey Epstein remarked, founder of the Jeffrey Epstein VI Foundation, which supports cutting edge science research around the world. "With education and economic growth rates as one of the highest in the world, it makes perfect sense to lay an AI foundation in the heart of Ethiopia's capital."
Indeed, in Ethiopia, an astounding 95% graduate from primary school, 60-70% from high school, and there are almost 100 universities. The software market has doubled in the past three years and the Ministry of Trade and Industry affirms more than 700 licensed companies in computer technology and 95 software and computer networking businesses.
Similar to OpenCog, its founder in Hong Kong, the Addis Lab provides open-source programming to the community and works closely with universities, schools and the government, such as the Addis Ababa Institute of Science and Technology. Established by Ben Goertzel, head of OpenCog and Getnet Asefa, Manager and co-founder of Addis AI lab, the team's specialty includes machine learning based data analysis, computational linguistics, computer vision, mobile robots and cognitive robotics, cognitive architectures and artificial general intelligence.
"Addis AI's mission is to advance sustainable and cutting edge development in Ethiopia and Africa by what's called, technology leapfrogging: jumping straight into advance technological applications to save time and keep up with the developed world," Jeffrey Epstein stated. "Ethiopia has the educational basis for this and to be catapulted into the future."

The Ideal Camera for Capturing Life's Spontaneous Moments
When a split second means the difference between a good shot and a great shot, Nikon 1 users will appreciate the incredible speed and accuracy offered by both the new Nikon 1 J4 and Nikon 1 S2. Like the recently announced Nikon 1 V3, both cameras feature the world's fastest continuous shooting frame rate(1) at an uncompromising 20 frames-per-second (fps) at full resolution, ideal for capturing split-second moments that can last a lifetime. Additionally, the J4 sports an impressive 171 contrast detect focus areas and 105 phase-detect AF points for incredible autofocus accuracy when capturing either stills or HD video.
Both of Nikon's newest Nikon 1 System offerings offer the latest in imaging technologies to help capture amazing moments with crisp detail, even in low-light. The J4 features a new 18.4-megapixel CX-format CMOS image sensor, while the S2 features a 14.2-megapixel CMOS imaging sensor. Both employ the new EXPEED 4A image processing engine, capable of rendering family portraits, incredible landscapes or the game winning goal with true colors and amazing precision. When shooting in low-light settings, users can also utilize an increased ISO range, expandable up to 12,800, for better performance without the use of a flash.
Recognizing the importance of sharing precious moments, both the Nikon 1 J4 and Nikon 1 S2 allow the user to take amazing photos and HD video, and easily share with family and friends via social networks. The J4 features built-in Wi-Fi connectivity(2) that allows the seamless connection to a compatible smart phone or tablet for effortless sharing, while the S2 can provide the same capability via the optional WU-1a Wireless Mobile Adapter.
Capture and Create Beautiful HD Video
With the J4 and S2, Nikon has also made several enhancements to the cameras' HD video capabilities, as both allow the user to record crisp 1080/60p HD video for up to ten minutes per clip. Electronic Vibration Reduction (e-VR) is also available during 1080/30p and 720/30p video recording, to help ensure smooth and steady movies, even while handheld. Furthermore, both cameras are capable of capturing simultaneous still images during video recording, using the new Auto Image Capture feature that saves full size images automatically throughout recording, saving the 20 best stills for the J4 and 10 best shots for the S2. Slow View Mode is also available for the Nikon 1 J4, allowing the user to slow down the frame and capture each and every moment.
Like the Nikon 1 V3, the J4 can also record slow motion movies in HD in 1280 x 720 resolution at up to 120 frames-per-second (fps). With a wealth of new video features, the Nikon 1 System continues to push the boundaries for video capabilities in compact interchangeable lens cameras.
Ergonomically Designed and Ready for Anything
Continuing in the spirit of the Nikon 1 System, the Nikon 1 J4and Nikon 1 S2are ergonomically designed and extremely compact, ready to help capture stunning stills and HD video with ease, even during the most fleeting moments. The start-up time for both cameras is incredibly fast to ensure the perfect shot is never missed, while the J4, when paired with the recently announced 1 NIKKOR VR 10-30mm f/3.5-5.6 PD Zoom lens, is a nearly unbeatable combination when time is of the essence. Additionally, while the Nikon 1 S2 sports the traditional Nikon 1 multi selector for menu access, the J4 features a new touchscreen interface with touch shutter functionality that allows for extremely simple and intuitive shooting. Simply tapping the screen will instantly snap an unforgettable photo. In terms of storage, both new Nikon 1 cameras use Micro SD memory cards.
Bring Your Creativity to New Heights
The J4and S2 bring a wealth of new creative enhancements to the Nikon 1 System that provides the opportunity for users to even further expand their creativity, resulting in a truly customized experience. Both cameras see the return of several popular creative modes from previous models including Selective Color, Miniature Effect and Easy Panorama Mode (exclusive to the J4), but also introduce numerous new creative options for shooting both stills and video. For still images, users can now utilize Cross Process, Toy Camera and Creative Pallet modes, with the latter allowing users to apply effects to a scene prior to capturing an image to help preview how it will affect the photo. Creative Pallet is accessible through either the wheel on the back of the Nikon 1 J4's touchscreen display or by using the multi selector on the back of the Nikon 1 S2. Additionally, ISO Sensitivity Noise Reduction is now available to help render amazing images when shooting at high ISO ranges by "stacking" multiple (4) shots to help achieve clear and consistent photos even in difficult low-light shooting scenarios. Additionally, new video-specific options include Jump Cut, Fast Motion and Four Second Video, further expanding on an already impressive stable of video capabilities.
Bringing Nikon 1 System Cameras to New Depths
For those who want to take the Nikon 1 System underwater, Nikon has also introduced the new WP-N3 Waterproof Case for use with both the Nikon 1 J4 (with 1 NIKKOR 10-30mm f/4.5-5.6 PD-Zoom) and Nikon 1 S2 (with 1 NIKKOR 11-27.5mm f/3.5-5.6). Designed for those interested in deeper diving, without the hassle of bringing a D-SLR, the WP-N3 is capable of operating at a depth of 45m (approximately 147.6 ft.), allowing both new Nikon 1 offerings to capture amazing underwater photos and HD video.
For further versatility when shooting underwater, Nikon has also announced the SB-N10 Waterproof Speedlight, adding yet another tool to the underwater photographer's arsenal. This new Speedlight is compatible with the WP-N1, WP-N2 and WP-N3 waterproof cases, as well as the world's first waterproof, shockproof and freezeproof compact interchangeable lens camera, the Nikon 1 AW1 (when using the new Fiber Optic Cable Adapter).
