-- Best-ever images from Fluke, with the Fluke TiX Expert Series Infrared Cameras
EVERETT, Washington, March 23, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Fluke Corporation launches its highest resolution infrared camera ever: the Fluke® TiX Series Infrared Cameras. The TiX1000 (with 1024 x 768 resolution), TiX660, and TiX640 (both 640 x 480) feature up to ten times the on-camera pixels as are available on standard 320 x 240 cameras and a large 5.6-inch articulating display to help quickly identify issues while still in the field. The TiX Expert Series delivers highly detailed image quality, the most advanced focusing options available on one infrared camera, and the versatility to capture accurate measurements from targets that are challenging, dangerous, or moving too fast.
The SuperResolution mode feature on the TiX1000 and TiX660 cameras increase image resolution, when viewed in the included SmartView® software, four times more than what you get on camera. For example, SuperResolution reveals HD quality in the TiX1000 images with 3.1 million pixels. The TiX660 SuperResolution images have 1.2 million pixels. This higher resolution helps better identify potential issues that might have been missed with other infrared cameras.
The TiX Series can also be sub-windowed to 240 Hz frame rate to capture and analyze sudden temperature changes that occur within a second for advanced research and development applications.
With eight lens options (two telephoto, two wide angle, three macro, and one standard), the TiX Series can capture images from very close up to long range to meet a wide variety of applications.
The combination of high resolution and telephoto lenses captures detailed thermal images from a safe distance for oil and gas, utilities, and preventive/predictive maintenance applications. The super telephoto lens enables users to inspect areas that they could not get close to before and still capture spectacular, detailed infrared images.
At the other end of the spectrum, these cameras, combined with a macro lens, deliver extreme close-up views in extraordinary detail making them ideal for inspection and analysis for the research and development engineer.
The TiX Series cameras feature the most advanced focus options available on a handheld infrared camera for consistently in-focus images. The EverSharp multifocal recording mode utilizes the focus motor to capture multiple images from varying focal distances with the push of a button. Using advanced algorithms, Fluke SmartView® software combines the images taken from multiple focal distances and creates an image that sharpens the detail of not just the initial focal point, but the elements around the focal point, providing an in-focus image for objects at different distances. This along with LaserSharp® Auto Focus, auto focus, and manual focus provides a variety of methods to capture consistently in-focus images.
Fluke Connect System
TiX Series Infrared Cameras are part of the Fluke Connect system -- the world's largest portfolio of connected tools -- which allows technicians to wirelessly transmit measurement data from their test tools to their smart phones and tablets for secure storage on the cloud and universal team access from the field. BEIJING, March 23, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- In April 2014, a 10-square-meter fast-food restaurant, Singularity Brothers or "Xi Shao Ye," opened in Beijing's Zhongguancun Haidian Park and immediately attracting an enormous following. In its first 100 days, Singularity sold a record 200,000 hamburgers. Favorably reviewed by local media, the valuation of what was clearly a franchisable restaurant quickly shot up to RMB100 million. In September, another location opened in a Zhongguancun shopping center near KFC and enjoyed even greater popularity. The founders of the "Brothers" were now confident they could create a global franchise. Only in ZPARK, with its massive international influence, could the Singularity Brothers have gained such a huge following.
"The fifth branch of this now very popular restaurant chain was opened in December 2014. It's no coincidence," said Meng Bing, the founder of Singularity Brothers, "that three of its first five shops were established in Zhongguancun." For Singularity, Meng Bing said, "The biggest medium (for promotion or advertising) is not CCTV or Baidu, but Zhongguancun." In this new era, he said, Zhongguancun is undoubtedly the best place to create and find new and trendy hotspots because Zhongguancun is now widely viewed in China as "a gathering place for opinion leaders."
Indeed, over the past 20 years, the impression that most people have of Zhongguancun has gradually changed from what it once was, a large electronics super mall, to what it is today -- a center for innovation and strategic developments in technology and also a source of national pride.
In addition to Singularity, Zhongguancun also houses many important new businesses, not the least of which is Virtue Inno Valley. Located in Dinghao Building, Virtue's offices were designed by master designers from Tsinghua University's Department of Architecture -- a small, simple but still very modern design.
"Only in an incubator just over 2000 square meters could a group atmosphere be obtained," said Li Zhu, the originator of Virtue Inno Valley's "angel open platform." Mr. Li Zhu has over 20 years of entrepreneurial experience. Before launching Virtue Inno Valley, he set up a software company in partnership with another Tsinghua University alumnus and then sold it to Tsinghua Tongfang. Afterwards, Mr. Li became an angel investor and one of his first investments was UUSEE (http://www.uusee.com, a sports video website).
New success stories now occur at Virtue Inno Valley every day. Many of its clients often begin as poorly developed start-ups, but they frequently evolve into successful companies, some with potential valuations in excess of hundreds of millions of RMB. The foundation for Virtue Inno Valley is rooted to a large extent in its association with Tsinghua alumni. On Tsinghua University's 100(th) anniversary, the Tsinghua Alumni Association of TMT (Technology, Media, Telecom) was created to help alumni do business. Not long after, the Association and THTI (Tsinghua Technology Innovation Holding Co.) together jointly helped launch Virtue Inno Valley. At that time, the government of Haidian District was leasing two out of the four floors in the Dinghao Building to Innovation Works and Tsinghua Science Park, respectively. The two floors are currently assigned to Tsinghua Science Park and managed by THTI, and as a result, Virtue Inno Valley now occupy the entire space. From the very beginning, it was Li Zhu's intention to launch his incubator here and make it the first and most impressive "innovative" incubator in Zhongguancun.
"Beijing provides one of the best business environments in China, and Zhongguancun is a perfect area for start-ups, in part, because of its the strong entrepreneurial atmosphere and its focus on innovation. There are also large Internet companies nearby, along with abundant talent from local colleges and universities, plus a great many financial and investment institutions. In addition, there's also a good regional market in and around Zhongguancun. With Virtue, Zhongguancun now also has the additional infrastructure an organization to give entrepreneurs a wide range of professional value-added services.
The approach of traditional incubators is to rent low-cost office space and make a profit by carving up and renting space, often on a daily basis. However, within Virtue Inno Valley, Li Zhu expects that can really help entrepreneurs reduce their failure rates by helping to steer them in the right product direction. He can also help them connect with the resources they need to succeed. When it comes time for them to unveil their products, the Valley can also help them to find and secure the right promotional channels, find partners for cooperation and, if need be, obtain additional financing. In addition, the new incubator is also able to seed-fund many projects, as well as providing clients with many basic entrepreneurial services.
As a consequence, the biggest difference between this incubator and many other more traditional ones, Mr. Li asserted, is that "we just don't rent a house" at a cheap price to entrepreneurs. Because Virtue Inno Valley is a community, not just a traditional incubator, it can offer its clients a "communicative atmosphere," to small companies and small teams of people a path to succeed.
By learning from leading incubators like Y Combinator (YC), as well as from the experiences of other small incubators in Silicon Valley, plus the experiences of more than 500 start-ups, Virtue Inno Valley has also created an infrastructure for entrepreneurs, very similar in essence to a cross-enterprise team. So it's not uncommon to see new start-ups bringing their computers to the site on their first day of business. Next, Virtue provides them with a place to work and assists them with registration. Office staff from law firms and finance firms are also on site to help them solve problems. The incubator also provides them with cloud services and helps them connect with Amazon, Aliyun, Baidu Cloud and other large platforms. In time, Li Zhu predicts, "countless billionaires will be born here."
In Virtue Inno Valley's experience, the most urgent demands of many early-stage entrepreneurs often involve the need for both capital and guidance. That's why professional value-added services and investment functions are always made available to member companies by Virtue Inno Valley. Entrepreneurs can also learn from the past mistakes of other entrepreneurs, and well as from their achievements -- another reason why Virtue Inno Valley is so valuable to its tenants.
Virtue Inno Valley often likes to say it offers members an "open" environment, and in many important respects, it does. First, Virtue is open to entrepreneurs. Even entrepreneurial teams, which do not receive financial investment from Virtue, are strongly supported by the incubator. Second, Virtue is open to investors from the Internet and other enterprises in other industries. As a result, Virtue is in a position to communicate with investors about all of its projects. In fact, Virtue routinely holds entrepreneurial competitions in partnership with Microsoft, Tencent, Baidu and other industry leaders. Thirdly, the incubator is also very involved to international markets. Virtue, just to give one example, recently formed a strategic partnership with Telefonica which operates incubators in no less than 12 countries. As a result, entrepreneurs at Virtue have access to potential partners as they expand overseas.
Currently, Zhongguancun is very active in securing domestic venture capital investment. Besides Virtue Inno Valley, the Garage Coffee and other new entrepreneurial service providers, Zhongguancun also works very closely with IDG Capital Partners, Legend Capital, Capital Today, Northern Light Venture Capital, Walden International, CEYUAN, Infotech, TusPark Ventures, Shenzhen Capital and other well-known institutions - all of whom are partners with ZPARK in Haidian Park. For instance, IDG has invested a number of high tech enterprises in ZPARK Haidian Park, including most famous and successful mobile internet companies in China like 360, Xiaomi, Baidu and etc.
Relying on industrial advantage of ZPARK, the overall formula for "incubator + accelerator + Science Park" is beginning to take shape. In the future, ZPARK will also energetically explore upscale services accelerating the incubation for both the middle and later stages of the industrial chain. At the same time it will continue to provide a strong incubation service for the enterprises at seed and startup stages. It will also establish step-by-step systems for "pre-incubation + full incubation + professional incubation + accelerating incubation." ZPARK will also build a promotional service platform for incubators within the Software Park, aiming for high integration of industry for both upstream and downstream firms, and meeting the requirements in all aspects of "cluster incubation" and "professional incubation." In this way, it can facilitate the concentration and scaled development for many kinds of business and industries.
In addition, its innovative and entrepreneurial avenues will also continue to pay attention to and research global innovative and entrepreneurial trends, and explore, experiment and promote new ways of thinking. This process will inevitably cultivate a group of new entrepreneurial service providers to inject both new blood and fresh ideas into Zhongguancun.
When we think of Silicon Valley, we always think Apple, HP and other world-famous science and technology giants. When we think of Zhongguancun, we think of Baidu and MIUI developed by Xiaomi. They are both the result in no small part to the incubation cultivated within ZPARK Haidian Park -- "China's Silicon Valley." With help from ZPARK, these high-tech Chinese enterprises from China are now in a position to develop into true global brands. Currently, ZPARK is in the midst of realizing its strategic goal of building scientific and technological innovation centers with global influence, and through these innovations, transforming the park into a true China Silicon Valley.
Casio Clocks In With Six New Timepieces At Baselworld 2015
G-SHOCK MRG-G1000RT Features Recrystallized Titanium Alloy and Design Inspired by Traditional Japanese Craftsmanship and PRO TREK PRW-3500 Features Rugged Design and 200 Meter Water Resistance
MESSE BASEL, Switzerland, March 20, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Casio America, Inc. is proud to unveil six new additions to its line of high-performance timepieces. New G-SHOCK, EDIFICE, PRO TREK and BABY-G timepieces join the growing Casio collection and will be on display for the first time at Baselworld 2015 in Switzerland from March 19-26 in Hall 1.2.
"There is no better place to showcase Casio's newest timepieces to the watch and jewelry trade industry than at Baselworld, the largest international watch and jewelry trade show in the world," said Shigenori Itoh, CEO and President of Casio America, Inc. "These timepieces are an exciting addition to our already extensive G-SHOCK, EDIFICE, PRO TREK and BABY-G lines, which are designed to provide consumers with quality watches that offer the Casio performance, versatility, and style that they can trust and be proud to wear."
New product highlights include:
G-SHOCK
During Basel, Casio will introduce three new G-SHOCK watches including the GPW-1000T, GWG-1000, and MRG-G1000RT. Casio's GPW-1000T includes the latest hybrid timekeeping system. The main parts, including the bezel and back of the case, are made of lightweight, rust-resistant titanium. It weighs approximately 10% less than its predecessor, the GPW-1000, yet maintains the distinct feel of metal. The bezel is made from hard Ti64 alloy to resist stresses to this part of the watch, making for a rugged and scratch-resistant design.
Casio's GWG-1000 is constructed to withstand working amid mud and rubble. Its buttons are protected against the entry of mud, to ensure that essential functions are available at all times. The watch also offers vibration resistance to withstand driving on rough roads or other heavy duty operations. The GWG-1000 has large hour and minute hands, large index marks and a front button, a compass bearing readout to help users pinpoint the right direction, as well as a barometer which is useful for predicting weather changes.
The new G-SHOCK MRG-G1000RT features an advanced timekeeping system that receives both Global Positioning System (GPS) and radio wave time-calibration signals and it has Dual Dial World Time, which simultaneously displays the time in two different cities. The design of the MRG-G1000RT is developed under the theme of "Made in Japan," to express the proud origins of G-SHOCK. Inspired by the nie pattern that is characteristic of Japanese swords, the bezel and metal plate are made from Ti64 alloy hardened by a recrystallization process which gives the bezel and metal plate a rich finish. This watch also features gold-colored front screws and index marks on the watch face, and a deep "Japan blue" DLC coating.
* Ti64 is a type of alloy made from 90% titanium, 6% aluminum, and 4% vanadium.
PRO TREK PRW-3500
Based on the PRW-3000, the new PRW-3500 will be the first PRO TREK model to feature Triple Sensor, Ver. 3 and 200-meter water resistance. Designed for a wide variety of outdoor scenes, the PRW-3500 is easy to operate even while wearing gloves, thanks to its large buttons with non-slip surfaces and a register ring that has been designed for easy gripping. The watch lets the user effortlessly check-- and even record--all the needed information on outdoor conditions.
This new model also comes with all the standard PRO TREK features including: an atmospheric pressure tendency alarm that notifies the wearer of sudden swings in atmospheric pressure; a Tough Solar power system that charges the watch even in dim light; a full auto LED backlight that illuminates in the dark with a tilt of the wrist; and Multi Band 6 technology for receiving time-calibration signals transmitted from six stations around the world.
EDIFICE EQB-510/ECB-500
The new EDIFICE EQB-510 and ECB-500 are based on the Smartphone Link EQB-500, which enables users to easily set the time to more than 300 cities worldwide from a smartphone app. This capability means that both the analog-style EQB-510 and digital-analog style ECB-500 make it even easier to set the world time. Designed for business users, these watches feature multi-dimensional, high-contrast watch faces that clearly present both the local time and one world time at a glance. Users can also easily switch the time displayed on the inset dial to the main dial and vice versa, either from the watch or a smartphone, to view the local time on the main hour and minute hands while traveling and the home time on the inset dial.
BABY-G BGA-190
The BABY-G BGA-190 watches are designed for active women who travel the globe. The watches are equipped with Dual Dial World Time, which simultaneously shows Home Time and World Time using the main minute/hour hands and an inset dial at the six o'clock position. When traveling, the time at home can be viewed at a glance on the inset dial in addition to the local time clearly indicated by the main minute/hour hands. These features are perfect for women who need to communicate across time zones. The minute hand on the inset dial at the six o'clock position is shaped like a plane, encouraging the wearer to take off on her own adventure. Casio's BGA-190 watches are inspired by the beaches of the world and are designed in three colors: Black, Orange and White.
Casio's new G-SHOCK, PRO TREK, EDIFICE and BABY-G watches will be sold in continental Europe, the UK, North America, South America, China, Hong Kong, South Korea and other Asian locations, the Middle East, Africa and Oceania. For more information on the new Casio timepieces, visit http://www.Casio-USA.com.

Jenn-Air Introduces Its First Duct-Free Downdraft Range Collection
BENTON HARBOR, Mich., March 20, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Reinforcing its position as a luxury appliance innovator, Jenn-Air is introducing a 30-inch range with downdraft ventilation that also features its first-ever option for duct-free range installation. With a full-depth design that easily installs seamlessly into a standard opening, these elegantly designed ranges keep both air and sight lines clear. Available in dual fuel and electric models that can either be vented outside or utilize the duct-free option that doesn't require exterior duct work, they join a recently introduced collection of 30-inch updraft range models.
"For the first time, exterior ducting issues will not limit the choices of those who have a standard 30-inch space and prefer the high performance downdraft ventilation our brand offers," notes Jenn-Air marketing director Brian Maynard. "Whether the challenge is a high-rise environment that prohibits this choice, or simply a homeowner not wanting to install exterior duct-work, these ranges offer a premium, high performance option for this very common footprint."
According to Maynard, downdraft ventilation is appreciated by both consumers and designers alike for its performance and aesthetic benefits. Downdraft ventilation, with its location on the cooktop rather than above it, immediately whisks away smoke, steam and cooking odors at the cooking surface before they escape into the kitchen. Additionally, notes Maynard, downdraft ventilation eliminates the need for overhead ventilation, allowing for the uninterrupted sight lines popular in today's modern, open kitchen designs.
New dual-fuel downdraft range models feature cooking surfaces with four brass burners, including a 17,000 BTU Dual-Stacked PowerBurner offering the control and flexibility to immediately transition from a high-heat sear to a delicate simmer. The PowerBurner is complemented by 15,000-and 9,200-BTU burners, together with a 5,000 BTU simmer burner. Additional elements include a Rapid Boil Element; a 1,200-watt 6-inch Element; and a Melt Element that helps prevent scorching of more delicate ingredients like chocolate and butter.

An Auto Convection Conversion quickly converts traditional cooking times and temperatures. Additional features throughout the line include soft-close oven doors and ramp up theatre lighting. Easily maneuverable telescoping glide racks in the ovens extend out smoothly and provide easy access when removing or checking on dishes in progress. An offset rack provides further flexibility for items in the oven.
Both new models are scheduled to be available in May and will be available in Euro-Style stainless steel featuring sleek, slightly curved handles or in Black Floating glass with a color-coordinated handle. SmartFocus Launches The Message Cloud and the Development of the World's First Virtual Beacons
LONDON, March 18, 2015 /PRNewswire/ --
- SmartFocus announces proprietary virtual beacon technology that is offered as part
of its cloud-based marketing suite
- New technology offers brands unprecedented contextualised mobile and location-based
digital marketing capability
SmartFocus [http://www.smartfocus.com ], the global leader in intelligent,
omni-channel marketing today launched The Message Cloud - created to redefine
context-driven marketing.
As part of The Message Cloud, SmartFocus will be offering the world's first virtual
beacons that render current beacon technology redundant. Thanks to virtual beacons, brands
can now benefit from proximity technology without the constraints of complex hardware
integration or maintenance, whilst still being able to trigger micro location messaging to
enable a contextual experience. No other indoor mapping technology can do this using just
a floor plan.
SmartFocus's best-of-breed Message Cloud technology gives brand marketers a holistic
view of their customers and enable them to deliver even more personalised marketing
interactions that increase brand engagement and sales. The Message Cloud effortlessly
processes big data to automatically personalise and contextualise communication to every
brand's customer. Using a host of factors including location, weather, customer age and
gender, favourite brands and products, web browsing history, past buying behaviour and
abandoned carts, The Message Cloud listens to and learns from customers.
Rob Mullen, CEO at SmartFocus, says: "Every customer is on their own unique journey.
Motivations to try, buy or stay loyal change depending on the individual making the
choice. A brand marketer can 'own' that moment by using our Message Cloud technology to
harvest and interpret data and create contextualised campaigns that are triggered by
customer behaviour; not by their best guess.
"We all know it's all about mobile and, whether it's personalised content on a
webpage, a mobile push message, a proximity alert or an optimised email, it is now more
and more likely to be received and viewed on a smartphone. Brands need to react to that
and SmartFocus can help. Mobile has the power of 24/7 access to the 'remote control' of
your customer's life and the ability to enable location-based personalised marketing
messages better than any other medium."
One large brand using SmartFocus's Message Cloud is the UK's largest toy retailer, the
Entertainer. Phil Geary, Chief Marketing Officer for the Entertainer, comments: "We're
experts in what children love, and our winning combination of fair prices and excellent
customer service, means we're a favourite with mums and dads too. I'm delighted that we
can ensure that our proud tradition continues online and across all of our marketing
channels, by partnering with SmartFocus.
"SmartFocus helps to make our customer experience be the best it can be, irrespective
of what channel we're using, and the SmartFocus Message Cloud ensures that my team and I
can offer perfect user experience every time. Replicating our in-store experience when
each and every one of our customers visits our website or receives one of our marketing
messages is critical to us. The SmartFocus solution offered us all of the capabilities we
needed in a single, comprehensive platform."

duet(TM) by PROTAG Bluetooth Tracker Expanding Its Distribution Base Into the United States with Longer Battery Life and an Army of Users
SINGAPORE and WILMINGTON, Del., March 19, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- duet(TM) by PROTAG made its debut last year and is currently retailing in 20 countries worldwide in major electronics retail stores. It is the first few tracker brands in the market and it has more than 100,000 customers in its database to date focusing on the Asian and European markets. Being one of the most established Bluetooth® tracker brands, it is currently in talks with several telecommunication brands, banks and corporate firms to make PROTAG products available worldwide, especially the United States, to aid the crowd GPS network of item tracking. By 2016, the company estimates that penetration rates in major cities will be 5%, which means that 1 out of every 20 users will be able to help track a lost item as they walk past it. duet(TM) by PROTAG is partnering with major third-party logistics (3PL) firms to ensure adequate distribution in the United States and Europe. The company aims to ship three million units by December 2015 to build its tracking community.
duet(TM) can be attached to keys, pets, laptops or wallets and synchronizes seamlessly with mobile phones via Bluetooth® Low Energy. When the phone or the duet(TM) detects that one or the other is missing, it will alert the user with an alarm on the phone and duet(TM). When the item is reported as missing, the tracking is extended to the PROTAG network of users, helping the user to get back the item effectively.
Why is duet(TM) preferred?
As compared to other Bluetooth® trackers in the market, the company boasts a robust connectivity with the mobile phone, making the technology "useful" in the first place. The company's CEO, Rick Tan, said during the IFA Press Event last year, "Reliability is the key for tracking as it will be useless if there are too many false alerts due to poor connectivity in the first place. It is like a boy crying wolf; after that you will just find it a hassle to be using it." The duet(TM) is designed to be compatible with all of the major Android(TM) brands and Apple devices. Recently, the duet(TM) was featured in Yahoo US by journalist David Pogue who compared the duet(TM) with other trackers.
Since December 2014 duet(TM) has made five major improvements to its devices that are sold in the market. These include matte casing design and premium finishing, improved battery fit, improved battery life, antenna range and connectivity, better quality attachments and packaging design.
duet(TM) users are given a free lifetime membership account to PROTAG Trace System to track their mobile phones and PROTAG devices. It is like the find my iPhone®, Android(TM) device manager and device tracking all combined into one system. Trace allows tracking, locking and ringing of the phone. It also has the option of triggering the front camera to capture a thief's photo. The company also has plans to include other Bluetooth® devices to be tracked in its future updates. The free PROTAG app is available for download here.
When asked how it differs from its competitors, VP Marketing and Sales, Mr. Oh Joo Siong said, "PROTAG comes with a replaceable battery and does not charge subscription fees. Our products work reliably and are also readily available to deliver immediately."
The duet(TM) is also one of the only trackers that will alert its user when the smartphone has been left behind. "Most Bluetooth® trackers only work one way by notifying you through your smartphone when you leave your valuables behind. However, they do not alert you when your smartphone is left behind instead. This means that the tracker is not utilized to its full potential to protect the one thing we probably cannot live without; our smartphone," said Chief Technology Officer Jonathan Lim.
PROTAG comes with a 1 year limited warranty; orders can be made on PROTAG's website or one can be picked up at most retail electronics retail stores for US$29.99.

MESSE BASEL, Switzerland, March 19, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Consistently raising the bar, Casio America, Inc. has introduced a rugged and versatile timepiece to its outdoor activity PRO TREK line. The PRW-3500 is the first PRO TREK watch to feature 200-meter water resistance, Casio's next-generation Triple Sensor Version 3 Technology, and Tough Solar Power, making it a must-have accessory for outdoor enthusiasts. Based on Casio's PRW-3000, which has a digital display and is water resistant up to 100 meters, the 200 meter water resistance found in the PRW-3500 allows outdoor enthusiasts to take their adventures to new heights--and depths. Like its predecessor, the PRW-3500 boasts Triple Sensor Version 3 Technology which includes a direction sensor and pressure sensor for compass and altimeter/barometer readings. The atmospheric sensor includes a pressure trend alarm to keep users informed of any sudden pressure swings that might otherwise be overlooked. The timepiece also enables the user to effortlessly check--and record--all the needed information on outdoor conditions. In addition, the PRW-3500 can be operated easily even if the user is wearing gloves, thanks to its large buttons, non-slip surfaces and a register ring that has been shaped for easy gripping.
With Casio's Tough Solar Power technology, the PRW-3500 eliminates the need for battery changes. After a full-charge, the timepiece has a battery life of approximately 23 months without further exposure to light and a special Power Save feature allows the timepiece to power down when not exposed to light for a certain period of time, thus conserving energy. This eco-friendly, solar battery-powered timepiece can be charged even in low or fluorescent light. In addition, the PRW-3500 features a full auto LED backlight which illuminates in the dark with just a tilt of the wrist.
Equipped with Casio's Multi-Band 6 Atomic Timekeeping technology, the PRW-3500 alleviates concerns about changing the time for Daylight Saving Time or leap years. To be effective this equipment cannot lose a connection because of hazards such as moisture, dust, and severe temperatures.
To provide the increased connectivity demanded Laird engineers designed the new HCR Dual Band and HCR Tri-band Rotatable Shell Omnidirectional Antennas. These antennas support dual band and tri-band operation and are part of Laird's respected HCR line of antennas which are equipped to handle the worst conditions while still providing reliable performance.
"We like to say the HCR line of Antennas deliver high performance, reliable communications almost anywhere a machine operates including the most extreme environments," Laird's Senior Vice President of Infrastructure Antenna Systems, Monte Rohde explains. "Employees depend on constant interaction with their equipment wherever it operates because real-time wireless control, alerts, and feedback from the machines is critical to productivity and safety," says Rohde.
With applications including commercial, industrial, and the IoT, these antennas are the result of extensive investment in research, customer feedback, and comprehensive testing. Both antennas are rated for temporary water immersion, can withstand temperatures from -40 degrees to 70 degrees Celsius, and offer a variety of vandal resistant mounting options.
The HCR antenna platform provides frequency agility, low visibility, wide bandwidth and a low angle radiation pattern which is superior to traditional gain antennas in most applications. This makes it ideal for M2M system applications within the commercial, industrial, transportation, energy, utility, and outdoor retail industries.
The HCR Dual Band Omnidirectional Antenna operates in the 824 to 894 MHz or 1850 to 1990 MHz frequency ranges while the HCR Tri-Band Omnidirectional Antenna models function in the 824 to 894 MHz, 1710 to 1880 MHz and 1910 to 2170 MHz frequency range in addition to the 880 to 960 MHz, 1710 to 1880 MHz and 1850 to 1990 MHz frequency ranges.
The HCR also comes standard with an industry leading five (5) year materials and workmanship product warranty. You can learn more by clicking here.

GTL Offers Corrections-Grade Secure Tablets and Mounts for Stationary Use
- Flex⢠platform capable of supporting video visitation, e-messaging, and more with small footprint
RESTON, Virginia, March 19, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Global Tel*Link (GTL), the leading provider of integrated correctional technology solutions, announces the release of its patent-pending Flex⢠platform of corrections-grade tablets and hardware enclosures. Representing a major innovation for the correctional industry, the Flex platform, which is available in many different configurations, is a low-cost inmate communications and services portal combining the functionality of in-pod kiosks, video visitation stations, and inmate phones. The platform allows all inmate-facing services to be combined into a single, low-cost, flexible device, saving space and making efficiency-boosting technology available to more facilities.
The Flex platform addresses a broad range of technology services for inmate populations. The platform is available with three different tablet housings, chosen based on the demands of the application. One housing includes a tablet and handset and has capabilities for video visitation, inmate calling, email, grievance filing, commissary ordering, and other similar tasks. A simpler housing, without the handset, is capable of all of these tasks except for video visitation. Yet another configuration allow inmates to sync mobile tablets to transfer external content such as educational materials and music onto their devices, in addition to the full range of capabilities on the tablet itself.
In any configuration, the Flex platform requires only the same amount of wall space as a traditional inmate phone. Other benefits over competing in-pod solutions include the Flex platform's design to run solely by Power over Ethernet (PoE) technology. By not requiring 120VAC infrastructure to operate, the Flex platform increases efficiency while reducing demands on facilities. Additionally, the simplistic, two-piece design of the Flex platform allows for quick repairs and upgrades of previously mounted housing units.
The single turnkey platform capable of delivering this broad range of services from a hosted platform is advantageous to GTL's customers because it easily allows for expansions to existing inmate services as facilities see fit. The hosted delivery of services include: email, requests, grievances, video, inmate calling, commissary order entry, law library access and more. Additionally, the tablets used in the Flex platform feature a corrections-grade secure operating system and utilize GTL's secure network. The design of the platform allows GTL to offer the solution to a broader range of customer than competitive products, meaning more facilities can take advantage of the efficiency that the platform can provide.
GTL is the leading provider of integrated correctional technology solutions, delivering financial value, security, and ease of operation to our customers through visionary products and solutions at the forefront of corrections innovation. As a trusted correctional industry leader, GTL provides service to approximately fifty percent of inmates nationwide, including service to 32 state departments of corrections, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and 32 of the largest city/county facilities. Condusiv Releases Diskeeper 15 Server Introducing a New Era of Performance Optimization to SAN Storage
LONDON, March 18, 2015 /PRNewswire/ --
Condusiv(R) Technologies expands the real-time fragmentation prevention capabilities
of Diskeeper(R) Server to include an industry-first solution for Storage Area Networks
(SAN) connected to physical servers.
Condusiv Technologies [http://www.condusiv.com ], the leader in I/O reduction software
for virtual and physical server environments, today announced the release of Diskeeper 15
Server [http://www.condusiv.com/business/diskeeper/server ], highlighting an
industry-first fragmentation prevention solution for SAN storage systems connected to
physical servers to keep both servers and storage running like new.
"Even with over 45 million Diskeeper licenses sold, Condusiv is not sitting still in
regard to addressing performance-robbing fragmentation wherever it appears in the data
center. Performance-robbing file fragmentation affects SAN storage equally as much as it
affects server local storage or direct-attached storage. As much as Condusiv offers a
robust software solution to accelerate virtual environments, the fact remains that some of
the most mission-critical applications still run on physical servers. That's not a small
number considering there are over five million physical servers in production across North
America and EMEA," said Brian Morin, SVP, Global Marketing, Condusiv Technologies.
While modern RAID controllers do a good job of managing data at the physical disk
layer, which certainly helps in the fight against file fragmentation, it falls short in
that it does nothing about fragmentation at the logical software layer that Windows sees.
This is the primary reason SAN storage performance degrades over time.
"There is a misconception among storage administrators that their SAN storage device
is eradicating fragmentation for them because they aren't familiar with fragmentation at
the logical disk layer outside the SAN. While SAN technologies certainly help at the
physical disk layer, it does nothing to address fragmentation at the logical disk layer.
If Windows sees a file existing as 20 separate pieces at the logical layer, that means the
physical server and SAN storage device will execute 20 separate I/O operations to process
the file. That's a lot of overhead to the physical server and a lot of unnecessary IOPS to
the SAN considering it would have taken just one or two I/O operations to move the same
amount of data if Diskeeper 15 Server was being used to prevent fragmentation at the
logical disk layer," said Morin.
According to Steve Taylor, CTO at Plan B Technologies in Bowie MD, "Considering that
fragmentation dampens the performance of mission-critical applications by 25% or more,
Diskeeper 15 Server's list price of $399.95 per server makes it a 'no-brainer' for our
customer base. If storage administrators want to keep their SAN storage systems running
like new, they need to work with their in-house Windows server administrator to deploy
Diskeeper 15 Server across the physical server environment to prevent fragmentation from
occurring at the logical disk layer. This provides benefits at both the compute and
storage layers since less overhead is required to process any given file."
Diskeeper 15 Server's patented real-time fragmentation prevention software operates at
the physical server layer where input/output (I/O) operations originate. By preventing
files from being fractured and broken apart into pieces before being written to disk or
SSD in a non-sequential manner, fragmentation is eliminated before it becomes an issue.
That means a SAN storage system never needs to be taken offline for defragmentation
maintenance.
"Not only does Diskeeper Server introduce a new era of performance optimization to SAN
storage using hard disk drives, but also using solid-state drives as well. Fragmentation
at the logical disk layer is inherent to the fabric of Windows despite the storage media
on the backend. Organizations are making heavy CapEx investments into flash but not
getting most from that investment due to the I/O overhead occurring at the file system
layer. Diskeeper 15 Server changes that equation for them," said Morin.
New to Diskeeper 15 Server:
- IntelliWrite(R) 2.0 has been enhanced to prevent fragmentation from
occurring so files are written in an optimal sequential state for servers with local
storage, direct-attached storage (DAS), and Storage Area Network (SAN).
- InvisiTasking(R) 2.0 intelligent resource monitoring technology has been
enhanced to allow Diskeeper "background" operations to run with near-zero resource
impact on current activities.
- Instant Defrag(TM) 2.0 has been enhanced to monitor volumes to resolve
critically fragmented files in real-time that are known to cause performance problems,
making it SAN-friendly.

application performance and efficiency, extends equipment longevity to make technology,
