Ceragon Takes Action Intended to Accelerate Its Return to Profitability

announced further progress on several initiatives aimed at returning to profitability and
increasing shareholder value. Ceragon is taking immediate action which is expected to
reduce operating expenses by approximately 17% in 2015 compared to 2014. In addition, the
company has begun implementing initiatives aimed at gradually improving gross margin, cash
flow and working capital during 2015. Through the combination of these efforts, Ceragon
intends to reach profitability in the second quarter of 2015.
"We are determined to return Ceragon to profitability as quickly as possible and to
preserve our financial flexibility," said Ira Palti, CEO of Ceragon. "The positive
worldwide reception of our IP-20platform gives us confidence that our geographic revenue
mix will improve. Meanwhile, steps are being taken to manage the revenue mix more
carefully, and to seek revised pricing, payment and other terms on new orders in certain

In a separate and unrelated development, in the fourth quarter of 2014, the company
expects to record additional financial expense in the amount of approximately $19 million,
reflecting a re-measurement charge related to certain assets in Venezuela at current book
value of approximately $20 million, primarily accounts receivable, denominated in or
linked to the U.S. dollar, due to the continued Venezuelan government policy that limits
our customers' ability to pay such receivables in U.S. dollars.

this week to host the Power Hack challenge at Google's UK offices in London on the 9th and
10th December 2014. The two-day rapid prototyping hackathon was a major first step in a
collaboration that aims to deliver affordable domestic energy via off grid power sources
to poverty-stricken communities around the world.
The partnership between RS, Allied and Practical Action involved three teams of
world-class design and engineering minds competing to create a simple off-grid power
generation source for domestic use. Participants in the event included tech industry
leaders Adrian Bowyer, founder of the open source RepRap project, Jude Pullen from Design
Modelling, Matt Johnson, co-founder of Bare Conductive, Schneider Electric, TE
Connectivity, Elektor and more. Using the newly updated suite of rapid prototyping tools
from RS and Allied (DesignSpark Mechanical, DesignSpark PCB and the Toolbox App), the
teams produced simple yet innovative solutions, all potentially viable to solve the power
crisis in developing nations.

supporter, who spent time with the engineers at Power Hack 2014. "If you stand in this
room, with so many different disciplines, and so many engineers who've never met one
another before, all powering together to produce a breakthrough on so many different
fronts - it's bound to have an impact on life in the developing world."
Ortis Deley, of The Gadget Show, said of the partnership: "One in five people around

organisations come together to benefit those less fortunate is a great stride forward."
Using DesignSpark Mechanical 3D modeling software, the winning team, Team Maxwell,
produced a Power Brick, dubbed the "Seebrick", which uses the Seebeck effect to generate
electric power. The brick can be built into a cooking stove and takes advantage of waste
heat from every day cooking but can also be built into home walls and use solar energy
amplified by reflectors. The thermocouple bricks, consisting of clay, copper and iron,
rely on temperature difference rather than heat, meaning they can also be used in cold
climates where warmer interiors provide sufficient temperature step-up from the cold
outdoors. Seebrick generates 2.5 Watts of power, and with just 6 bricks and 2 hours of
cooking, three rooms can be lit with LEDs for a night. In addition to domestic power
generation, this invention holds the potential to make an even greater impact: if a small
village donated some of the electricity generated back to a local grid, the Seebricks
could power a mobile phone base station to serve the community.

Other prototypes included stunning improvements on IBM's recent work to re-use lithium
ion batteries (laptop batteries) as energy storage devices, and a simple
micro-electromagnetic generator built from common waste materials such as aluminium drink
cans and plastic water bottles, which creates enough electricity for domestic power use
via wind and water. The solution also featured improvements on Alfredo Moser's famous
lightbulb invention by the addition of an LED light.
RS Components and Practical Action will now work to implement these powerful
innovations to transform the quality of life in rural communities struggling with
electricity and power challenges.

ZEISS VR ONE App Contest highlights new product's market entry

Experience virtual reality any time, any place - in December 2014, at a price of 99
dollars, ZEISS is launching a mobile Virtual Reality (VR) headset - the ZEISS VR ONE -
that works with smartphones featuring display sizes of between 4.7 and 5.2 inches. The
attention of the young development team was sharply focused on user-friendliness, design
and technology. To dive into virtual worlds, all the user needs to do is select an
appropriate VR app and slide his or her smartphone into the headset using the tray

XCOR Presents New Platforms For Suborbital Science at AGU
MOJAVE, Calif., Dec. 11, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- XCOR Aerospace(®) presents new instruments for solar observation and atmospheric phenomena measurement, alongside its full scale Lynx® spacecraft, December 15-19 at the American Geophysical Union Fall Meeting in San Francisco. Both instruments - the Southwest Research Institute's (SwRI) Solar Instrument Pointing Platform (SSIPP) and KickSat's sprite, will demonstrate future platforms for commercial suborbital science.

The SSIPP will examine solar wave dynamics above the Earth's atmosphere while onboard the Lynx.
"SSIPP uses a classic, two-stage pointing system similar to larger spacecraft, but in this case the first stage is the Lynx pilot who will initially steer the instrument toward the Sun," says SwRI Systems Engineer Jed Diller.

The KickSat sprite, which is generically known as a chipsat, is only the size of a couple of postage stamps, but has many capabilities of larger spacecraft such as memory, sensors, radio transceiver, and solar cells.
"It is essentially a very small package that becomes a very large, wide aperture sensor," says Andrew Filo, one of the developers behind the chipsats' deployer.
Co-inventor Matthew Reyes, adds: "The direct scientific measurement of natural phenomena from outer space has generally been cost-prohibitive for most researchers' budgets. The availability of new commercial spacecraft and crowdfunding has opened new opportunities for scientists to perform low cost, highly collaborative research."

United Airlines Bringing Apple's iPhone 6 Plus On Board for Flight Attendants

CHICAGO, Dec. 10, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- United Airlines today announced the carrier will equip its flight attendants with Apple's iPhone 6 Plus, putting important safety and service information at flight attendants' fingertips while enhancing their ability to meet customers' needs.
The airline will begin distribution to its more than 23,000 mainline flight attendants during the second quarter of 2015. Upon introduction, the devices will have the ability to handle most onboard retail transactions and will enable access to company email, united.com and the company's Intranet as well as policies and procedures manuals.
Future enhancements include replacing the flight attendants' printed safety manual with an electronic version on their iPhones and providing real-time reporting and improved follow-up on aircraft cabin issues and repairs. Additionally, United plans to develop a number of customer-focused tools for the device.
