SPRINGFIELD, Mass., Dec. 16, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Starting today, Comcast X1 customers in Western Massachusetts will be able to access their TV lineup on any connected screen in their home. Additionally, they will be able to download programs they have recorded on their digital video recorder (DVR) to watch on IP-enabled devices or stream them using an Internet connection, anytime and anywhere. The in-home streaming feature provides access to virtually the entire channel line-up and Xfinity On Demand programming on mobile devices and computers. While in the home, they can watch any recording on IP-enabled devices over Comcast's managed network, or download recordings to take on the go. To deliver these new features to Xfinity TV customers, Comcast has launched an Xfinity TV app for iOS and Android tablets and smartphones, and a dedicated portal for viewing on computers. Toshiba Power Management IC Optimizes Electronic Power Functionality For Consumer And Industrial Mobile Products
New system power-management device manages optimum power for application processor, memory, I/O, camera, audio and LED backlighting

(TAEC)*, a committed leader that collaborates with technology companies to create breakthrough designs, today announced a new system power management IC (PMIC) designed to help optimize power management functions for a wide range of mobile products. The TC7734FTG PMIC adopts a 130-nanometer analog semiconductor process with very low on-resistance and gate charge characteristics, and integrates various power management blocks within a single device.
Rising demand for mobile products is driving concurrent growth in the market for PMICs, as manufacturers continually seek to reduce their products' power consumption. According to Transparency Market Research, the current compound annual growth rate for the global PMIC market (2013-2019) is currently 6.15 percent. By these statistics, the market will reach $46 billion by 2019. [1]

The charger block detects various USB(TM) port conditions and restricts the input current to 500mA, 1000mA or 1500mA, and all charger functions operate automatically without the need for any external control signals and it automatically changes the voltage source between the battery and USB connection as needed.
The IC also features an external thermistor that detects the battery's temperature, helping to prevent overheating while the mobile device is charging. Various thresholds and settings of the charger functions can be programmed by the onboard I2C interface. Individual settings of various output voltage levels, power sequences and many other functions can be programmed via I2C, with user-programmable eFuse to fit various platforms needs.
The TC7734FTG is housed in a compact 7mmx7mm QFN64 package with input voltage ranging from 3.4V to 5.5V. The IC integrates various error detect function, including thermal detect, over current limitation and LED open/short detection, to help ensure proper operation of smartphones, tablets, handheld medical devices, industrial PDAs, barcode readers and portable instruments.

"Physical Web" beacons give intelligence to everyday objects and do much more than simply broadcast a message such as an advertisement. The beacon broadcasts a URL that is recognized by the user's mobile device and works together with mobile search without the need for any other custom app.

Unlike QR codes that require a user to focus on an image, or NFC which has a range of only seven inches, BLE has a range of 54 yards, an important point to consider in such applications as guiding a user through a dynamic facility such as a stadium, an airport or crowded retail store.

Royole Develops World's Thinnest 0.01 mm Full-Color AMOLED Flexible Display
FREMONT, Calif. and SHENZHEN, China, Dec. 16, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Royole Corporation has successfully demonstrated the world's thinnest full-color flexible display that has been integrated with a smartphone in July 2014. This flexible display can be easily bendable as well as rollable. The thickness of the whole display is only about 0.01 mm (10 m), which is less than one fifth the diameter of the human hair. The bending radius of this flexible display can be less than 1 mm, which is even thinner than a pen refill.

TUV Rheinland Visions for Quality Wearable Devices
